Language like this is what I love about historical romances! Also, how fantastic is the word "besotted"??

I think I may have found a new favorite historical romance. Jessica is the best heroine - honestly, the way she is with Dane is absolutely perfect. Shooting him? Amazing! Dane has problematic moments, but it‘s a 1995 book, so ya know. He is a jerk, but has his reasons. There‘s sweet moments, hilarious moments and overall one of the best books I‘ve read in a long time.
This is a classic of the genre and I read it a long time ago because it tops people's lists. Just finished a reread and I think it isn't a great starting point for romance but that it IS a stone cold classic (so long as you can put the ambient issues of 1995 aside - my least favorite is the queerphobia with the villain, but take your pick!). Dain has such incredible levels of being a feelings idiot, and Jess rules! Lord of Scoundrels!
This books was bananas in the best way. I love how practical Jessica is and how annoyed she was to be falling for Seb. Woman had no patience for his nonsense and was just like, I will wait till you are done. Seb is such a damaged baby that only learned the worst. I like where he ends but he is still terrible. #romantsy
Y'all, look at this cover for my Libby borrow! I am here for this cheesy cover so much. Also super excited to read this one after hearing about it from a few people recently.

I liked the chemistry between these two characters very much. Some readers of this book do not think Dain grovels enough over how he treats Jess throughout the book, but I honestly think one of the things she loves about him is his grumpiness and sarcasm.

I just got home from work and very happy for the weekend. I have two books I want to read and finish this weekend. The Fated Mates podcast is discussing Lord of Scoundrels on Wednesday's episode. And the Tessa Bailey book is an ARC.
Well, I‘m off work this weekend, so I signed up for #24in48 at the last minute, then ran around my house trying to gather a TBR. Here are some strong options. Good thing I have half the library checked out still 🙄
I‘ll start with the tagged romance novel (on my kindle) and mood read it out from there. Good luck, everybody!
Started this #romantsy classic this afternoon at the gym. I was surprised to see different cover art when I opened the ebook I‘d downloaded. The cover on the left was the one on my library‘s #Libby site, while the one on the right was in the actual downloaded file. Fun to see how romance covers have changed over time!
How is it possible that I had never read this book? So great! Historical Romance at its finest, and a perfect choice for my LONG day of travel yesterday 👌🏽🔥 #romantsy
Finally reading this one today! A historical romance classic. So far, SO, SO good!
If this isn't perfection I don't know what is. Loving this book. #romantsy That said, my heart is with TX - thinking of you at this devastating time.
I'm finally listening to Lord of Scoundrels, which is the #historicalromance everyone is shocked I haven't read. #romantsy
Truly delightful
This has been in my to read book list for years, I even thought I had read it, but no. It was a surprise meeting the leads, knowing they are not young adults and the life that they have made for each other is an accepted one. I adored both begrudgingly gave their love a chance.
I feel like everyone loves this book, but I am STRUGGLING. Dain is driving me up the wall with his insistence at interpreting everything Jess does as manipulation. It's not unrealistic, but I'm about to throw the book out the damn window if he doesn't start growing up at some point! 🙄 #romantsy
A classic! I'm a sucker for bluestocking heroines, and this one won't take any nonsense, especially from the rakish hero. The book deals with some serious subject matter, and also has humor. I love Loretta Chase's writing. #romantsy #historicalromance #kindle #deal
Loved this! Just what I needed on a sick day - a clever heroine, a sexy hero, and fireworks between them. #romantsy
"He was too busy searching Dain's Dictionary for a definition of his state - and too confused by what he read there - to realize that Miss Jessica Trent's grey eyes had taken on the drunkenly bewildered expression of a respectable spinster being seduced in spite of herself." #romantsy #osrbc
Read this one for the first time and I TOTALLY get what all the fuss is about. Jessica is such a BADASS. Also, I love her grandmother. #romantsy
I have three books that I go back to on a regular basis. I own them in every format that they are available in. A Kiss at Midnight by Eloisa James, Texas Destiny by Lorraine Heath, and Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase. I will even fall asleep listening to the audiobook of A Kiss at Midnight...better than being read a fairy tale. ❤ #romantsy #osrbc
I know that most of the ladies of #osrbc have read this, but this is another book I could return to again and again. Between the clodpole Dain, Jessica, and Bertie, they really got me hooked.
Perfect sick-day read. Fun, cute, and easy, but not too simple.
I loved this story! One of her best, superb! Have already read twice and may read again.

Lived up to all the hype I've heard about it! So good.
For #recommendsday I was listening to Avon Books' podcast with Sarah MacLean as they discussed Lord of Scoundrels - possibly the most PERFECT romance novel. Sexy, witty, and unputdownable.
eBooks aren't exciting photographic material. Sorry!
Recommended to me as I get started exploring the romance genre. A good way to start!
