Trying to read my oldies☺️Beach mood
Adam and Eliza went to spend their summer vacation in Isle of Palms with their twins. There, Eliza by chance, met Eve, Adam‘s puppy love, Carl her husband, their daughter and Eve‘s mother. They then spend more summers together for years. This is a family/friends saga with a lot of drama, secrets, almost betrayals like this author used to write. It didn‘t finished as I predicted. It was fun. 3/3.5⭐️

This was a very interesting book. It‘s two couples who meet at the beach for 20 years. It starts off with Adam mentioning to his wife that he has known Eve as a friend from years ago. Eliza and Carl talk a lot about Adam and Eve‘s relationship from years ago. Over the years things start to get out of hand and things get serious and Eliza and Carl are beside themselves.

Productive morning! Not something I would have picked up on my own, but it was September's book club book and I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. Good beachy, quick read; eclectic characters and some interesting concepts to discuss at our book club meeting.

Started this last night. Figure I can get in one more summer beach read before Labor Day.

It wasn't great, it wasn't terrible. I wasn't a fan of most of the characters even after they supposedly redeemed themselves. And Cookie? Lord help me I would have punched that miserable hag in the face.

Should have saved this for the beach but my fur children's chill vibes were rubbing off on me.

I brought this to keep me entertained during any free moments at the middle school band concert. It will be a good beach book for the summer.

YES!! Another great warm weather read! ☀️ 🌊This is a story of friendship and how relationships change with time. I loved watching Eliza transform into a character that stands up for herself and prioritizes herself more as the story progresses. The tension here is just the perfect amount for outside reading - plenty of substance, but not too angsty as to make the story heavy. There is food, romance, travel, trust, and the right amount of drama.

Family, friends, old love, and trust collide in this new book from Dorthea Benton Frank. Could you be friends with your husband's old girlfriend? That is what Eliza must decide as a chance encounter on a family vacation with her husband's former girlfriend changes her life. A celebration of life, love, family, and trust that made for an enjoyable afternoon read and made me love author Dorthea Benton Frank again.
