Blomkvist, convinced of Salanders innocence, plunges into an investigation of the murders. Meanwhile, Salander herself is drawn into a murderous game of cat and mouse, which forces her to face her dark past. The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest Lisbeth Salander lies in critical condition, a bullet wound to her head, in the intensive care unit of a Swedish city hospital. With the help of Mikael Blomkvist, she will not only have to prove her innocence, but also identify and denounce those in authority who have allowed the vulnerable, like herself, to suffer abuse and violence. On her own, she will plot revengeagainst the man who tried to kill her, and against the corrupt government institutions that very nearly destroyed her life. Unique and fascinating . . . Day 7 - #strongheroine #31bookpics

Lisbeth Salander
Salander first appeared in the 2005 novel The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (original Swedish title, Män som hatar kvinnor, literally "Men who hate women" in English). She reappeared in its sequels: The Girl Who Played with Fire (2006), The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest (2007), The Girl in the Spider's Web (2015), and The Girl Who Takes an Eye for an Eye (2017).

This trilogy made the strongest impression on me! Reading books, I felt different emotions: interest, indignation, pride, anger ... And I wasn't indifferent! For me it's the most important thing in reading books! I also love the Swedish movie adaptation of books!💻🐉

This was one of my favorite trilogies that I've ever read. I read it a few months ago so it isn't a very recent read but I highly highly recommend it. The setting was rich but not overly descriptive. The characters were raw but also evolved over the course of the book. I found lisbeth sanders to be one of the most relatable people I've ever read about or met in person to be honest with her various quirks.

By far my go-to best series. Could barely keep these out of my hands. Not for the feint of heart. Very sensitive content, hard to read through some of it with all the detail. I felt as if I was feeling her pain, revenge, as if I were her.
Very heartbreaking that Steig Larsson had passed in 2004. He had plans to make 10 or so more. Only 3 were made. I would love to find more of this type. If anyone has any recommendations please holla.

#RiotGram I know, Hello Captain Obvious but honestly who is a better #BadAssHeroine than Lisbeth Salander?!?

shawnmooney Lol. "Captain Obvious"! My best friend uses it, the only person I know who uses it, and I used it today for the first time ever on Litsy. And now I see your post.??? 8y
Cinfhen @shawnmooney I haven't used that expression in awhile, and I did notice your post this morning, so it must have been on my mind. Your posts have seeped into my brain flow 😘 (edited) 8y

Let's go, start a new adventure! Hopefully I like it!

DaniRa I loved that series but it is intense! I had to take a break in between each book lol. Enjoy 😊 8y
tpixie Yes. I liked it also. But very dark! Not happy, but good! 8y
Reviewsbylola I found the first book a little slower to get into. So maybe keep that in mind. This is one of the best series I have ever read though. 8y

The Millenium Trilogy (by Stieg Larsson) consists of the mystery novel, ' Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'; the action novel, 'The Girl who Played with Fire'; and the courtroom drama, 'The Girl who Kicked the Hornets' Nest.' Mikael Blomkvist, an activist-journalist, teams up with the brilliant but enigmatic computer hacker Lisbeth Salander in this Swedish trilogy read by BBC-trained British narrator Simon Vance #audiobookpantheon #recommendsday

Throwback to when we could read outside, and it was sunny and warm. Although I love the fall and curling up under a blanket🍁
The Millenium trilogy is one of the best I've read, it was really interesting and intriguing and Lisbeth is one of my all-time favorite characters, not just females characters but characters. Period. She is very complex and unusual but so intelligent and you can't not love her😄

I don't read a lot of mysteries or thrillers. I don't know why because when I do, I really enjoy them! One of my favorites is the Millennium Trilogy. #funfridayphoto

I'm counting this as a bonus #girlcrush because Lisbeth Salander is a brilliant, beautiful badass! #octphotochallenge

britt_brooke @kaysreadinglife They're so good! Have you read the fourth book written by that other author? I haven't yet. I'm not sure if I want to. 8y

[DELETED] 2232195534 Yes, I have read it. I liked it, but it is different. Simon Vance narrates the trilogy and also the Spider Web book. I think that helped - same voice. 😀 8y

On Monday I reviewed the latest Lisbeth Salander book, so for #TBT I thought I'd talk about the original trilogy. I love these books! The first one is a great family generational murder mystery, the second is an exciting fugitive on the run story, and the third is a political/courtroom thriller!
