Started reading this and Dragonlance and they are sooo good!!😊 Wonder which one I‘ll finish first?
5🌟
As you can probably guess by how much I tabbed this book..I absolutely loved it!!!
You like Throne of Glass? Read this.
I love the Throne of Glass series but did not care much at all for book 1. Red Queen blew Throne of Glass out of the water!! It's like a whole entire fantasy series in 383pgs. I have no idea where this series is going to go from here but I cannot wait to read it!
👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
Currently *~o b s e s s e d~*...with this book
can't.

Should I be starting a new series whilst in the middle of so many others?
-
nope.

Am I going to anyway?
-
yupp.
🙃
This has been on my shelf forever, and I was excited to dive in.
Unfortunately, I wanted to like it more than I did.
It is your standard ordinary girl who turns out to be special and thrown into the elite world with a rebellion coming.
The main heroine never grew on me. It was more of a narration of what happened that never actually pulled me into the story.
I read the plot synopsises for the rest of the series, and that was enough for me.
Mare Barrow is a Red. In her world, Reds are the servers. Silvers are who they serve - elites, the ones with supernatural power. What if things aren‘t that simple? What if Reds are not powerless? Revolution, loyalty, betrayal, love, friendship and family all play key roles in this young adult fantasy plot. This is the first in a series. After the heart pounding conclusion, I can‘t wait to read the next. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 /5 ❤️📚 #serieslove2023
In an attempt to get back to my #serieslove2023 goals, I‘m reading the first in the Red Queen series. ❤️📚

I took the prompt to mean betrayal. The first book I thought of was Red Queen.
So late today not sure who to tag. If you want to play feel free to join in.
Though not the most original story, the millennial quippy-ness (at one particular line I even paused the the audiobook to look up the age of the author) and the pace of the story kept me engaged throughout. Overall, Red Queen was a great way to occupy my mind while I worked and commuted, and I‘ll be following it up with the sequels.

1. I totally want to be friends with Patricia Briggs and Darynda Jones.
2. All sorts of places. Litsy primarily, but also book e-newsletters, Goodreads, IG, friends, just browsing bookstores or the library
3. I‘m not sure it‘s completely unpredictable, but there‘s a good twist in the tagged‘s plot.

The Red Queen series is fantastic, and I love it not only because it's great, but also because it made me fall in love with Victoria Aveyard as a writer! 😍❤️📚
Why does YA for girls ALWAYS have a "romance", granted this was written less boy crazy from others but still, boy YA books don't have these themes ?. Anywho...pretty predictable so not sure if I'll continue with the series. Really only read it because my niece recommended and now she's busy with school so we couldn't "book club"... BOO
I had to DNF this book because I found that I wasn‘t motivated enough to finish it. Plus there were other books that I wanted to read instead. What I read of this book I though it was just alright. Rating: 3 ⭐️
This book really moves! It surprised me quite a few times. I could not put it down. Finished it in two days. 🤣 Can't wait to start the next. Thinking of reading the novellas here before starting Glass Sword. I was advised not to start with them even though they are a prequel.
This was a solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for me. I‘m beginning to think though that this is simply not an author for me. There were moments this story seemed to drag. Although I enjoyed it I won‘t continue the series. #100readschallenge #readingchallenge2022
I don't know why so many people hated this book--I loved it. It had all the elements of a good dytopia with some major plot twists. I didn't like the love triangle though, bleh. Love quadrant? Speaking of which, Kilorn is totally Gale. Anyway, can't wait to read the next book.
I went to three different charity shops today and this is what I got 🤩
I cannot put into words the way this book made me feel. I‘m not exaggerating AT ALL when i say that the plot twist made me have to stop reading and go take a walk before i started to rip the book. Maven, the shadow of the flame, my all-time favourite fantasy character ever, betrayed Mare (the main character). RIGHT AFTER i developed an emotional attachment to him. He didn‘t just betray Mare, he betrayed every reader who believed he could change.
Book that #BeginsWith #Red Day 5: As I was reading the book, I kept thinking that I am already familiar with this kind of narrative, except that it has been written better and more cohesively-presented in other stories. My review: https://wp.me/pDlzr-b5p
Can‘t wait to start this book.
Have you read it? What were your thoughts?

Even though I went to get some books for my baby nephew, I couldn‘t walk out without getting a few for myself. 😅🙈

This was an amazing book and i really enjoyed the audiobook too.
@TheAromaofBooks this was my September #bookspin ♥️
Read this book. It‘s amazing, it was hard to get into at first and I almost bailed on it. But i‘m glad i didn‘t.
This was one of those books where you stay up later then you‘d like to to finish it. For a short time in the early middle, I thought it was pretty boring. But then, the plot picked up and I couldn‘t put it down. 5⭐️
#LittensDressedInBlood day 3
I don‘t know if the twists in Red Queen or American Gods counts as jaw dropping, but both had a plot twist. (Although in the case of Red Queen, the title might give it away.) but these are the two I thought of as I don‘t read thrillers where you get the OMG! kind of plot twists.
I think I enjoyed this way more than I initially thought I would. It got off to a bit of a rough/slow start but by the midway point I was hooked. I did see some of the plot twists coming but that didn't take away from my overall enjoyment. This book reminded me a lot of Red Rising at times which could be why I enjoyed it so much. I was a fun read and I need to get my hands on book two as soon as possible

I said from the beginning that I knew I wasn‘t going to love this book. If it wasn‘t an audiobook that I listened to while doing mindless tasks, I probably wouldn‘t have finished it at all. The sequel is waiting for me but I have no desire to see where this story leads right now. Maybe if I don‘t find another audiobook I‘ll try it out.
About 2 hours in & I‘m still not sure I‘m going to finish it but I‘ll keep going for now. Since I mostly listen to my audiobooks while driving, sometimes having a book I don‘t need to pay all that much attention to is nice 😅
My biggest issue with this book is the main character. She‘s a cliche trope of the overly independent girl that‘s not stereotypically feminine. I get those characters are supposed to be “empowering” but I find it limiting.
Started RED QUEEN as my new commute audiobook. So far it feels like another stereotypical YA novel of your “average” girl finding out she‘s actually special and ends up in a weird love… pyramid. This might be. DNF for me but I‘ll give it another hour before deciding.
What YA trope are you entirely over seeing?
I haven't enjoyed a book this much since I read the darkest mind books... I couldn't put it down! I love these characters so much. I give it 5/5🍪
Usually it‘s difficult for me to pick up a new book with a plot I‘ve yet to dive into, but this book, with the characters and their relationships with one another, really took me for a spin. I‘ve come to find that the books with the biggest plot twists are the ones that I can‘t seem to put down!
