This is my first pick for a book I'd like to read for a #brexitbooklist . Owen writes for the guardian and I loved he's other book chavs. I think this title says it all really. Also I'm really feeling sick about the May- trump meeting and the implications of any negotiations for a trade deal some of the possibilities have been a bit worrying to read about for the uk #holdtheline
#MondayMotivation courtesy of Maya Angelou, on this last Monday of 2016. We must not be defeated, even in the hours of darkness. We must and we will rise.
Poignant, warm, sweet, and yes, funny. What a delightful read. A view from an immigrant's seat that helps me see my country differently. #diversebooks #readwomen #holdtheline
Pick one. Read it. Change your life. #readdiversebooks #holdtheline
That's what you do during difficult times: you stand by those who need you most. #youarenotalone #holdtheline
Part 3 of #bookbinge. These are the only parts of my race/#holdtheline binge that have arrived so far, but I'm really looking forward to them both. (Also, I didn't know that the Coates was so small, both in size and length! That was a surprise!)
I'm pissed at Amazon (and iBooks may be no better, but I had credit there so...) but Daniel Jose Older, being rad, has made his collection of stories $.99. Super grateful. I need to escape a bit to recharge my batteries for a long sustained fight for justice. #holdtheline #wearthepin
I'm finally less angry and sad after the terrible events of yesterday. Still scared and worried (and okay, angry and sad are still there too), but I'm working on turning it around in my head. I've done a decent bit of book shopping (more to come today), and sleep isn't a friend of mine lately, but this has lit a fire in me. It's a fire that was always there but I was too afraid to say anything for fear of offending anyone. Not anymore. 👇🏽
