So the elementary school where I work will be closed indefinitely beginning tomorrow and I think this is the universe trying to give me a kick in the butt. I have like sixteen scribbled pages of a TBR that I‘ve been planning to create a spreadsheet for and procrastinating forever. Spreadsheets are not my natural habitat.
#tbr #spreadsheet

PurpleyPumpkin So, dare I ask how this project is going? It certainly looks challenging. 4y
AlaMich @PurpleyPumpkin I made a good start, then got a little sidetracked by some other stuff I needed to do. But it was going pretty fast. 😊 4y
PurpleyPumpkin Excellent! It always feels good to get tasks like this done. Honestly, I don't know what I'd do without my spreadsheet. It keeps me on track in so many ways. Well done! 4y

@BarbaraTheBibliophage here's my spreadsheet - it's not much different to yours but the challenges continue to the right of the screen! This is a list of all the books I have planned for next year.

BarbaraTheBibliophage Thanks for sharing. It‘s awesome! I need to add columns for the diverse reads also. Glad for the reminder!! 6y
Daisey I like how you put a column for different challenges. I've just got a single notes column in mine, but I may need to swipe this idea to see challenges more clearly. 6y
Natasha.C.Barnes You know how all the bullet journal posts get tagged with # bujo? We should start a #spreadsheet tag! 😂 6y

drokka I need to do better with my spreadsheets. I put each on a different for 2017 and that did t work at all lol 6y
laundry_piles This is amazing! I was may spring here wondering how the heck I was going to organize my challenges! 6y
laundry_piles If you're doing multiple challenges, how do you keep track of books that fit into multiple? 6y
jenniferw88 @laundry_piles there's more columns on the spreadsheet that were cut off... I've also filtered the headings row so that I can just click on a book title & find out which challenge(s) it belongs to! 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @laundry_piles I will tag you in my post with another example. But the type is small enough that you‘ll need a tablet to see it. 🤓 6y
jenniferw88 @AtwoodLover this is how I keep up with challenges - @BarbaraTheBibliophage has another example. Other littens use bullet journals - I suggest you click this hashtag: #bujo - for inspiration! 6y

I spent the last week or so working on a spreadsheet for my six reading challenges. This is my first six months of plans. Normally there wouldn‘t be date concerns, but with #Booked2018 being divided into seasons, I have targets to hit. Next I have to get it onto my iPad so I can refer to it anytime!

UwannaPublishme Wow! I admire your organizational skills. Wish my scratches of paper looked this good! 😁🙌🏻 6y
jhod Very impressive! 6y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa Wow! That‘s impressive! 6y

LauraBrook This is so amazing! Makes my list-loving heart happy! 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @LauraBrook And they say massage therapists don‘t do technology! We do! At least list-related and book-related! 6y
erinreads Beautiful! I‘ve been working on my 2018 reading log spreadsheet, but I like the idea of combining all of the challenges into one sheet with all the planned books. 😍 6y
AmyG Wow! I am impressed, too. 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @erinreads Thanks. It‘s not that hard to add a column and then the prompts a book fulfills. Guess it depends on how you build your spreadsheet though! 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @UwannaPublishme I used separate notes in an app called Notability this year. It worked pretty well, but I like this better. Paper would make me nuts because I‘m always checking stuff as I shop. 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @jhod @Riveted_Reader_Melissa @AmyG Thanks guys! Mr. B keeps a spreadsheet of his golf stats, so I guess it runs in the family. 😜 6y
jenniferw88 I'll post a pic of my spreadsheet tomorrow, but this is impressive! 6y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @BarbaraTheBibliophage much more interesting than golf stats! 😂 6y
LibrarianRyan Dammmmmmmnnn. I may need to do this. 6y
DivineDiana Goals! 👏🏻 6y
RebelReader I have to use spreadsheets too. Makes it easier for me to track. Especially since I've never participated in any challenges previously and now I'm doing six in 2018! 6y
CoffeeK8 Wow! I think I‘ll be doing this too! Great idea! 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @jenniferw88 Thanks. Please tag me when you post yours—you might have some ideas for me to “steal!” 😘 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @LibrarianRyan It‘s right up your alley, and don‘t I remember that you‘re doing a zillion challenges? 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @RebelReader @CoffeeK8 It does make everything easier. I just decided to add another challenge (#LitsyAtoZ) because I found that my existing plans fulfilled all but four letters. I wouldn‘t have figured it out so quickly without the spreadsheet! (edited) 6y
LibrarianRyan @BarbaraTheBibliophage yep. Now I know what I am doing at work tomorrow. 6y
TricksyTails LOVE! I love spreadsheets!! Yours is amazing! ?I've been trying to organize my reading challenges but have been having computer problems. Doing it on my phone has been such a headache. I may need to resort to pen and paper for now. Going to "steal" some of your ideas! ? 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @TricksyTails Feel free to steal! Hope you can get something down until your computer starts behaving. (edited) 6y
Pamwurtzler Wow! That is one amazing spreadsheet! 6y
emilyhaldi So impressed 😱👏🏻 6y
mrp27 Super impressive!! 6y
BarbaraBB I‘ve got one too; it‘s addictive. I keep adding and changing 😂 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @BarbaraBB It is addictive! I have stuff to do, but I want to sit down and plan instead. 🤪 6y
BookishMe I am using Google Keep (notes) to keep track of the titles for the #Booked2018 seasons and countries for #LitWorld2018GB ;D 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @BookishMe I used a notes program for 2017 but thought I try this instead. I have it in the cloud so I can review and modify on the go! 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @laundry_piles Here‘s my #spreadsheet screen grab. You can also see how I listed times where I use the same book for multiple prompts. 🤓 6y
Gezemice Awesome! I love it! Normally I would jump on that but I am going to keep my options more open next year. I only read a third of the books I planned for this year... so I had to keep changing my lists, lol. 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Gezemice Thanks. I know what you mean about making changes. I only read one of the books I planned for LitsyAtoZ 2017. 🤪 6y
Gezemice @BarbaraTheBibliophage Lol, I guess I did better! I read at least half! :) 6y
Cinfhen That's amazing ❣️🙌🏻❣️ 6y
laundry_piles @BarbaraTheBibliophage ooo thank you! This is nice! Looks like I need to get to work :) 6y

