I think of my appreciation for #memoir as focused on non-celebrities, but apparently I do enjoy a musician's story. Lol signed my book; we have a relationship like that. Of course, what I mean is that I bought it that way.

I‘m not much of a one for books by musicians, as most of them aren‘t that well written, but this is definitely an exception. A great tale about The Cure and Lol‘s own battles with his demons. Well worth a read.

bookishbitch When I was stationed in London I passed him a few times near the Embassy. One day I mentioned to one of the local guards about the Cure "superfan" I kept seeing in full make up. He laughed so hard and then informed me that was the real Michael Smith and lived in the neighborhood. I was so embarrassed! He was always super polite and said hello back when I had greeted him. 5y

The Cure are very #closetome I walked down the aisle to one of their songs and my daughter is named after another. The album this one is off is still my favourite, so many angst teenage hours spent listening.

*muppet arm flails* I went to B&N to get Mom (ok, and me) books to open on Christmas Eve and found this beauty! I almost made a scene in the store (nothing to see here people, just a 41 year old woman hardcore fangirling over her FAVORITE band-move along). I was SO good and wrapped it and put it under the tree. I even used glitter wrapping paper so I don't carry it around whispering "my precious" for the next 2 days. ?

We got to meet Lol Tolhurst at his book signing tonight in Indianapolis and hear him speak about his time in the Cure. Here is our awkward photo together. I have read the first chapter and it is well written. I'm sure my husband and I will be fighting to see who will read it first!
