This book lets kids and partners know it is okay to be cranky. Everyone is that way sometimes. But that crankiness will eventually go away. So when you see others who are cranky remember that this happens to you too and help them find a way to happiness.

Crankenstein is a F book written about a boy who has a lot of things go wrong in his day and turns into Crankenstein! The boy meets another Crankenstein which could be the end or just enough to turn his day around. This book is great to help students with emotional coping skills. #UCFLAE3414SP20

charlotteclancy www.theappliciousteacher.com has great activities students can do like ‘Ask and Answer Questions with Camrankenstein‘ where students can pull questions out of a bucket and answer comprehension questions about the book. UDL 9.3 Develop self-assessment and reflection. Students will be able to self assess their anger management better after reading this story. EL 22- Give enough wait time for second language learners to respond to bucket questions. 4y

This F book would be a perfect read aloud on a difficult day. This books shows a little boy as Crankenstein and how miserable he is until he encounters another Crankenstein and they learn that they can make it go away with some laughter. Students will really connect with the story and want to read on.

LizzettM The UDL Principle (7.2) optimize relevance, value, and authenticity. This will show that it's okay to be upset sometimes but it is important to be happy too. The EL strategy 19, establish predictable classroom routines through the use of an outline on the board or bulletin board is nice for students to see how it can relate in their environment. This book won the E.B White Read Aloud Award.

juliap99 This book seems like a great idea to share when students are having a bad day! I like the idea to have an outline on your bulletin board ! 4y
DrSpalding You have included all necessary elements of the rubric! Of course a read aloud for a read aloud award winner. Be sure to expand on your resource from the author. 4y

tjwill That telling of The Spider and the Fly is wonderful. The illustrations really make it! 5y

#BBRC #A2Z #LetterV These have all come from The Great Australian Storybook Collection released by our local paper. A zebra, a moose, a lion & a sheep get caught out in the rain so they find a nice dry cave to play cards in. But there‘s a very cranky bear already there who just wants to sleep. To cheer him up, lion wants to give him a mane, zebra thinks he needs stripes & moose is sure he wants antlers but sheep makes him a pillow from his wool.

A Crankenstein Valentine | Samantha Berger

#LiteraryLove Day 4: While Crankenstein does not really touch on the commercialism of Valentine‘s – he hates everything about it with a passion – from #PlayingCupid to the sneeze-inducing roses to having brand-new heart undies, from creating “mushy” garlands of hearts to eating heart-shaped chocolates. Definitely an alternative view to Valentine‘s Day. My review: https://wp.me/pDlzr-hmi

MelissaSue81 I love Crankenstein 5y

I'm just ill enough to stay home and avoid all other people, but not enough ill to avoid being plagued by those petty household chores that pile up. Wouldn't I feel better in a fresh bed made of clean linens? Well, yes. Why not catalogue the collection of puzzles while the laundry runs, like they've been set aside for me to do these last two weeks?

I'm making tea. That'll improve things. #downwiththesickness #cranky

Every morning we pass the scrapyard on the way to school. As soon as we see it we have to roll the window down so My grandson- who is 4 -can say "Good Morning Cranky!!!" He fully believes that Thomas and Friends all live there. ?? It makes him so happy to greet his friends on the daily. Isn't imagination and belief wonderful ??? #gratitude30 #routine #cranky #thomasthetrain #adayinthelife

TheBookHippie @ravenlee children are forced into reality way to soon in my opinion. 5y
ravenlee I agree. My 5-year-old has been asking recently if fairies/mermaids/etc. are real and I‘ve been trying really hard to answer in a way that encourages her belief without telling her they ARE real...it‘s a tough balance. 5y
