Can this wedding be saved?Up-and-coming floral designer Cara Kryzik is about to score the wedding of a lifetime one that will solidify her career as the go-to-girl for Savannah society nuptials. The only problem is, life seems to be conspiring against her. Cara's implacable father, "The Colonel," doesn't believe in Cara's business savvy and is about to call in his twenty-thousand-dollar loan. Then, on the morning that someone steals her dog, Cara's refrigerator goes on the blink, turning twelve thousand dollars' worth of gorgeous blooms into road kill. And if that's not enough, the dog-napper, Jack Finnerty, turns up at her latest wedding and then mysteriously leaves her stranded on the dance floor. All this turmoil will be solved if Cara can pull off the lavish Trappnell-Strayhorn wedding. The payday will solve all her problems even the looming problem of a celebrated florist named Cullen Keane who is moving into her turf from Charleston. But the wedding is in six weeks, the bride is acting strangely (even for a bride) and the stepmother of the bride is becoming Cara's biggest headache. What Cara needs is to focus, but that's not easy when Jack is turning up at every wedding in Savannah (the man seems to know everybody), with Cara in his sights and seduction on his mind. When Brooke Trappnell spirals into a shocking crisis and the wedding is in jeopardy, Cara must come to the rescue and figure out what she really believes in. Is it love? Is it her own strength? In the end, for everyone, "Save the Date" has more meanings than one. Told with Mary Kay Andrews's trademark wit and keen eye for detail, "Save the Date" is one you won't want to miss."

Well, that flew by quickly. 😅 We‘re already on the final day of #AwesomeAugust, and I‘ve finished all but one of my goals thanks to a very productive day of reading yesterday. Hoping to read one of my NetGalleys once I‘ve finished the tagged book.

Currently sitting at 58.5 hours. 💗

Andrew65 Superb 👏👏👏🙌🙌 4y

Can‘t think of a better location to get lost in a contemporary romance. Cora is a struggling florist but this small business owner is a strong independent woman. I loved attending all the weddings in this book. So fun. 4⭐️ #2020book9

Save The Date by Mary Kay Andrews was a really enjoyable read, although I will say it was very predictable but not in a bad way. There were no real surprises, just a simple, fun, relaxing read.

These books are always a quick, light, fun read, and I love Savannah! #ReadingUSA2019 #Georgia

NatalieR I‘ve never read this author. Sounds like a good pick when I‘m in need of something light and easy. 🙂 6y
Librarybelle I love light and fluffy books, especially after reading a dense book! 6y

Realised I hadn't shared anything from the wedding in a while. Sorry for the bad photo, current phone camera is seriously lacking. These are our Save The Dates. The back tells the person which parts they are invited to. I hand stamped every single one of these. It was worth it.

julesG 😍 6y
abookishbutterfly We used those library cards as invitations, too. ❤️ I love your clever wording. Very sweet. 6y
laurieluna @Butterflyamore We need to put quite a bit of info on ours as its over 2 venues and involves a museum so we need to make the proper invites a bit bigger. Going with a book theme there too with either Game of Thrones or LOTR writing on them. 6y

abookishbutterfly @miralunasbooknook It is hard to fit all of the necessary information onto those cards. I ended up getting cute paper from Staples and I included a note with additional information on that. It sounds like your wedding and reception are going to be a lot of fun! 6y

I know this is WAY early so I will post it again as the date gets closer. But if any Littens are like me & your 2017 reading plate is full so you're already pushing things out to 2018, I'll be hosting an #AnnaKareninaReadAlong in January 2018. We're hoping to start the year off on a high note by getting this chunker off our TBRs! Please pencil us in if you're interested!! (P.S. Any tips on hosting a read along are welcome!!😆)

rachelm Add me! I have the audiobook and need to do it! 7y
Theresa @rachelm Consider yourself added. Welcome! 7y
Nat_Reads I would love to! Haven't read this in a long while!!! 7y

Theresa @Nat_Reads Yay!! 👏👏👏 7y
DrexEdit I would love to join! Big books is going to be one of my 2018 challenges! 7y
Theresa @DrexEdit what a great challenge! Glad we can help you with it! 😄 7y
JenP I wish! I read it earlier this year so I‘m not quite ready for a reread but will follow along. Great book! 7y
Theresa @JenP Great! This will be my 1st time leading a read along. If you have any tips you're willing to share I'm all ears! 7y
JenP @Theresa you‘ll be great leading this! I‘ll go back and look at my IJ buddy read and see which type of discussions/prompts got the most discussion. 7y
Erin7 I know a few ladies that we're interested in reading this in the earlier part of 2018. @norsulaulu @jb72 #atb. @Jess_Read_This Did I forget anyone? 7y
jb72 Sounds great! Thanks for the tag @Erin7 #atb 7y
Dragon My mom gave me a copy so if I can find it I just might join. I guess January isn't that far away now. 7y
PurpleyPumpkin January sounds like a good time to read this one. I've been meaning to reread for some time, but haven't yet gotten around to it! 😳 7y
erzascarletbookgasm Fingers crossed, I hope I‘ll be able to join, @Theresa. I really want to tackle the chunkster, but I‘m not good in buddy reading. One important question, though, for anyone who knows - which translation is good? As in easy to read and reads nicely/smoothly? I think the translation matters.. 7y
Theresa @erzascarletbookgasm That's an excellent question. I meant to ask it so I'll post it soon, unless you have suggestions. I did a bit of Googling about it a while back, but if I recall correctly, the translations that I read were the best weren't readily available. I'd also like to know what edition Maggie Gyllenhaal read for her version of the audiobook as I may read & listen & I think I would help to used the same edition for both. (edited) 7y
Theresa @Erin7 Thanks for sharing!! @Dragon That's what I thought too. January will be here before we know it. Yikes!! @PurpleyPumpkin Ooh, I hope you do join us! 7y
Graciouswarriorprincess One of my favorites. I read it with Oprah. 7y
Kristy_K I'm excited for this! Thanks for putting it together. :) (edited) 7y
Theresa @Graciouswarriorprincess So many people I know love it so I've wanted to read it for a long time. But it's so long. And so Russian. I used to think I needed an advanced degree to handle those things. 😝 Hopefully breaking it down into manageable parts will make it less daunting for me. 7y
Theresa @Kristy_K You're welcome! Thanks for nudging me to do it...I think. 😂😂😂 7y
Graciouswarriorprincess @Theresa, when I read it with Oprah, she had a great bookmark. I will see if I can find it. 7y
quietlycuriouskate I look forward to it. 😃 7y
Jess_Read_This @Erin7 @jb72 Sounds perfect! 7y
AceOnRoam I've put this on my reading list for Jan. It will be my third reading. 7y
Theresa @AceOnRoam Yay!! I'm in awe of the third read. This will be my first. 7y
AceOnRoam Well I make all of these exciting plans, but the reality is, I will just read whatever I feel like in January, so fingers crossed @theresa 7y

Probably my favorite MKA book. And the cover is just beautiful! And the book has a dog plot, which I love!
