I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new. Don‘t judge me - I have a lot of books. Join in if you want!

I‘m using the Pop Sugar 2022 Reading Challenge to select backlist from my shelves. So far:
✔️A book about a secret- White Houses
✔️A book with cutlery on cover/in title - The Word is Murder
✔️A book with found family- A Gentleman in Moscow
✔️A book with tiger in title/on cover- Tigers in Red Weather
#MarchStats. Good month. My favorite was I‘ll Have What She‘s Having. It was hard to get through though because I had to google stuff every few pages! I‘m using prompts from the Pop Sugar Reading Challenge to read books from my shelves, so I read the tagged book for the tiger on the cover or in the title prompt.
Some of yesterday‘s fab op shop scores. I travelled home from my family farm to my city pad. It was a pretty good trip. Butt didn‘t get too sore. I got heaps of reading under my belt. I had some time to fill in in Dubbo after my sister & family dropped me off but before the bus left. Only the Red Cross was open unfortunately but Lillimur had free books out the front. Score! How cool are my Elton Johnesque glasses & Ken Done placemats? $10 each!
I‘m filling in today for @Reviewsbylola for #CoverCrush. Since she borrowed my copy of this book I think she will approve of my choice. Day 1 #7Days7covers. I‘m inviting @emilyhaldi to join the fun 😊
August was an ok month for me. I spent too much time with family and friends to get much reading done. But that‘s fine with me! 😃 Tigers in Red Weather was probably my favorite book last month.
Brian took the kids to see Lion King, so my parents and I are spending a quiet, rainy afternoon reading on the porch. Apparently my dad can only read in complete silence. 🙄😆
I over planted tomatoes this year, so today is a day for #audiocooking. The narrator of this book uses that affected, rich east coast voice so well. The audio version is a joy to listen to - you can almost feel the pearls around your neck and the martini in your hand. 🍸
During #puppynaptime today, I‘m finally starting this one for a Goodreads buddy read. We have been joined by Gertrude the cat. 🖤 I sure hope the book is as good as the cover.

Up next....it looks like the beachy summer read I was looking for.

These are my Goodwill purchases!! Aren't those covers beautiful!! Because I'm a sucker for covers I have a book to give away! I bought Crazy Rich Asians from Thriftbooks and the book cover is missing! 😩😩Now I have 2! I haven't ever been disappointed with their books, but I am with this one... I'm too picky! It was only $3.00 tho. It's not one I would want to send as a gift! Anyone in the US interested? First person to comment gets it!
Nice reading for a sunny weather! (Or not) Elegantly written.
1."A murder mystery set among the bored housewives of 1950s New England is a cut above your average beach read." 2."Tigers in Red Weather is an almost unbearably compelling story of liars, lust, and secrets. It heralds the arrival of a fierce literary talent." Entertaining level: ???? #Persefone #booklover #2015Sha #DogsOfLitsy
Holiday read. Soon to be forgotten. Picture: Fushimi Inara, Kyoto, Japan
I'm interpreting #dreamingofawarmerclimate as hot book titles. I don't know what 'red weather' is but it sounds warm #readjanuary
This story about family allows a cast of deeply flawed, yet elegantly crafted characters be the focus. Told from five points of view, the novel explores the idea that the way we see ourselves isn't always harmonious with how the world views us in return.
I'm not sure what I think about this book. I was waiting for something to happen but it never really. It's about a few events from four people's perspectives which I just didn't find that interesting. It's didn't seem to flow for me all.
This was a DNF for me. I got a third through but the story didn't excite me sufficiently to continue. I thought it well written though.
A family of dysfunctional people having problems in (semi) olden times. Also murder. Need I say more...
This was good on audio. Recommended for fans of The Invaders by Karolina Waclawiak.
