This is the first year I'm using a spreadsheet to track my reading. I'm still using my book journal of course, and Goodreads - this is just another fun way to see some stats over the course of the year.

Thought I'd share in case anyone is interested. I have no connection to this I'm just spreading the love. 😊

Texreader This is so cool! I don‘t know google docs but fortunately my kids do. I‘ll get their help to set this up. Thanks for sharing!! 5y
sprainedbrain Oh. My. God. I thought I finally had the perfect spreadsheet tweaked for this year, but this one does even more. Thanks for sharing! 5y

Started a Google spreadsheet of all the books I own, only gone through two rooms and already up to 300! 😲 I also have columns for if it's signed, if it's part of a series, and the biggest one...if I've actually read it. 😬 I liked the idea of a Google doc so I could easily pull it up on my phone or any computer, do you use any kind of personal library database?

CareBear I use the app Libib. 6y
MartinaLove Goodread, it's an app. I love it! 6y

I‘m just going to leave this here in case anyone wants a copy. I‘ve spent more hours than I care to admit working on my 2019 reading tracker. In addition to tracking what I read and my challenges, this will help me manage my embarrassing TBR and new book purchases, gifts, and loans. Plus, fun charts and data for days! 🤓

If you‘re interested, please read the comments for some links... I could go on and on about this, but I will spare you! ⬇️

sprainedbrain Here‘s the link to my version...Let me know if questions, or email me at sprainedbrain.litsy@gmail.com. 😃

sprainedbrain Full credit to Sophie (Portal in the Pages on Booktube). I started with her 2018 tracker and modified it to my needs by adding more audiobook tracking, changing the genres, and more. Here‘s the link to Sophie‘s video explaining how her sheet works, with a link to the original!

Gezemice Wow! That‘s impressive! I can‘t access the link though - it requires permission 6y

kmartissexy Woah!! Nice! 6y
sprainedbrain @Gezemice can you try again? I‘ve been messing with it and I think it should work! 6y
Gezemice @sprainedbrain Oh yes, it works now! Very impressive! It takes a lot of work... 6y
llwheeler Wow! That's awesome 6y
Mandigolightly I love this. Can I use it? 6y
sprainedbrain @Mandigolightly absolutely! It should let you make a copy so that you can make it work for you. 😃 6y
Mandigolightly @sprainedbrain thank you so much. I‘ve got spreadsheets going for challenges but they‘re nowhere near this streamlined 6y
sprainedbrain @Mandigolightly I‘ve been using spreadsheets for my tbr and challenges for a few year, but they didn‘t do all of this extra stuff. Now I‘ve got it all in one place! 6y
RealLifeReading Nice spreadsheet! I have been doing something similar for a few years but never thought of adding my rating to it! 6y
laurenlovesliterature 👍👍👍👍 6y
LogiKitty I love data and books & this spreadsheet is brilliant! I'm curious if I would want/need to use it at any point (: permission to possibly borrow in the future? 6y
sprainedbrain @LogiKitty absolutely! I‘m sharing so that others can copy it and make it their own! 😃 6y
BookBabe Wow! Thanks for sharing! 6y
valeriegeary Wowzer! 😱 6y
Bookzombie Wow! This is awesome! Thanks for sharing! 6y
LogiKitty @sprainedbrain thats rad! Thanks for your generosity! 6y
Exbrarian Thanks! Tracking is my downfall. This should help. 6y
ReadingRover @sprainedbrain you are a freakin genius! 6y
erinreads You know I love a good spreadsheet! I just built my 2019 log, so now I‘m excited to go look at yours when it‘s not 4:30 in the morning to copy some of your ideas. 😂 6y
youneverarrived Thanks for sharing! 6y
Lmstraubie Wow! Just wow! This is incredible!!! 6y
Daisey I haven‘t set up my spreadsheet for 2019 yet, so I‘ll take a look. Thanks for sharing! 6y
saresmoore You‘re my hero. 6y
sprainedbrain @BookBabe @Bookzombie @LogiKitty @Exbrarian @youneverarrived @Daisey You are very welcome! It was a lot to do upfront to get it to do what I needed, and putting my tbr in was quite a chore, but I‘m very pleased with all that it does. 🤓😃 6y
sprainedbrain @erinreads I don‘t know, 4:30 am seems like an excellent time for spreadsheeting. 😜😂 If you‘ve got any suggestions for mine, feel free to share! 6y
sprainedbrain @saresmoore Ha! I do what I can. 😂 6y
TheUnpopularReader Wow!! I have been looking for a template for my TBR list! So awesome! 6y
sprainedbrain @TheUnpopularReader Yay! I hope it works for you! 6y
sprainedbrain @VeganCleopatra This is the one I‘m using, but I think I added library savings columns to my copy after I shared this link. 🤓 6y
VeganCleopatra I somehow never saw this post. Thanks! I love a good spreadsheet. 6y
VeganCleopatra This is actually somewhat similar to the one I have greatly modified for myself from Book Riot I believe. I pretty much just do it for the results page. Haha 6y
sprainedbrain @VeganCleopatra yes! I love the data page! I do like the tbr pile on this one, though. The spreadsheet that Portal In the Pages put out for 2019 (after I had modified the 2018 sheet) eliminated the tbr tab, so I stuck with mine. 6y

Finished creating and printing my reading logs. Once I finalize my TBR I'll be ready to rumble. How do you keep track of your reading during readathons?

