Without going into too much detail, as this is making its final rounds for #TheBreakfastBookClub #GroupA , the best way for me to summarize this is raw. Absolutely raw. The language is like a staccato and very different from what I usually read. At first, I had a hard time getting into the book, but I persevered, and I am glad I did. Explorations of boundaries and sexuality. I couldn‘t stop reading!

This was a fun read.... no surprise really who the secret ‘admirer‘ was, but enjoyable to see it play out. The MC gets into her own head a bit much, which made it a little confusing with the audio, but other than that-a great palate cleanser! #readmyowndamnbooks #bbrc #teenangst #recommendedbyalitten (even if she hardly posts anymore)

Sneaking in another #NewYearWhoDis before the end of the month & I absolutely loved this! It was a read-in-one-sitting - I‘d be more than happy to start it again immediately. As suggested, I began with the translator‘s note, which helped.

Smart, savvy Makina is sent to the other side, to cross, to find her brother. Her quest takes her across the border, through a world that‘s almost dream-like, tilted on its axis a fraction.

I added this to my tbr awhile ago when I saw it #RecommendedByALitten. I‘ve seen it showing up in my feed again recently & decided to check it out. A quick read but also a sad topic, frustrating, and anger-inducing. In the manner of The Hate U Give from a male perspective not often heard that is at once devastating & inspiring. A great choice even to replace TKAM to update teaching of race relations today.
