The Tyrants Tomb (The Trials of Apollo Book 4)
The Tyrants Tomb (The Trials of Apollo Book 4) | Rick Riordan
46 posts | 63 read | 26 to read
You will get to the Tiber alive. You will start to Jive. I am Apollo I will remember The former God Apollo, cast out by his father, Zeus, is having a pretty rough time of it. Well, for one thing, he's called Lester. But being an awkward mortal teenager is the least of his worries. Though he and his friends (some of them) have emerged from the Burning Maze, rescued the Oracle and lived to fight another day, they can't escape the tragedy that has befallen them, or the terrible trials still to face. So, with heavy heart, Apollo (OK, Lester) and Meg have a triumvirate still to defeat, oracles to rescue, and prophecies to decipher, so that the world may be saved, and Lester may ascend into the heavens to become Apollo once again. But, right now, Caligula is sailing to San Francisco to deal with Camp Jupiter personally, and they have to get their first. Or risk its destruction . . .

We‘re charging full speed toward the climax of this series, and nobody is safe. Apollo‘s redemption is also progressing, and I just hope he can retain the humanity he‘s built. There were some genuine moments of peace and laughter, too, which was a nice respite. #SeriesRead2022 @TheSpineView

I quite enjoyed this book. It was a lot more emotional than the last ones and I like the build-up to the last book in the series. I (once again) really enjoyed the cameos of other characters and am excited to read the next book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thanks so much for the tag @Ast_Arslan !

1. Hestia, goddess of the hearth, home, and families. Let me tel you, my devastation at her not appearing in the game Hades was unparalleled.
2. Tagged one... I think?! 😆

I loved this quote. It seems to give me some hope about death.

Reggie In Joe Hill‘s NOS4A2, a kidnapper kid‘s starts to get his bearings remembering the voices of his family and realizes they‘re never really far away cause they‘re always inside him, in his heart. It‘s a touching moment. This reminds me of that. 4y
Nute This is a lesson that I am struggling with right now. I know that I should see death this way, but this loss is so painful. 4y

This book is in demand on my Libby app, so took time to get.
Thoroughly enjoyable though, the stakes definitely heat up in this book, 'Trials' is a pretty good word to use in this book.
,'Torment' would be another good one.
Apollo's past is a big factor in this book, even more so than the last 3.

As always, I love Rick Riordan use of mythology in his books, especially bringing to light more obscure stories and myths most people don't know about.

The wonderful @wanderinglynn and @TheSpineView tagged me for this #wondrouswednesday!

1. Tagged!
2. I‘ll confess a secret. When I was young, 9 or 10, I think, my dad read to me and my sisters the Chronicles of Narnia, followed by the Lord of the Rings. For months after, I made up stories of the grown up Pevensie children being dropped into Middle Earth. 😆
3. Yes! I love both, it honestly just depends on the author.

Apollo and Meg travel to Camp Jupiter to try and unravel the next part of the prophecy. We meet up with old friends and new, as Camp Jupiter must prepare for a final stand against the Roman Emperors.

This one felt more like a filler book than the first three. Apollo gets a little bit of growth, but it feels like not much advances, there‘s only battles. Although I would give my nonexistent first born for a novel just about Reyna. 🌕🌕🌕🌑🌑

This book was as fun as the others in The Trials of Apollo. I still like other series in this world a bit better, but it's still an enjoyable read. #fantasy #mythology #greekmythology #romanmythology #lgbtcharacter

Thanks @bcncookbookclub for the tag!
The villains in this book were recently enjoying cocktails, but I don't remember what they were. So, I'll go with ambrosia, since the book is based on Greek/Roman mythology.
I don't have any active food bloggers I follow, but I enjoyed the Wordpress blogger Cartoon Cravings while they were active! #literaryflavour

Oli.reads I heard someone say that this is the final book of the CHB universe. Do u know if this is true? Bc they said the same about BoO and it was just the end of the series 5y

Once again, stakes are raised in this book. After the previous book set the stage that anything could happen and no one was safe, this became a nail-biter. There were some pretty predictable parts in the story, but Riordan also pulled out some surprises.

'Life is only precious because it ends'
It's a good story. Really gripping from the start. Humorous at some points, gloomy at others. Eagerly waiting for the next one.
Reading was due from so many days, it feels good to have finished something. Hope the form continues.

Bookish_Gal I loved this book. Thought it was gonna end up being the final one, but I guess there‘s one more for Nero 5y
ishan0986 At first I thought that too and in the end it was kinda pleasant surprise. I liked this series and the way things are presented. 5y

This is the best of the series so far! Fall 2020 is a long way away..

Sargar114 Oh no...is this another of Riordan‘s series I‘ll be addicted to??? Lol (edited) 5y
Purplerosiepage @Sargar114 Probably! It‘s not as good as the Heroes of Olympus series, but better than the Egyptian gods series. 5y
Bookish_Gal Finished this one last week. Agree that it was amazing!! Apollo has grown so much! Can‘t wait for the next one 5y

I‘m gonna kill him. I‘m gonna go crazy just like Hazel. FRANK!!! Oh My Gosh this book was amazing!! It had everything! Apollo has grown so much in understanding the “simple mortals” and the gods own demigod children. You see this? Growth. #RiordanPresents

Oli.reads Bro the ENDING!! Have u finished it all? I need to talk about it with someone 5y
Bookish_Gal @Oli.reads I loved this book!! I‘m always looking to talk about a book 5y
Oli.reads Omg. How do you feel that hazel is now preator? I kind of like it but it‘s scary bc she‘s like 15? But then again they‘re all kids. Also Apollo is growing on me and I‘m really glad Reyna is now a huntress. Also Thalia 🥺 5y
Bookish_Gal That surprised me, and I can see her growing into the part. I like to think that it‘s taken up to this second to last book for Apollo to really grow on me. 5y

Book 4. Yes. Yes he is. The god Apollo is still cast down as a mortal. Meg is still bugging him. Everyone from past books are here. Finally they got to Camp Jupiter! Now, let‘s see how they protect the prophecies before the old risen Roman rulers, Commodus and Ceaser, and sometimes Nero, come to fight to take over the world. #RiordanPresents
