pickA cute graphic novel - pretty much what it says on the tin. Girl meets bear. Bear - who doesn‘t talk and spends winter hibernating - is somehow a better boyfriend than human men she has dated. A fun but unexpected romance!

I've been looking forward to reading this for awhile now. I think today is the perfect day for it! 😁 My husband's reaction to the cover and title was priceless! 😂
pickI was worried that this human plus bear romantic comedy might be too weird, but it‘s just right. Sweet, funny and surprisingly real. A #graphicnovel with plenty of heart.
The day-to-day relationship stuff is pretty funny with a real bear as Nora‘s boyfriend.

My morning reads pushed me past my Goodreads goal! Really enjoyed "Nothing Can...", a high school GN without the hyper-melodramatic BS. "Screwhead" was strange, but, by the author's own admission, never meant for public distribution.
"My Boyfriend is a Bear" was just weird. Sincere and sweet, but the couple were in their own fairy tale bubble while everyone else is questioning the sanity and safety of the situation.

pickThis graphic novel was so sweet! I first heard about this from Margot Wood on YouTube, she‘s formerly from Epic Reads but now works for Oni Press, the graphic novel publishers that this is from. Once you get past the fact she‘s dating a real black bear(complete with sexy time, adult themed panels)you just live for how cute & sweet it is. Bear kinda reminds me of the hubby, great at cuddles, loves his kitty, terrible at cleaning up his crap.10⭐️

Yes, I know. It‘s an inter species relationship which a lot of people will go ewww about. But if you suspend belief for awhile, it‘s a very sweet story.

The art on this is gorgeous; I especially loved the hibernation art. A sweet romance (featuring a garbage mum and bestie)! tw: cat death (from old age)
Cat Farris (the artist) was at #ALAAC18 and has the most adorable signature for this book!

It was described as weird, funny, sweet and romantic and after yesterday‘s news I decided this sounded like just what I needed. Downloaded on a whim, and so glad I did!
It was exactly that... cute, quirky, and made me smile.... 💕👍📚
so-so3⭐️ I cant decide if I liked this book. It's a love story of a woman and bear. The bear is everything she has ever wanted in a man, and she loves him. The bear is not anipahorphic, it does not talk, but it does get a job, fix things, etc. The panel about mating season being fun… Can‘t get that one out of my head. Especially when there is an illustration later in the book of 2 bears mating, that the human bear mating thing ...eeeeeee.

pickThis was a breath of fresh air for me. I was truly surprised at how deep and touching this story was, and appreciated how different it was from the majority of graphic novels that I tend to read. I loved the main character Nora, and sympathized with her never ending struggle to find a decent, and respectful man that will treat her right. She ends up meeting Bear, and falling in love with him. ⬇️⬇️ continued below⬇️⬇️

pickNora has dated quite a few douche bags in her day. (She said it...) It is no surprise that she wants her next boyfriend to be a CUDDLER! Good Listener! Brave! Smart! Funny! A homebody & outdoorsy fella. WHEW! Clearly she's not one to settle but she knows it's going to be rough finding the guy. Perhaps that why she's so open to a relationship with the bear that pursues her later that evening.
Cute but maybe a little too real, not whimsical.
