so-soAt times this one made me a little uncomfortable, which is not what you want from a romance. Her not telling him something, him knowing she was withholding, I was very aware that one honest discussion and the book could be a lot shorter. Also, the premise of the book, just seemed a bit lazy, a quick fix to make the relationship happen. There didn't seem to be any seduction or chemistry there to trigger the story Kleypas just forced the issue.
pickLisa Kleypas is extremely reliable when it comes to big swoony love stories.
This is lovely and I couldn‘t put it down. Not my favourite Kleypas but still fantastic. I love her heroines and Helen is no exception but Rhys steals this book. Excited to read the other books in this series.
pickI stayed up way too late last night finishing this audiobook! Self-made Welsh businessman Rhys falls for shy Lady Helen in this steamy historical romance. Rhys is not the typical high society hero in that he is the founder and owner of a superb department store which I found quite refreshing in a romance. While the heroine annoyed me at times, the hero was perfection.

I adore all the Ravenels, the twins are especially fantastic. There‘s deeper emotions woven through fun moments of shopping and traveling. This is a book I will probably reread. Winterbourne‘s unromantic romantic lines had me falling.

I started a re-read of this book on my walk with Peri this afternoon. I got so distracted by it, that I forgot to take a picture during our walk like I planned. It's such a pretty day too - sunny and a fresh layer of snow fell yesterday. #audiowalk
pickI love a good mismatched couple and Rhys and Helen are just that.
He's a scruffy, brooding (yes very much so), self-made Welshman while Helen is a bright, quiet, smart gently-bred female of the aristocracy that never left the countryside so I was very much in love with them as a couple already from the previous book.
Rys is that brooding hero with a heart of gold that is just waiting for that one woman to gift everything to & I was just in love 😍
pickBook Two in the Ravenels series, and while I didn‘t enjoy the MC‘s as much as I did in the first book, this was still a fun read. Romance and secrets - I‘ve discovered this is a perfect combination as I evaluate and edit reports at home.

Well I passed the halfway mark for #25infive, finished two books including the tagged book, and read a bit more of a third. Calling it a pretty successful readathon! One of these days I will actually make the goal time...
I enjoyed Marrying Winterborne - the Ravenels are fun and it's great to have a light read for a readathon, especially during a busy and stressful time of year.

panNot very impressed with this book. I'm not a fan of the "F" word and it wasn't appropriate for the time period of this book.
Any other NY/PA people having issues because of this storm? We've got trees down all over - including one in the neighbor's yard which took down a power line... thankfully I have a fully charged kindle! I just hope the power company gets things fixed before I have to throw out an entire fridge full of food 😡
pickWell written and with a good flow. I enjoyed the characters and how they interacted. I'm glad that Rhys proved a better man than Helen expected and loved her regardless of the Secret she held. I'm curious to see what will happen in the future of the characters as they were fun and engaging.

Much like Cold-hearted Rake, I really struggled with the romance in this one, although I didn't enjoy the story quite as much as CHR. I love a romance where you get to explore the characters falling in love but the characters were essentially in love already, it was about the impending "doom" preventing the wedding. Just not my sort of romance, it lacked the kind of depth I've come to expect from LK. #romansty #osrbc
Cold-hearted Rake and Winterborne have been spotted with stuff like this, which is just bizarre from such an accomplished and polished author. It feels like these have been earlier works that have been pulled from the bottom drawer and dusted off. Curious to see how Winterborne turns out.

There is another bit in this story that I wanted to post but I don't want to spoil to much....let's just say it's a letter Rhys writes to Helen. I just melted. pickI will have to say this again and again. Lisa Kleypas knows how to write non-aristocratic characters! Marrying Winterborne did not disappoint! I was initially apprehensive going into this book because of what Rhys did in Cold-Hearted Rake, but he ultimately redeemed himself! Helen also turned out to be quite a strong woman!
