My first time with the Percy Jackson series. I always thought it sounded interesting and it definitely kept my attention. The characters were pretty great and fun. I‘ll probably continue with the series and see how the rest of the prophecy turns out

Reading this as an adult. Not bad at all! My favorite is the world building and on how the gods act in the modern world
revisiting a series i missed out on finish as a youth really was wonderful, very excited for the series (tv) and the rest of the series (book). i still have two more books to go until i hit my divergence point so it feels similar to meeting an old friend. very nice
A major theme in this book is loyalty. The book talks about gaining loyalty from others and losing loyalty. It has betrayal and sacrifice from enemies and friends alike.
The book follows Percy Jackson. He has ADHD, dyslexia, and is a notorious troublemaker. Weird things have been happening and he discovers he is part of a magical world. The Greek gods are real and he is a demigod. He is put on a quest after finding out his father is Poseidon. He meets friends, enemies, and discovers a terrible truth. If you like fantasy, adventure, plot twists, memorable characters, and a great story then this is the book for you.
This was such a great book! Everyone at work couldn't believe that I hadn't read anything by Rick Riordan before.
This book felt like magic. I loved it!!!

Finished this last night. It was a bit of a miracle. I was reading it to my son. Downloaded from the library on 9/22 to my Kindle. He fell 😴 every night before 2 pp. It should have vanished by 10/12. I checked out a paperback copy from my library as it was no longer available through the public library. 🙃 I don't know why it's still in my Kindle. Even though he kept falling asleep, he was determined.
Listening to the audiobook through Libby. The narrator seems to be modulating his voice for a much younger audience (which absolutely makes sense) but it's taking me out of the story a little - all the dialogue is spoken in b the same cheerful tone, even when the author describes it as pensive or sad or angry.
I'm enjoying it though! I think Riordan has done a great job of making you empathize with the characters.
Super excited to see this announcement on Rick Riordan‘s Instagram. Love these books and the movies were so disappointing—I was thrilled when Riordan announced he was doing a series for Disney+ and love that we are starting to get casting announcements. Loved Walker Scobell in The Adam Project and I think he‘ll be great as Percy Jackson. Filming starts this summer! Can. Not. Wait.
Just finished rereading the first Percy Jackson book! I first read this when I was in 6th or 7th grade, and now I‘m going to read it with my 6th graders for our Ancient Greece unit! It was pretty good and there were a lot of cheesy jokes for the adults that went over my head when I was a kid, lol. The obsession with Western civilization was a little sus though 🥴
The tart smell of those pomegranates was almost overwelming. I had a sudden desire to eat them, but then I remembered the story of Persephone.
I finally started reading Percy Jackson! I really enjoyed this book and it‘s many adventures. I really like the characters and cannot wait to start reading the second part of the series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Re-reading one of my favorite books! Just as amazing as I remember it 😊

Reading and walking again at the park! Happy Friday! 🌿📚💕
Covid cases in Michigan are crazy high again and still rising. I thought once I got my vaccine that I would feel less scared, but I'm just as anxious as ever. Luckily the weather has been beautiful lately, so I've been walking and reading a lot at the park! 🌿💕📚

My final read of the month concludes with this fun fantasy adventure book. I thought it was a well done spin on the Greek gods and mythological creatures. I‘d definitely continue on with the series.
Rereading this wonderful series, it's been a long time.. No grandkids yet but I stumbled upon the complete series for a great price and bought it thinking what a great collection to my library and hopefully one day be a great read for my grandkids
This book is about the demigod (half human half god) Percy Jackson and his adventure to retrieve the stolen lighting bolt. The story begins with an introduction of Percy Jackson and his life at his home in New York City. Percy is not aware of hit situation in fact his only clue to his destiny he believes is dyslexia but actually he is just able to read an Ancient Greek language.
