I got a lovely surprise this rainy Halloween evening. My #LMPBC #GroupV 📦 arrived from @Avanders and is awesome!!! This is my new favorite book sleeve. ♥♥♥♥♥ The books are all from my wish list and the coffee smells divine. Thank you for everything!
@TK421 @Bklover @BethM
We need to think about our books for the next round.
Yay!!! Rec‘d this Halloween-filled pkg of awesomeness for #LMPBC ! 💀🖤🎃
Thank you so much @BethM ! I‘m so excited to see coffee from my hometown! 💚🏈💛 & buffalo popcorn sounds sooo yum. The little genius NB is so cute 🤓 & I 💗 the flags! Of course the hollow Magic book is amazing, & the candies inside smell so good (plastic baggie broke, so moved in there). & excited for cider, KitKats, hoot antibac & facemask! So much!! Thank you!! 🥰♥️😘
Holy wow, what an intense read. Great #lmpbc pick! Almost horror it was so creepy and scary AF. But then I don‘t read horror so who knows 🤷♀️😂 Being in criminal justice and a hunter gives me a unique perspective on several parts of this story. I‘ll leave the rest of my thoughts in the journal so I don‘t spoil it!
No details so the rest of my group can enjoy this, but I loved it! Soooo much better than the movie, but I did picture Huw as Stanley Tucci! (And I liked the movie!)
#LMPBC Group V Round 6
Omg I LOVE Jelly Bellies!!! Thanks so much Nathan! Getting ready to start reading and eating right away. @BethM Beth I mailed you your package today. I am scum. I WILL do better next month. (Plus I forgot to insert your note!). Nathan- thanks again for the treats and the bookmark and book markers! Was fun opening it!

I finally finished my #LMPBC selection the other day. I loved this book. It was written in a way that made they story very believable. I don't want to spoil any plot points for my group, so that's it. Read it, enjoy it, get anxiety from it.

In The Silence, a family navigates a newly post-apocalyptic landscape, overrun by nightmarish winged creatures who hunt by sound; and terrified and terrifying people. Excellently paced, it takes you from the inciting event to the development of the crisis & societal devolution, in a way that‘s real-timey. What makes it pop from the dreck of disaster stories are the characters. The bond between Ally, a deaf teen, & her dad was the highlight for me.
Really enjoyed this book. There was a lot of suspense as the family try to escape the monsters Lebbon had kept it realistic with no heroics. I was constantly thinking what would I do? I felt the panic & fear as I was reading, it kept me glued to the story. Now to watch the Netflix film to see the adaptation of a British story

This book made me ugly cry on the train home, thank goodness for sunglasses. Spoiler comment added in case you need to check what you might face when reading this; it won't spoil the book.
This is a heart racing apocalyptic horror, it's sooo good.

4/5 I picked this up after seeing it's movie be called a knock off of a quiet place, even though the book came out first. It's almost like everythibg the Quiet Place was missing, complete build up to an apocalyptic situation, told through the eyes of a family with a deaf child. The authors use of social media was well done, and it made for an incredibly visceral and interesting story of the fall of society. #scifi #horror
Started with this earlier today on Kindle!
Book 2: I loved this one. I‘m a “plague ushers in the apocalypse” kind of gal but really enjoyed this one where predators decide to eat us. Fair warning that there are two dog deaths that really messed me up 😭 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Starting this one!
I‘m not sure I would have finished this if it weren‘t for book club #TeamHellboundHeart even though I‘d been curious about it for years. I liked the real-time unfolding of the apocalypse and picturing what a vesp might look like. I wasn‘t keen on the lack of character development and the formulaic plot.
@CouronneDhiver Thank you for the chocolate-y treat that came with the #GroupU #LMPBC parcel! It‘s supposed to *shudder* snow this weekend so I‘ll make light work of it! @Lindy @Jazzper2 ❤️❤️ @LiterRohde @thereadingowlvina @kaysworld1 the notebook arrived! I‘m going to try and finish up the book this week so it can make its way to Kay. #TeamHellboundheart
This was kind of an impulse buy but it went directly to the top of my TBR. Loving it so far!!
A different take on the dystopia trope. Actually takes place during, not after, some cataclysmic event. A nice change. And terrifying too. Great read, highly recommend
Concentrating on this one for the night (since it's the loan due back in a couple days 😬). I mentioned the basic premise of creatures that hunt by sound -- a cave system that's been cut off for millions of years was breached and these creatures emerged and began multiplying like crazy and spreading. Here we follow a family trying to outrun the spread before it reaches the UK. I have toddlers, the thought of safety in silence is terrifying.
In the mood for a horror thriller type of thing. I haven't seen A Quiet Place but it appears that it's a remarkably similar premise to this 2015 novel -- creatures that hunt by sound. I loved Bird Box so I was definitely interested in another sensory themed horror.
Not my neighborhood ☝🏻😆. Sorry for the radio silence after my last post. Reception went out almost right after, and #MiddleEarth is still without power. So what did we do while cut off from the world? Read in whatever daylight we had left. Then @BookBabe got on her Kindle and I turned on my booklight. Now for tomorrow, I'll be shoveling out snow almost up to my waist 😆.
3🌟🌟🌟🤔I liked it, but there was so much more the author could‘ve done with it. The writing was good... absolutely nothing wrong w/the writing. My issue was that it was lacking in explanations, and then the cliff hangers felt kind of lack luster and lazy. The whole thing felt like meeting someone with incredible talent and knowing they weren‘t living up to their potential *smh*-A decent read to pass the time basically but that‘s it😕
Getting some reading while my husband watches football. This book has been hard to put down! It‘s really good! 🤓
Since it‘s so close to Halloween, I decided to read something kind of scary! Reviews said it was close to Bird Box and that book gripped me from the start so I‘m looking forward to this! 👍
Chris Golden said I absolutely must read this book, so here I am, going to read it. 😊📚🖤
