A Conspiracy of Truths | 
so-soThis book took me SO LONG to get through, it being my #Bookspin finally pushed me to finish it. It took a long, slow time to get started, and I kept losing focus. Might have liked it more if I read it straight through. It had interesting things to say about stories and POV, but I felt it lacked subtlety in its execution. So-so, but I'm going to give the second book in the series a shot, as it focuses on a lovely side-character of the first book.

I just now noticed that Of Fire and Stars managed to sneak on there twice. Not sure what I'll do about that...maybe if I read it I'll check off 9 and let 15 be a second free space. We shall see!
We've got our #bookspin and #doublespin for the month! The numbers have decided I'm continuing my global reading challenge, and finally facing down the book that I've been “actively“ reading for the longest. I've been about a third of the way through with this book months now. Time to either finish it or officially DNF.
I had a really good day yesterday so I couldn't get myself to sit down and read but I will today!

Gonna think on my rating for this one. It‘s a solid 3 at least.
Snapped the pic to share the Co—Star day at a glance, which elicited smirks all around.
So this narrator also narrated my last audiobook, Cinnamon and Gunpowder, and the similarities between the two books and their narrators are quite uncanny!
Oh and here‘s my reading companion, for my mom-cation, Preston 🥰

pickWhat‘s an old traveling storyteller to do after being unjustly imprisoned just after his arrival in a new country? Why, accidentally overthrow the ruling government through the power of stories while playing Musical Chairs: Jail Cell Edition.
This is a slow story, where our narrator spends almost the entire time imprisoned. And there‘s a bit of a Thousand and One Nights going on - stories within stories. This was a really fun listen. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑
Wanted to finish off this book with a walk and my boy before it rains today!

Okay, well, #24in48 is over, and I just made my modest goal of 14 hours, which I am happy enough about. I only have 13 hours, 48 minutes “on the clock,” but then I realized that I failed to count the time I read bedtime stories to the kids, which was 30-40 minutes-ish. I FAILED to finish A Conspiracy of Truths because my reading today was slow and distracted, but I certainly made way more progress than I would have without the Readathon. So, yay!
Okay, well I only got 6 hours in yesterday for #24in48, because of my husband‘s big work party, but I‘m up with my tea ready to go for day 2! I should be kid-free most of the day, so I‘m aiming for at least eight more hours. We‘ll see!
Have you ever liked an author so much that you were nervous to read their book? A friend commissioned me to make a pair of earrings to match this book cover to give the author as a gift. As a result, I ended up following Rowland on twitter and her podcast. I have a massive girl crush now, but the book isn‘t my normal pick, and what if I don‘t like it? Reassure me, please!
