Bookwomble @dabbe I love Keats, and that line "a tale half told" is so poignant. 1mo

dabbe @Bookwomble I adore Keats as well. Another line that gets me is “whose name was writ in water.“ #gulp 1mo

I love this book SO much!! It‘s the 2nd book in Brin‘s Uplift series and I enjoyed it even more than the 1st, and I loved that one too! This story is set centuries later with an entirely different cast of characters. A spaceship with a crew of humans, dolphins and a chimp, stumbles upon a history altering find out in space. Now it finds itself the focus of countless dangerous galactic enemies. An epic science fiction adventure follows that⬇️

MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm had me turning page after page. The multiple POVs is done really well, especially with the different species. I look forward to the next in this trilogy.

This was one of my #Roll100 picks for March.

Interesting concepts but the writing makes it extremely boring. I'm never picking more books by this author if I can avoid it.

RamsFan1963 I didn't care for this either, but Brin has written some very good books. I'd recommend Kiln People, The Practice Effect or Startide Rising if you want to give him another shot. 6mo
LeticiaToraci Thanks for the Hail and the recommendations! :-) 6mo

An expedition into our Sun attempts to make contact with mysterious entities said to live within. Humans hold a unique place in the universe, being the only species known to have evolved to sentience without aid from another species. Do the “Sun Ghosts” hold the secret to prove otherwise? Was humankind really abandoned by a race of ancient caretakers? With some intrigue and a bit of whodunnit thrown in, it‘s a fun ride that I quite enjoyed.

MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm This was one of my #Roll100 picks for August. @PuddleJumper 2y

MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm @Leftcoastzen Right? I 100% bought it for the cover. 😅 Luckily it was a good read too! 2y

He wants us both up on the bridge, I suppose so the fins can see us and know their human patrons are nearby. Even a competent dolphin spacer like Creideiki might feel the need from time to time. If only we humans had that psychological refuge.

Loved the Postman, so now I'm getting into the Uplift War series.
