Better than I expected. I thought it would just be a mindless enjoyable book but it had more depth. A lot of lessons learned about following and finding your dreams

Float Plan begins the healing journey for Anna who is struggling to find closure after boyfriend Ben overdoses on medications and alcohol. Turning tragedy into adventure, Anna sets sail to Puerto Rico with only the his travel itinery. She hires Keane Sullivan in a manner which seems clandestine. Anna encounters many unexpected situations in which she learned to be open and flexible allowing her to discover her authentic self.
I had very little expectation but this was awesome. I didn't want to put it down but I didn't want it to wnd either. #22-2023
Soft pick. Anna and Ben, her fiancé, had planned a sailing trip to the Caribbean. But when he dies, Anna decides to do the trip anyway-solo!

If the best that can be said about this book is that it didn't irritate me as much as most romances do, is that a glowing endorsement? Read my full review here: https://debbybrauer.org/#float-plan
Just like the Suite Spot, this one was amazing too! It was such a quick & easy read, I really loved it. Keane is 😻
Reading them out of order didn't hurt the story in any way. I'm excited to read the next one!!
Also, I would never survive on a boat. I have a lot of envy for people who don't get sea sick from just looking at a wave.

If you're wondering, yes, Katie hates when I use her as a Kindle stand. 🤷♀️

This story was poignant and unexpected. Well written and perfectly paced, it deals with suicide, grief and loss in a measured, respectful way and still manages to be uplifting and positive. The characters are authentic and memorable, I just loved them and was rooting for them from the start. #BookspinBingo #Doublespin @TheAromaofBooks
Quick and lovely escapist romance set on a sailboat n the Caribbean. Anna is still grieving over her fiancés suicide 10 months ago when she decides to take his (their) boat on the long trip they had planned. Along the way, she hires Keane to help her navigate. He‘s dealing with his own shit but you know what happens from there. And now all I want to do is sail in the Caribbean and I don‘t even like boats.
My Libby hold on my #IRL #bookclub #everythingbutselfhelp December book came in early, so I'll be reading this one before our November pick. Super excited!
"The glue has only just dried on my broken heart and I‘m offering him a hammer. But when he kisses my skin, just there, above my heart, I feel safe."
Trish Doller, Float Plan
This was a beautiful story of a woman finding herself again after the death of her fiancé. There is a romance, but it is far more about her journey. The sailing descriptions and places she visits makes me want to travel. Trigger warning in comments. 4.5⭐️
Another square for my #bookspinbingo
This grid was a great reading experience, and I‘m giving this one to the tagged because I was surprised by how much I liked it. I thought I was simply working down my summer stack with a likely so-so read but loved it.
5* = Loved It, want non-reader IRL friends to read. I do/will own a physical copy. A+
4*= I liked it, would love to discuss. Solid B
3*=Meh, no need to discuss. Average C
2*=Nope D
1*=DNF F
This really was a beautiful book. These characters were so appealing and so complex, I was definitely rooting for them. And I so appreciated that there wasn‘t any real melodrama, which I totally expected given the plot. (Do you ever find yourself waiting for something bad to happen in a book or movie?)
This book was just so good!

You're doing great.
I found this out thrifting books and wasn‘t expecting to like it this much. The main characters are adorable and even the test to the budding relationship is not your typical miscommunication trope. The setting is the Caribbean in November through December so if this was on your TBR for a summer read, it‘s not too late to pull it for 2021. I noticed on GR this will be a series.
TW - MC‘s fiancé died by suicide 10 months prior to setting.
Super quick read. The book deals with grief after Anna loses her fiance to suicide, as well as living her life without Ben. Loved the dynamic between her and Keane.
4.5⭐ This really touched on some heavy subject matter (although as a whole I didn't find the book itself to be heavy). At its core it's Anna's story of self discovery as she embarks on a sailing adventure, taking the trip her fiance had planned for them prior to his suicide. I really loved seeing Anna come into her own, and all of the beautiful places she visited. Beautifully done.
Finished off 3 audiobooks yesterday, while working on design inventory for the Etsy shop and snuggling with the kitties.
Float Plan was my favourite of the 3, surprisingly. I‘ve been in such a suspense/thriller kick lately, that I was surprised I got pulled into it so easily. 5🌟
This was a perfect summer read. I loved all the descriptions of the different islands and of course the food. It was a cute story, with a bit of heavy subject matter, but I loved seeing Anna come into her own.
Perfect if you enjoy books with travel or are looking for a summer type read.
For my first #bookspinbingo this month! Up next on audio...🎧
Don‘t let the illustrated cover fool ya. This was much more than a cheesy romance. A grieving Anna sets off on a voyage to honor a lost love, her journey takes her to the most unexpected places. @Eggs
I got a replacement set of earbuds, so I was able to continue this one this morning, and it was really good. The cover looks like a lighthearted rom-com, but it's much deeper than that. The story made me want to hop in a boat and sail around the world.

Well...this is how far I got this morning when my backup earbuds (lost my good ones yesterday) crapped out on me. So, it looks like I'll be doing kindle and paper books til I can push myself to go out (ugh, there are people out there) and get new ones. The book was pretty good so far. More somber than it's bright and cheery cover had me expecting.
A very quick and cute read. It didn‘t grab me as other romcom books have and maybe it was because it started with a suicide or had a lot of sailing lingo that I didn‘t care about. I also didn‘t feel any chemistry between the main couple. Overall, it was cute, but nothing great.
This was a wonderful book. Anna lost her fiancé to suicide about 10 months ago and is deeply grieving. She decides to just up and leave on the sailboat he left her and take the trip they had planned to take together. But she quickly realizes she can't do it alone and hires Keane. He has his own demons he's trying to push through. 👇
This was a really cute story, and maybe I‘m reading too much into it, but I felt like there were some odd racial/colonial undertones..
Trish Doller does a beautiful job writing realistic characters that grow & develop with each chapter. This wasn't an insta-love story, & I appreciated how Doller realistically has Anna struggling with her emotions & grief throughout most of the book after losing her fiancé. The story was sweet & funny, & I loved that the boat trip was just as much about finding herself as it was about a potential romance. An easy, entertaining, & meaningful read.
Very pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. A contemporary romance/chick lit that is much better than average. Would recommend to fans of Me Before You and How to Walk Away. Anna‘s journey towards overcoming grief is contrasted by beautiful, happy moments. I haven‘t heard much about this book at all on social media, so I am happy to give it some props.
This is my Cangrejeros de Santurce shirt.
When you read Float Plan and get to the part where they go to the baseball game in Puerto Rico, they are watching my team play. The main character loves the crab logo and buys a souvenir.
While there is a little bit of romance most of Float Plan is Anna dealing with her grief. I loved the sailing bits and if I wasn‘t so pale and knew how to sail I‘d take the trip myself.
4/5
I wasn't sure how a romance novel that dealt heavily with grief would work, but I think Trish Doller did a wonderful job of portraying someone working their way through their grief and finding love through the process. I felt that Anna's grief felt incredibly real and understandable and I was really invested in her journey through the Caribbean.
Serious trigger warning for suicide!
#netgalley
Anna is floundering in her grief after the suicide of her fiancé when she impulsively sets off on the sailing trip they had planned. She is not a strong sailor and quickly realizes she needs help. She hires Keane who is kind and thoughtful. They grow close as they share experiences and heal in their own ways.Well written and emotional, I could taste the sea salt on my lips as I was reading and was ready to pack my bags for my own adventure.
