So I went back and saw that I wrote about how I enjoyed the first book in this series (Death Overdue) but this one…. Eh… I was not a fan of. The mystery felt lack luster, the way they discussed the unhoused people ranged from sympathetic to judgmental. All in all I would say “so-so” because I feel generous. #SeasonalCozies

I started this as my Audio Backlog book and incorporate the #SeasonalCozies @JulieClair group. The blurb says that the setting is winter. So far they have used “winter“ as a way to explain transient individuals camping out in the library. (Not really enjoying all the judgmental talk on the homeless population).

But just got to the murder, will work not this one a little bit longer to see if it gets better.

Peppered with big, such as homelessness,& small issues that libraries may face adds to the reality that libraries strive to be safe places for humanity.

I was disappointed. I enjoyed the first two, but there were no complications in her relationship with Dylan. Not even when she confessed about her ability to communicate with ghosts. Nothing. I want the gothic smartaleck librarian back. If you only read for the murder mystery, that was a letdown too.

Love a good cozy!

This was an entertaining enough cozy mystery with characters I liked. I don‘t think I realized exactly how many mystery series there are with a librarian and a cat as the main characters! Then Brook adds a 3rd mystery trope that I really had no idea was so prevalent until recently— the mc is assisted, or at least pested, by a ghost. I‘m also reading Dreamland, which is excellent, because we‘re considering it for our Common Read program.

Really tired from my long trip, so I‘m sitting in bed in my pjs reading this.

The first read of the year. Love me some cozy mysteries! This one is as cheesy as they come, but I love cheese.🧀🧀🧀

Carrie is a librarian with something different. She has a ghost librarian, Evelyn, that talks to her in the library. When Dorothy, Evelyn's niece, is murdered Carrie feels obligated to help find the murderer. There are several people in the community that aren't model citizens and may have had something against Dorothy since she was not liked.
This was a good cozy read.

A well-written story full of twists that was a lot of fun to read. The characters are believable and leaped off the page.

Be aware when you start reading the books in this series they are hard to put down.

Finished this a couple days ago and really enjoyed it! It is the 3rd in the series, but I have not read the others and still really liked it. Usually I don't do that, but it was on #netgalley and sounded really good! Lol! #cozymystery
