“We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow sometimes in one dimension, and not in another; unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative. We are mature in one realm, childish in another. The past, present, and future mingle and pull us backward, forward, or fix us in the present. We are made up of layers, cells, constellations.” 🐞
10:11pm 🌒We‘ve just got back half an hour ago to the hotel and the babies are so tired they‘ve fell straight to sleep. It‘s a big adventure for them (and my daughters first time at the coast!) so bedtimes be damned! Now they‘re asleep though it‘s time for reading and a cold drink for mama. #bookaddict #anaisnin #bookish #bookstamums #booklover #bookblog #bookworm #bedsidestack
Hi lovelies ?The kind lady at the hotel gave me her WiFi password so I am able to pop by and say hi. I won‘t be “active” but I‘ll now be able to share fun holiday snaps. Right now I‘m enjoying the Diary of Anaïs Nin VOL I with ocean views whilst the little ones play on the park with my sister and Dad — I‘m grandma sitting but she‘s asleep ?Later we‘re off to the aquarium!??#bookaddict #booklover #anaisnin

“To me the truth is something which cannot be told in a few words, and those who simplify the universe only reduce the expansion of its meaning.”

I have not read Anais Nin. Any recommendation which is a good book to start with?

I think I'm caught up now! Thanks @LeahBergen @CrowCAH for letting me finish the challenge. It was a lot of fun!

My other obsession. ❤ There are more books on top that didn't fit into the square crop.
Day 13 of #riotgrams is Pink covers. Well those are it. All the pink books I could find in the house. My hubby pointed to one other in another room. I guess my eyes do not get drawn to pink much.
Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born.
There is not one big cosmic meaning for all; there is only the meaning we each give to our life, an individual meaning, an individual plot, like an individual novel, a book for each person.
I am an excitable person who only understands life lyrically, musically, in whom feelings are much stronger as reason. I am so thirsty for the marvelous that only the marvelous has power over me. Anything I can not transform into something marvelous, I let go. Reality doesn't impress me. I only believe in intoxication, in ecstasy, and when ordinary life shackles me, I escape, one way or another. No more walls.
Anaïs Nin
Ordinary life does not interest me. I seek only the high moments. I am in accord with the surrealists, searching for the marvelous.
A fascinating peek into the mind of a brilliant writer, set amid Europe's political turmoil in the decade prior to WWII.
A fascinating look inside the mind and daily life if one if France's great female writers. Poetic, emotional, honest, exhilarating, and if course, occasionally heart-wrenching.
