I had to quit my 900 page library book less than halfway through because it was a brick and I was going on vacation for a week…tough time for my hold to become available. But I finished this one and enjoyed it! It was a bit cheesy, but I‘m never against that. I even got halfway through the second…which I will now put on pause and try to finish the rest of the library chonker in the week I have left.

This book is everything I wanted it to be and more! Witches, magic, love, betrayal, and twists and turns that come from it of nowhere! I cannot wait to read the second one!!!

The perfect night for some deck reading!!

I‘m enjoying this series! A witch and a witch hunter. Lots of secrets and betrayals and quite the surprise ending. Right up my alley! I‘m enjoying the plot twists and surprises! On to the next! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It‘s an easy fantasy read. 🦋
The main topic is the romance between the witch and her hunter. It‘s a good book if you want the story itself to be kind of shallow and superficial and want romance as priority.
A good way to get out of a “reading slumber” 📖🌅

A fun and easy read. Insomnia hit me at the right time so I stayed up all night and finished this one. We loved a tortured romance interest.

This was a lot of fun! Witch and witch hunter, battle of good vs evil, but which is which? Or witch? I shouldn‘t have waited so long to read this one, it is a rip roaring fantasy-luxurious, layered, and lovely. Max also approved. #Bookspin @TheAromaofBooks

This book had me at the edge of my seat so many time! The second book is in transit at the library and I cannot wait to get my hands on it to see what comes next! 📖

I ❤️ witches

This was truly an enemies-to-lovers story because they were both actively working against each other the whole time, and I found that tension very compelling and so different from the normal way you see that trope done of just like two people who work in an office and don‘t like each other.
I also found the magic system completely different from anything else I‘ve read.
I finished this at 11:20pm last night and immediately started the next one!

Hot coco and a new book kind of weekend. Finally starting book 1 of the crimson moth series. More YA than I expected but really liking it so far! #fantasy #witches

At first I thought this map seemed kind of silly because there isn‘t a ton on it. Later in the book placed are discussed that aren‘t included on here which confirmed it being silly to me.

I loved this book. I can't wait for the sequel coming early next year.

This was an amazing book filled with all the tension and other worldliness that I think of when I think of a Witchy Read. Ciccarelii has written an Enemies to Lovers romance that truly sets the bar for what can be done with this trope, especially when blended in with the Brothers Best Friend subtrope. With World building this vivid and detailed I cannot wait to see how the author will build on this for the nxt book.

I liked this - didn't love it. Fantasy isn't always my jam, so it's a roll of the dice each time I pick one up. When I love it, I love it. This one didn't really have anything original for me; it felt formulaic. I did enjoy the witch aspect, though.

2.5ish weeks before I go back to work full time (aka school is back in session) & I am trying my hardest to knock as many books of my TBR as I can!!

Currently about 50% through Amina (my fantasy book club pick for July) & just starting Heartless Hunter.

This was a very fun cat and mouse game between a witch in hiding and a witch hunter set on bringing her to justice. It's full of complex characters with complicated motives and a heart pounding love triangle. The lines between good and bad are very blurred making you question who to trust. The ending moved at a breakneck pace leaving me sitting here impatiently waiting for book 2!

This was fast paced and entertaining but that was about it

Oh I liked this! And I‘m not a fan of romantasy. It felt less YA than many.

Witch, witch vigilante, witch hunter, witch sympathizer … enemies to lovers trope flourishes & a trope I‘m less fond of, miscommunication.

Makes for an interesting plot. The magic is a bit yuck but explained well. The villains are villanous.

I can‘t wait for the second book.

Well I bloody loved this , the best enemies to lovers back to enemies love triangle Iv ever read & the best fantasy since ACOTAR & better than 4th wing , up there with 9th house and hellbent - just my humble opinion. Perfect 👌 easy reading escapism and this lady can write , what a cliff hanger of an ending book 2 out in feb 2025 ! Il be pre ordering that !

This was an enemies to possibly lovers to enemies book. She‘s a witch and he‘s a witch hunter. They both are using the other for their goals.

This is a duology, so I definitely plan to pick up the next book.

Just okay for me. It was somewhat predictable, I figured out the “twist” fairly early and found it a bit formulaic. I will probably continue the series, but this was not the best thing I‘ve read in the genre. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I tried. I made it to 50% because I was hoping for cool witchy world building. Unfortunately, it‘s just another romantasy tropes retread. I don‘t care about any of the characters so I‘m bailing. #hailthebail!

Last summer I decided romantisies might not be my jam as I sped read through steam to return to world building. But I gave this a try and I‘m glad I did. The romance (not too steamy) was integral to the witchy world being built, and I look forward to Book2. This new series‘ use of blood is a little cringey, but I‘m very blood shy🩸

Tropey, twisty, witchy fun! The cat and mouse element was entertaining, the characters were compelling, and the world-building was interesting. I‘ll definitely check out the second book and will look forward to seeing how everything develops! 🎧

This YA fantasy retelling of The Scarlett Pimpernel (one of my favorite books when I was a teenager) is a lot of fun—predictable but an entertaining page turner that kept me engaged. It‘s the first in the series so it leaves you in the thick of it and with plenty of reasons to read the next installment.

Going with witches tonight…that and probably a lot of drama. We‘ll see!