Please indulge my crazy for a sec. 🤓 It makes me SO HAPPY to update my master book tracking spreadsheet so my stats will automatically update (shout out COUNTIFS excel formulas) and I can break down my reading in all kinds of fun ways. I love all y'all creative types bullet journaling your recaps, but me and my fellow accountants gotta stick to what we know! 😂👩‍💻💻📊✅ #stats #spreadsheet

LauraBeth Ohh - how I love a good spreadsheet 😀 I'm going to have to view this on my iPad so I can fully appreciate it! Nice work 👏👏 7y
erinreads 😍 I started a spreadsheet for this year to track different book stuff, so I'm excited to carry it on year to year now. 7y
ReadingSusan Love it! I used to do spreadsheets before Goodreads but they were never this fabulous! 7y

Anyone else create spreadsheets before book festivals with events to check out? I know, I'm totally a nerd. #tucsonfestivalofbooks #spreadsheet #tfob

ValerieAndBooks Not me, because I've never had the opportunity to attend a book festival yet. Have fun 😊! 7y
OceanCityMama No but you're inspiring me! 😍👍 7y
saguarosally @ValerieAndBooks Go find one! I'm 90 minutes from TFOB but hey, close enough! 7y
See All 13 Comments
saguarosally @OceanCityMama Go for it! I did it last year too, it made it easier to see events that really piqued my interest. Honestly I'm not seeing as many events this year that are hugely interesting but there are enough. 7y
LauraBeth This is a great idea! 7y
LisaJo No spreadsheet here. But, I have been known to print out multiple schedules cut out the different events and then arrange them in various ways to best optimize my time and what I would wish to see. I will have to spreadsheet next time, however. That seems so much better than my method. #BookFestivalGeeks 7y
RebL I usually sharpie the grid. I have a new position this year and I'm not sure how much I will get to see, but I'd love to know what made your list. 7y
saguarosally @LauraBeth Try it! I am finding it worked better last year because there were a lot more events that I was interested in last year. 7y
saguarosally @LisaJo Your method is more fun though! I'm just space challenged and use spreadsheets all the time at work, so it was just what I turned to to plot out book festival ideas. 7y
saguarosally @RebL Hey, if you want to meet Littens I'll probably go down there all weekend. I'm mostly done with Saturday but have to finish up Sunday. My grid this year has more gaps than last year's grid. 7y
RebL @saguarosally Last year it seemed like every session was an agonizing choice between options. I'll be working in Worlds of Words in the College of Education. We are responsible for the children's and teen strand. I'd love to meet up and can likely do it on your schedule. We should exchange contact info. You'll have to tell me what's going on in the rest of the fest. 7y
saguarosally @RebL How do you find contact info for others here? Is there a private messaging function on Litsy? 7y
RebL Wondered the same. We can DM on IG. 7y
