Sinner
Sinner | Tess Gerritsen
21 posts | 69 read | 2 reading | 9 to read
Not even the icy temperatures of a typical New England winter can match the bone-chilling scene of carnage discovered at the chapel of Our Lady of Divine Light. Within the cloistered convent lie two nuns one dead, one critically injured victims of an unspeakably savage attacker. The brutal crime appears to be without motive, but medical examiner Maura Isles s autopsy of the dead woman yields a shocking surprise: Twenty-year-old Sister Camille gave birth before she was murdered. Then another body is found, mutilated beyond recognition. Together, Isles and homicide detective Jane Rizzoli uncover an ancient horror that connects these terrible slaughters. As long-buried secrets come to light, Maura Isles finds herself drawn inexorably toward the heart of an investigation that strikes close to home and toward a dawning revelation about the killer s identity too shattering to consider."

Leant to me by a friend - great thriller/ murder mystery. I struggled to put this down. I noticed after I finished it was book 3 in a series containing the two main female protagonists - you don't need to read the others beforehand, but I will definitely circle back and read others from Tess Gerritsen.

BookishMadHatter That's such a good series 2y

Bk2 of February 2022 is done! The 3rd Rizzoli book is one of my favourites in the series. It introduces Father Brophy & both Maura & Jane are given more depth. A bitterly cold Xmas in Boston & a young nun is found bludgeoned to death in the Abbeys chapel, another nun barely hanging onto life. When Maura finds the dead nun had recently given birth, complications arise. Love this one. #BookspinBingo #SeriesRead2022 #Pop22 #Pageathon #PennyPerPage👇

Lizpixie Oh, and Neville my library philodendron loved it too😋 #52BookClubRC2022 #FinishingTheSeries2022 #NerdyBookwormRC #CloakDaggerChal #BooklistQueenRC 3y

This one held my attention well. It also diverged the characters more thoroughly from their TV counterparts. Lots of plot differences. I could have done without the rats though.

This one is about Nuns in Our Lady Of Divine Light.
Camille was murdered after she gave birth, another one was attacked savagely.
Got me from the first page, really good

Loving my current read. NOT loving the sticker that won't come off of the cover. Boo!!

leahbird I have complained to and then boycotted stores for using stickers that don't come off easily. For me it's totally unacceptable. #MajorPetPeeve 6y
WhatThePuck I didn't finish this series bc I loaned out the books and never got them back. I need to get back into them. Sticker placement is unacceptable. 6y
tracey38 Inhate those stickers! Why oh why do they do that? 6y

HippieChickHomeschool Blast it with the blow dryer on hot. It helps melt the adhesive and it should come off easier. Stubborn stickers take multiple blasts, but it‘s always worked for me. 6y
Traci1 @WhatThePuck aw that stinks. I've been slowly buying them as I find them used. It's a great series. 6y
Traci1 @HippieChickHomeschool thanks for the tip. I'll try that. ☺ 6y
Traci1 @tracey38 I don't know. It's not like the price isn't printed right above the bar code. And places that mark them down have shelf labels with the prices on them. At least if you're going to use labels, don't use ones that won't easily peel off. Grrr... 6y
WhatThePuck Hey @Traci1, how much do you know about betterworldbooks.com? It's where I bought mine used. 😁 6y
Traci1 @WhatThePuck I've not heard of them. I'll give them a shot. I'm still missing 7 of them. 6y
WhatThePuck @Traci1 you could probably find them in the "bargain bin" for $3.95, hardback. I try not to buy new and I love their $4 books! 6y
LibrarianRyan Hair dryer will help take the sticker off. 6y
Tanner I use GooGone on stickers - usually works well. 6y

I just love a Tess Gerritsen book and I just love this Rizzoli series. This is the third book and is equally as page turning as the others. The author is extremely gory and can make your stomach turn with just a few words. I can't wait to read the next. If you haven't read a Tess Gerritsen book, then you really should!

I really should listen to audio books more often, especially with as much driving as I have to do every week. This one is off to an interesting start. 🎧📚
