Violet finds friendship with Audrey when they are both working on the set of the filming of Gone with the Wind. This is a cute story that incorporates the history of the movie with the lives of people working in Hollywood during the golden age of film. If you love Gone with the Wind then you will enjoy this book. Frankly, I don‘t give a damn!;)
Not how I saw it going but it held my attention and it was a.l nice easy read.
#Confession I have NOT read ANY of these books...but they sound like they would definitely feature #SunsetBoulevard #OldTimeHollywoodGlam #MelodiousMusicals @CrowCAH Has anyone read any of these titles??? I'm most intrigued by Marlene💕
Solid book with an enjoyable story. Nothing outstanding but it definitely made me want to check out more of her books.
I was about to start reading this (I've been looking forward to it) when I looked at the back and realized that it is yet another book with a dual timeline. After just finishing two others with this structure and not particularly liking their use of the structure, I think I'll save this for another time 😥
Brought home some historical fiction from the library today. I've never read anything from Susan Meissner, but I can't resist a story about Old Hollywood. Duels and Deception is Cindy Anstey's new book & I just read Love Lies and Spies by her which was fun and sweet.
I might be a little biased since this book happens to be dedicated to me (squee 🎉) but this is an AWESOME book! The story is so unique and engaging, I couldn't put it down. You are swept into Hollywood and the lives of these two friends. Couldn't put it down!
An interview with many times over international bestselling author Susan Meissner for WomenWritersWomen['s]Books magazine. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed doing it. :) http://booksbywomen.org/qa-with-susan-meissner-by-mm-finck/
"Why do you love me?" He laughed. "Do we have to have reasons?" "Don't we?" He leaned over and kissed her cheek. "No. We don't. I don't think it's love if there are reasons. Reasons are for why you like someone." #Hollywood
Read an ARC. Love the film set setting. Interesting exploration of a form of adoptive motherhood.
