What am I reading next? I can't decide. 😩

WhatDeeReads I‘ve heard The Power is great! 6y
LeahBergen That Woolf companion looks interesting! 6y
Susannah @WhatDeeReads I am really looking forward to it. Did you read Dietland? I'm hoping The Power lands somewhere between it and Margaret Atwood. 🤓 6y
Susannah @LeahBergen I haven't read anything by Virginia Woolf, and I thought this looked like a good primer on her and the Bloomsbury Group. It's also pre-reading for my (first ever) trip to London next month. I'll be staying in Bloomsbury. 😍 6y
SaraBeagle I just finished The Power today and now I‘m stuck too! Can‘t decide what can follow that one! 6y

I have 17 books left on my #TBR17, books that I want to read, books that I‘m going to read ... eventually. I made the decision to give up on my #tbr17. I‘ve read 133 books this year, my goal was 50. I‘m just going to read. This means I will very likely not finish my #litsyatoz challenge, and I‘m ok with that. I‘m done forcing myself to read certain books when I really want to read ‘Turtles All the Way Down‘ or ‘Slapstick‘

BookBabe 🙌🏻 Good decision! And WOW, congratulations on killing it on your reading goal! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 My Goodreads challenge is set at 50 also, and I thought I did great by reading around 65 books. But 133!!!! Yowza! 6y
Robothugs I support this decision! Reading should be fun and enjoyed, you shouldn‘t feel like you have to do it! Plus, that amount of books read in one year... bravo! 🙌🏻 6y
Clwojick That's what I did this year. 👏 my goal was 100, and I've more than tripled that. I absolutely crushed my goal, and I think that was because I simply read whatever I felt like reading. I learned that I don't like feeling forced to read specific books. So even though the new year hasn't even started, I don't think I'll be doing passport to Litsy anymore next year, or I'll choose 4 instead of 12. Even trying to come up with the titles exhausted me😬 6y

Suelizbeth Wow! Good for you. I disagree with your post, though. You aren‘t giving up. You‘re just readjusting your focus. 6y
susanw Agreed. I keep track of some of the challenges but only read what I want, if it fits in a challenge great, if not, I‘m not going to beat myself up about not completing a random list of book suggested ideas. I try to read diversely, and a wide range of genres, so if I don‘t read a book with a boat on the cover or whatever, I‘m ok with it. 6y
Godmotherx5 You‘ve rocked the year. Good job!! 6y
RebelReader You almost tripled your goal of books read! That's success plus in my book! 😁 6y
MinDea I am so with you on this. I stopped about 4 months ago with litsy A to Z and goodreads Around year in 52 cause I was just not reading the books I wanted to read! Awesome job on 133 book!!! So jealous. I have read 53 🤓. I wish I had more time to read! 6y
julesG Congratulations on reading so much and readjusting your goals. I've also decided not to force myself to finish the Litsy A to Z. 6y
OrangeMooseReads @BookBabe 65 is nothing to sneeze at. 6y
OrangeMooseReads @Clwojick wow that is awesome surpassing your goal by that much 👍🏽 6y
OrangeMooseReads @Suelizbeth that‘s true I am just readjusting. Thanks 6y
OrangeMooseReads @susanw 👍🏽 I decided about a month ago I‘m not doing any challenges or lists next year I‘m just going to read whatever strikes me. 6y
OrangeMooseReads @MinDea there have been so many excellent books published this year and I have read so few of them and I want to read them. 53 is good especially if you have limited time. That‘s just over a book a week and some people don‘t even do that 😁 6y
OrangeMooseReads @julesG I love the #litsyatoz but the books I picked stopped appealing to me. I did readjust it to fit books I did read this year and I‘m really close. 6y
kylienoele This is how I felt about halfway through the year and then I decided to stop doing challenges (except my Goodreads challenge) because there were so many things I wanted to read but kept forcing myself to read others. Reading what you feel like reading is much more fun! 6y
julesG Same here. Just three more books. I adjusted, but find other books so much more attractive. 6y
drokka Yeah, this is why when I join any challenges I do so with the caveat that I'll do it until it feels like work. My approach now is, if the book fits in a challenge then Yay! If not, then I'm no worse for it. 6y
Karkar I feel the same way. I have a really hard time reading if it is like an “assignment “ to my brain. 6y
AmandaL You had a great reading year! 6y
OrangeMooseReads @Karkar my mood has taken over and the rebel in me is fighting the assigned list lol 6y

That moment when you realize you forgot the book you were reading in the other room and have to decide whether to go get it or just dig into another book that's closer. Decisions, decisions. 🤔

I decided to add books for September, but not take away my August accomplishments. I've already started one of these and will be adding another soon, since I usually keep a paper book going along with an ebook. But darn it, no books from my audio collection are included! #TBRBingo

Ashley_Nicoletto Look at you go! 👏🏼 7y

L_auren Hunger. 7y

dariazeoli Hunger is a must 7y
LeahBergen Zeitoun (if you feel like some good nonfiction). 😄 7y
ReadingEnvy I have The Glass Eye up soon but I'd go with Hunger or The Essex Serpent. 7y
WhatDeeReads Hunger! 7y
BriKie The Essex Serpent 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Looks like Hunger is in the lead. I'll give it a try tonight! 7y
Lmstraubie I've been hearing so much about this one 7y
ValerieAndBooks The only one I've read here (and did like) is Zeitoun, but I am curious what you think of The Essex Serpent! 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @xicanti I have wanted to read The Gargoyle forever. Soon! 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @LeahBergen Zeitoun is the last book for my challenges this year. Not sure I'm ready to be done with them yet! 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @ReadingEnvy I just read a book that was deeply depressing, and now I'm reading Hunger which is also so heavy. Who knows what I'll do when I need to read The Glass Eye. 😰 7y
WhatDeeReads @BarbaraTheBibliophage It's heavy, and also beautiful and so absolutely relatable. 7y
kspenmoll I am behind due to fabulous vacation but must start bingo cards. Bad sign when I am dreaming of new bookcases... 7y

Hmmm... I've narrowed down my stack, but what to read next? What book would be good to end my evening with? #24in48 I'm going to find a comic to cleanse my palette. Then I will choose.

Decisions decisions.... Continue with the first episode of American Gods or dive into Wonder Boys again. Loving both (and both a good example of great books with great screen adaptations). Seriously can't decide!

1) Wine
2) First page
3) Forest, but like @Bklover mentioned, with a hat on ? and tea tree oil for the insect bites
4) Realistic
5) Darcy would be glowering & insulting my family, Rochester would be like "Btw, I've hidden my wife in the cupboard" & it's hard to choose between Elizabeth & Jane. Ok, Jane, I think. Love Lizzy but she might mock me if I don't get the jokes, etc.

#bookishwouldyourather @Kalalalatja

merelybookish Definitely Jane! 7y
Bklover I forgot tea tree oil!!! 😳 7y
Kalalalatja Good answers! 7y

batsy @Bklover 😁 7y
batsy @Kalalalatja thank you for the fun questions 😊 7y
Centique I love answer 5! 😂😂 Been trying to put into words why I wouldn't date Darcy or Rochester but you've nailed it! Jane it is 😋 7y
batsy @Centique Haha, thank you! They'd be difficult to deal with, those two 😁 7y
