Missing Season | 
panThere was very little suspense buildup throughout the book. I never felt super-compelled to keep reading in order to find out the answer to the mystery, and reading of the synopsis of this book, that's what I had expected. I also disliked that the whole book mentioned the Mumbler, but when the reader finally finds out who the Mumbler is, there are maybe 10 pages left in the book. There were also some writing quirks that were awkward.

I had some issues with the rushed ending and Clara's need to know everything about Kincaid but overall I really liked it.

so-soThis book had a cool eerie feeling to it. It was very atmospheric. But I didn‘t care much about the characters or the mystery.

Beach Sand: pick a books that was grainy, and the plot barely developed.
I had highs hopes for The Missing Season, but so far it‘s my least favorite of the year. The focus was so much on the love interest that the mystery and evil character was barely discussed.

panToo much love triangle, not enough monster. The main character was undeveloped and showed very little character growth. Her inside dialogue was focused almost solely on the love interest leaving very little room for a complex plot. The ending seemed extremely rushed and contrived. ⭐️⭐️
bailedI have read this author before and I really enjoyed the book that I read. This book sounded really book but unfortunately I just couldn't get into it. I really tired. I read over 200 pages and I didn't really get what was going on or see where the book was leading me too. I had less than 100 pages to find out who the taking the kids of the town but I didn't really care to find out who was doing it. #24b4monday

As Halloween gets closer, tensions build in town, it‘s hard to shake the feeling that there really is something dangerous lurking in the shadows.
