I've been learning embroidery! My 1st piece is on the left & my 2nd is on the right. 🏳️‍⚧️❤️

I got these kits from a small business called Capital Stitch Co. It comes with everything you need to make it. Thread, fabric, hoop, bobbins, pattern stabilizer, & even a needle!

@Catsandbooks have you seen her on IG or tiktok? This is my crafting goal!!! Each time you read a book you embroider a symbol of it on a sleeve! my hope is to wear a fun embroidered hoodie to Apollycon in April- but i thought the crafter in you might find this interesting!

Quick and informative book on embroidery, including a wide variety of historical styles. There didn‘t seem to be any rhyme or reason as to the different styles described (one of the contributors‘ bios has a lot about her being a sashiko expert but there‘s no sashiko?) and I think many of them could have used more description, but I really liked being introduced to some styles I‘d never heard of. With modifications, I may try some of the projects.

When I read, I tend to either read fantasy or historical fiction. I noticed that in my historical reads, a lot of women were doing embrodiery, so I've decided to start learning. Over the last week I have learned embrodiery stitches and today I stitched my first design. I am proud of myself!
