Maybe this would be to solution to friends not returning books you lent them! 🤔 https://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/protect-your-library-the-medieval-way-with...
My youngest is 13. This passage evoked warm memories of my time as a mommy of little ones. #readingmommy
Lot of horrible Goodreads reviews, especially from people who #dnf. I‘m really enjoying this novel that goes back & forth between a novel of 1920 Russian Jewish #immigrants & the friends who shared the novel in the 70s. I found it hard to follow the switch between the 2 storylines at first but once I realized I needed to give it a little more attention at the beginning, it got much easier as you became invested in the characters. #worthtrying
Hahaha! Is anyone else like this with their books? 😃
This is totally the rules I'm telling people from now on! 😂
1. I once loaned copies of my very favorite books to someone who then sold all of them to a used bookstore. Now the only people I share my books with are my kids.
2. I read across multiple genres, usually at the same time. It depends on my mood.
3. Nope my shelves hold lots of treasures besides my books.

Pretty right on! Except for the not returning books part, I always return them, I will probably just have to borrow again though 🤣

I only read about 20 pages but that was enough. The writing style is very unstructured and just hops from one thought to another - so much so that I didn't even notice at first that there was a formatting error in my Kindle edition that put a few lines where they didn't belong! I don't care if this is for book club; there are too many good books to read to waste time on this. It will be interesting to see if anyone in book club reads it.
Starting this for book club. It has pretty bad reviews on goodreads and only 50% here on litsy, so I have pretty low expectations. I'm not looking forward to having to read a book that not very good, so I think I'll just read a little bit every day and I'll bail if it's really bad.
The cat decided that she needed to be on my lap at the same time I was trying to take the picture 😸
✨ I get asked alot if someone can borrow my books, and I have yet to actually let anyone borrow one of my babies. I literally have a two paged contract that you have to sign, otherwise, go buy the damn thing yourself! Or hey! Library's are still magical place and library cards are very useful. No need for book borrowing. ✨📚😈🙅❌
Long story short, I lent the book my bookclub picked to someone in June and now it's one week before the meeting and I still don't have it back. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ #booklendingfail #lessonlearned
Day #9 #alliterativetitles #marchintoreading I was too lazy to get a step stool in order to retrieve my copies of Jane Austen's P&P and S&S, but here are some other books with alliterative titles from my shelves.
