This had peaks and valleys, one chapter I would love, the next I was forcing myself through. Yet, I am glad I trudged through the valleys, because as I am typing this, I still cannot wrap my mind around all that happened.
I'm sorry @DarcysMom , I tried but I got half way through the book and it was going to take me way too long to finish. There were some parts I found interesting but the parts with the author were hard for me to get through. It should be back to you by Christmas. @leslieseidel @arubabookwoman #lmpbc
The beginning about the famous but past his prime writer and his young wife being stalked obsessively by their creepy neighbor intrigued me. But the long interlude of teenage angst mostly bored me, and the promised “twist” was on the yawn-worthy side. But even though the book didn‘t live up to its promise, I‘m not sorry I read it.
This arrived! (a few days ago) Thanks @DarcysMom I just started it this morning and am already intrigued and disgusted by the narrator! Ha Ha. Should be an interesting read. @Shadowfat @arubabookwoman #lmpbc #groupT
@leslieseidel The book should arrive on Monday. Let me know if it doesn't.

I am behind in finishing, but I promise it will be mailed out this weekend!

I finished this book while on vacation as well, and it was very hard to put down. I spent most of the book not knowing what was going on, but the ending was fantastic! I love a mystery book that keeps you guessing and doesn't reveal too much before it's over. Definitely a book you have to keep up with because you can lost in it. Highly recommend!
Decided to start a different book that has been calling my name!
I didn't see the ending at all and I had a lot of strange ideas! However, it took FOREVER to get to the end!
40 years ago, 2 high school students are accused of foul play in the disappearance of a teacher, who was also having an affair with one of the students. A famous writer is being stalked after writing a fictional account of the event. The story rambles and needed better editing but was interesting after a bit of weeding.

25% to go, 2 days left on my loan with 1 person waiting... and this is probably one of the SLOWEST books I've ever read!!! Malerman is great at a slow burn but this... I feel like it's a sterno, like I'm not even sure if this sucker is lit after 75%... 🤔🤔🤔
Such a strange way to think about men who have children at an older age with younger spouses! Im not going to lie, I've thought it myself...
Reading this for my own book club, #bookclubschmookclub, and my mom found a copy at Dollar Tree. Lol
Finally got ahold of this book!! I‘m so excited to read it. I was on the wait list for months at the last library I went to. Now I‘ve moved to a new town, went to visit their library today, and this was the first book I checked out. 😍😍😍
I need to cleanse my mind of A Discovery of Witches! Herman Koch is always a good idea.
A perfect beach read, this book. A whodunnit mixed with the challenges of being a writer. Koch is very ironic and funny, I wanted to read on and on, but in the end I think I'll forget about Mr. M quickly. #Dutch
I was a little hesitant to read this one. I had read The Dinner, which I had loved and then couldn't wait to read Summer House with Swimming Pool. Unfortunately I was disappointed and did not like that one. Dear Mr. M ended up being a fantastic read and I was not at all disappointed! Would highly recommend this one.
Litten Alert! This is a seriously good book -about a writer- which make it even more intriguing. And intriguing it is ! Unputdownable. That is my only warning: if you like it like I did, nothing will get done until it's finished. ✅✅✅
Oh Littens , this book is excellent. I loved The Dinner , I bailed on Summer House with swimming pool ( which I will be giving a huge second chance ) but , Dear Mr M is laugh out loud brilliant , poignant, wise. I just don't want it to end. Anyone else reading this? If not , read it ! It's brilliant 👍
I am embarking on Dear Mr. M. I loved the Dinner. A little scared of this one for some reason. Anyhoots...... here it goes
🎉👏Fri-yay! Day off reading by the pool. ☀️👙📚 Starting this gem today! #DearMrM - Any litsy friends read this one yet? Thoughts? #HermanKoch #AuthorofTheDinner
Truth 😉
I could become quite a fan of Herman Koch. This is the second book of his that I've read, and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. Quite an uncomfortable read in places. He does seem to have a bit of a 'thing' for teachers, however. They all seem to be on the immoral side, and the blame seems to be laid squarely at their door due to the fact that they're teachers! Anyway, very twisty turny - I liked it a lot!
After a week of potty training my son, the library was heaven. I know I will never read them all but it's still bliss: )
I tried to like this book, but I did not. There was a lot going on and the concept of the story line was good but something didn't work for me. Maybe I should have read the book instead of listening to the audio. Should I try another book by Herman Koch?? 2 ⭐️⭐️
Listening to this one. My first book by this author, seems weird that the main characters name is M.
I will say right away that I was disappointed with this book. I enjoyed his first two, but while this one had a number of bright spots, overall it was too long and meandering. I don't regret reading it because of those bright spots, but it promised so much more! 💣💣💣 3 out of 5 ticking time bombs.
Two chapters in and I am not sure how I feel about this one! #mysteries #bloggingforbooks #whodunnit
This was the longest and most boring book I've forced myself to finish in years. What is all the hype about? If it hadn't been an Early Reviewer I would have given up about halfway through. It seemed like I read for weeks and made little progress. So much pointless navel gazing and dialogue with little action. A month of my life I will never get back.
Eh, I wanted to like this more than I did. To me it had a whole lot of filler, although it was well written.
I'm really not sure how i feel about this book right now... I love that the point of view is from the stalker so far but he goes so far out I lose focus of wtf he's even talking about. I'm going to give it a couple more chapters before I bail...
An unbelievable thriller with Koch's signature despicable characters. This book is very meta - the narrators include the narrator of Mr M's bestselling novel. This has one of the best first quarters I've ever read in a book. Dear Mr M made me shed a couple of tears, cringe, sit up in shock and basically make me feel unsettled as hell. Recommending to anyone who loves thrillers and books about writers, writing & politics of the publishing world 😊
Today's book haul!! I read The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August not too long ago cough cough #litsygoespostalOG cough and had to add it to my bookshelf. Can't wait to get started on Dear Mr. M!
"Fun reading makes me think of someone who slaps his knees in mirth as he turns the pages."
"Dear Mr. M,
I'd like to start by telling you that I'm doing better now."

Kind of slow but creepy. Good thing my dogs are on high alert to protect me.
Finally getting around to reading this arc that I was sent its creepy but interesting so far
So is this just like a European thing or...? #Ick #ThatsYourDaughterDude
Oh my this book!!! Who else has read this? Thoughts? Once I got past the uneasy feeling the one protagonist caused me with his stalker vibe, I was hooked!
Dear Comfort Zone…I‘m sorry.

I won this from Bookstr. First time I have ever gotten an actual book, usual get ebooks from another site. So excited! And I really needed cheered up today!
Interesting read. I enjoyed it, but the ending left me wanting more. Definitely a pick.
I finished my run - a beautiful 66 degrees here in Georgia. Now to finish this book!
