Aside from a couple of insensitive wording choices...

The “Honest Indian“ I posted about.

A comment about a babysitter, “...malign a girl whose only fault was being overweight.“ It would have seemed better if the word “overweight“ had been replaced with “awkward“ or “quiet.“

And a description about the sister of the ghost being unattractive might have been fine as a personal opinion of the MC, yet repeated as it was seemed uncalled for.

👇

AnnCrystal Aside from these, the story was rather good...the movie still has my ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ vote. While this will not go onto any of my favorite lists, I will give this a 3&1/2 to 4⭐s.

The scenes that were good, were creepy good and that was what saved my opinion about this book.

Hi @BookwormAHN 🐈‍⬛😊💝.

This book gave me two search words: ghost (page 26) & Comfort (page 88) = 30 points.

Plus 25 extra points because this was on my original, TBR start points post.

Together with my previous 365 points this all totals to 420 pts.

🐈‍⬛😉👍.

Thank You.

Trying to not be annoyed by what is written on page twelve.

This is one of my favorite movies, and either I have always missed this in the movie or it was wisely left out of the dialogue.

I can understand if such talk is used in alinement with the contents of the storyline or characters...this just seemed unnecessary.

Honestly...🤨.

Luke-XVX One of those rare occasions where I preferred the film to the book. Sacrilege ! 1mo

My third book by the author. His books are creepy, around 200 pgs usually, and easy to read. I also watched the movie with Kevin Bacon. 4⭐

LeahBergen That movie freaked me out! 😆 8mo
AnnCrystal 👏This movie was incredibly creepy and absolutely good, still one of our all time favorites 🤩👍.

Actually, I have this book but was afraid it might mess with my opinion about the movie...I should give it a try (maybe for Halloween).

Nice and spooky, quick listen, but a little dated. Reading it makes me want to watch the movie again.

This was really good. A man at a neighborhood dinner gets put under hypnosis only to find out later his mind has been opened to telepathy, psychometry, and a couple of other things. There was such suspense and thrill in here. Ashley, this will be going back to you either tomorrow or Monday. And thanks @MaleficentBookDragon @BookwormAHN @JackOBotts for a great round of LMPBC.

LeahBergen I haven‘t read this but I remember I found the movie quite scary! 3y
Reggie @Leahbergen I think you‘d like it. I haven‘t seen the movie but there was stuff I didn‘t see coming at all and I gasped here and there. It has no gore but it does some great stuff. 3y
BookwormAHN I'm glad you enjoyed it 👻 3y
Reggie @BookwormAHN Ashley, remember when that guy said he‘d send your book back to you because he finished early in the month and was quite in fact proud of himself. Yeah, well, he‘s trash, and barely put in the post today. Hopefully you get it Monday. Happy Halloween! 🎃 3y

Well, I couldn‘t put this one down. A great #lmpbc pick from one of my favorite authors.

And yes I have Friday the 13th 4 on in the background. 🔪

This was also my July #bookspin selection. @TheAromaofBooks

BookwormAHN Glad you enjoyed it 😸 3y
Reggie That‘s my fourth favorite after, 7, 3, and the one in space, lol. 3y
JackOBotts I so enjoyed this, too…and followed up by watching the movie adaptation! 3y

The movie adaptation of this with Kevin Bacon is really good. The book was good too. I think this is one of the rare times when I like the movie as much as the book.

I really enjoyed this book by Matheson. It was a quick book, and it kept me wanting to read more. It was interesting to read this and compare it to the movie starring Kevin Bacon. I have always liked the movie. They kept some things the same, but the two are pretty different. I think it is because the book was written in the late 50s, and the movie was made to reflect its time period.

Listened to this yesterday. A quick listen and horrible story 😫. It was the same for What Dreams May Come. It's a rarity when two of the movies dedicated to your books are better....far far better , than your books

I saw this book classified as "horror". It definitely wasn't that but still it was pretty interesting. Not what I expected at all.

Why have I never heard of Richard Matheson? Now I'll have to read all HIS books. I think at this point I'll never get through my TBR pile. So many books. SO MANY!