Burghbookaddict Omg you're so organized I love it 😍 6y
2BR02B @BurghBookAddict Thanks! If anyone else would like to use my spreadsheet template I am happy to provide a link. 6y

MinDea Do you use Bookly? 6y
2BR02B @MinDea No. I'd like to, but it's not available for Android. 😕 6y
MinDea I know! 😭 I got the app on my iPad but it isn't great. I wish it we're on Android too! 6y
AnneCecilie I just use the stop watch at my phone. 6y
2BR02B @AnneCecilie I use that for timing purposes, but then I like to write the time down in case I accidentally clear it. 6y
AnneCecilie @2BR02B I take a photo of the clock every time I stop it. 6y
Airykah13 I use an app, Leio mostly but sometimes Bookly 6y
Airykah13 I love the spreadsheet idea 6y

BeckyD That's amazing! I could never be that organized. 7y
sprainedbrain I love a good spreadsheet! 😍 7y
Alicia Omg this is awesome! 7y
silentrequiem @BeckyD I'm only organized on my computer. My real life is a mess! 😣 7y
sprainedbrain @silentrequiem I‘m trying to improve my spreadsheet to be more like yours, but I‘m challenged. Is that a google sheet or excel you are using? Or something else? If you don‘t mind my asking. 🤓😂 7y
silentrequiem @sprainedbrain It's not Excel. I use one of the free office suites, Libre Office. But you could def do this in Excel or Google Sheets. 7y
sprainedbrain @silentrequiem I will keep trying. I‘ve been using spreadsheets for a year now but mine are boring compared to this. Thanks! 7y

I spent the last week or so working on a spreadsheet for my six reading challenges. This is my first six months of plans. Normally there wouldn‘t be date concerns, but with #Booked2018 being divided into seasons, I have targets to hit. Next I have to get it onto my iPad so I can refer to it anytime!

MemoirsForMe Wow! I admire your organizational skills. Wish my scratches of paper looked this good! 😁🙌🏻 7y

LauraBrook This is so amazing! Makes my list-loving heart happy! 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @LauraBrook And they say massage therapists don‘t do technology! We do! At least list-related and book-related! 7y
erinreads Beautiful! I‘ve been working on my 2018 reading log spreadsheet, but I like the idea of combining all of the challenges into one sheet with all the planned books. 😍 7y
AmyG Wow! I am impressed, too. 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @erinreads Thanks. It‘s not that hard to add a column and then the prompts a book fulfills. Guess it depends on how you build your spreadsheet though! 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @UwannaPublishme I used separate notes in an app called Notability this year. It worked pretty well, but I like this better. Paper would make me nuts because I‘m always checking stuff as I shop. 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @jhod @Riveted_Reader_Melissa @AmyG Thanks guys! Mr. B keeps a spreadsheet of his golf stats, so I guess it runs in the family. 😜 7y
jenniferw88 I'll post a pic of my spreadsheet tomorrow, but this is impressive! 7y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @BarbaraTheBibliophage much more interesting than golf stats! 😂 7y
LibrarianRyan Dammmmmmmnnn. I may need to do this. 7y
DivineDiana Goals! 👏🏻 7y
RebelReader I have to use spreadsheets too. Makes it easier for me to track. Especially since I've never participated in any challenges previously and now I'm doing six in 2018! 7y
CoffeeK8 Wow! I think I‘ll be doing this too! Great idea! 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @jenniferw88 Thanks. Please tag me when you post yours—you might have some ideas for me to “steal!” 😘 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @LibrarianRyan It‘s right up your alley, and don‘t I remember that you‘re doing a zillion challenges? 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @RebelReader @CoffeeK8 It does make everything easier. I just decided to add another challenge (#LitsyAtoZ) because I found that my existing plans fulfilled all but four letters. I wouldn‘t have figured it out so quickly without the spreadsheet! (edited) 7y
LibrarianRyan @BarbaraTheBibliophage yep. Now I know what I am doing at work tomorrow. 7y
TricksyTails LOVE! I love spreadsheets!! Yours is amazing! ?I've been trying to organize my reading challenges but have been having computer problems. Doing it on my phone has been such a headache. I may need to resort to pen and paper for now. Going to "steal" some of your ideas! ? 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @TricksyTails Feel free to steal! Hope you can get something down until your computer starts behaving. (edited) 7y
Pamwurtzler Wow! That is one amazing spreadsheet! 7y
emilyhaldi So impressed 😱👏🏻 7y
mrp27 Super impressive!! 7y
BarbaraBB I‘ve got one too; it‘s addictive. I keep adding and changing 😂 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @BarbaraBB It is addictive! I have stuff to do, but I want to sit down and plan instead. 🤪 7y
BookishMe I am using Google Keep (notes) to keep track of the titles for the #Booked2018 seasons and countries for #LitWorld2018GB ;D 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @BookishMe I used a notes program for 2017 but thought I try this instead. I have it in the cloud so I can review and modify on the go! 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @laundry_piles Here‘s my #spreadsheet screen grab. You can also see how I listed times where I use the same book for multiple prompts. 🤓 7y
Gezemice Awesome! I love it! Normally I would jump on that but I am going to keep my options more open next year. I only read a third of the books I planned for this year... so I had to keep changing my lists, lol. 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Gezemice Thanks. I know what you mean about making changes. I only read one of the books I planned for LitsyAtoZ 2017. 🤪 7y
Gezemice @BarbaraTheBibliophage Lol, I guess I did better! I read at least half! :) 7y
Cinfhen That's amazing ❣️🙌🏻❣️ 7y
laundry_piles @BarbaraTheBibliophage ooo thank you! This is nice! Looks like I need to get to work :) 7y

Calling all data loving Littens. Last year I stumbled across the BEST spreadsheet to track my reading/ book acquisitions. Well, this year the lovely gentleman who created it has updated the sheet with even more wonderful details. This is a screenshot of his YouTube episode ( https://youtu.be/UCypSgwVSzM ). The 2017 spreadsheet is in the notes. With Litsy and the spreadsheet, my reading took off this year. You'll need to skip ahead on the video.
