Six Tudor Queenn - Jane Seymour: The Haunted Queen | 
pickJane Seymour as such a short chapter in the Tudor Era, that it is hard to find many good novels written about her. But this much dramatized novel however feels spot on when it comes to historical fact. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and the narrator, Rosalyn Landor made it totally engrossing from start to finish.
pickContinuing my journey through the Six Tudor Queens series, and am still Tudor obsessed. I really wasn‘t into the “haunted” aspect, but it wasn‘t over done. The author consulted with present day medical practitioners and came up with a much more plausible (to me) cause of death for JS. I knew little about this queen and very much enjoyed this read. 3/5👑s (next up, my favorite Anne of Cleve!!!)

pickVery good. Enjoyed reading about a lesser known wife of Henry VIII. Explores her early life and her courtship with Henry. Well researched and written.

pickWelll researched and written, the third in the Six Tudor Queens series. Jane Seymour is not the most exciting of Henry VIII‘s wives - she‘s a bit too demure and pious - but the author has done a great job of bringing her alive and filling in the gaps.
pickI‘m a big fan of Alison Weir‘s royal biographies, so I was excited to try her fiction.
True to form, Weir‘s writing and research is impeccable. I must admit, however, that I found it slow-going and a bit disjointed at first. It wasn‘t until 40 percent of the way through that I found myself catching momentum. I‘m a sucker for a love story — even a doomed one.
The historical afterward is perfection.

pickPub date May 15: Another #SixTudorQueens novel from #AlisonWeir. Not as much is known about Jane Seymour, as hardly any artifacts or letters were left from her short 3 yr reign. Weir dubs her The Haunted Queen, weighed by guilt about Anne‘s demise and her inability to halt Henry and Cromwell‘s pilfering and ruin of the churches. As I have found all of these books in the series, it was entertaining with the kicker being the Author‘s Note.
bailedI‘m usually a fan of Alison Weir‘s historical fiction but I had to bail on this book. Parts were rushed and choppy while other sections dragged on. Jane Seymour was one of the less interesting wives of Henry VIII so I think that‘s why this story seemed tedious. #arc #netgalley
If you enjoy the Tudor period, I recommend #SixTudorQueens series by #AlisonWeir. I‘ve enjoyed the two previous books on Katherine Aragon The True Queen and Anne Boleyn A Kong‘s Obession. It‘s nice to learn more about the not as popular queens and we have three more books in the series to look forward to!
