Mister Impossible (Dreamer Trilogy #2), Volume 2 | Maggie Stiefvater
From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Raven Boys, a mesmerizing story of dreams and desires, death and destiny. Do the dreamers need the ley lines to save the world . . . or will their actions end up dooming the world? As Ronan, Hennessy, and Bryde try to make dreamers more powerful, the Moderators are closing in, sure that this power will bring about disaster. In the remarkable second book of The Dreamer Trilogy, Maggie Stiefvater pushes her characters to their limits - and shows what happens to them and others when they start to break.

Book read during #20in4 Readathon @Andrew65
2nd book in the trilogy and I have to say that more than half the book was slow, repetitive and sometimes boring. Almost at the end, it had a couple of twists that you want to read the third one. Can‘t say much in this sequel without spoiling the story. 3.5/3.75⭐️

Andrew65 Excellent 👏👏👏 Shame the book didn‘t hold together for the first half. I often find the second book in a trilogy can be the weakest. 1y
Gissy @Andrew65 Yes, that has happened to me in various series, you are right 1y

#currentlyreading Another one I bought two years ago and am only just getting to. Also the third book, Graywarren is already out, so I won‘t have to wait for it. #winwin The plant is Ficus Elastica Burgundy commonly called a Rubber Tree (here in 🇦🇺 anyway). #dreamertrilogy #ronanlynch

Ronan and Hennessy‘s self-destructiveness goes on tour, coming to a dam near you! I really appreciate Carmen and Liliana‘s relationship growth. Jordan and Declan taught me about art and I‘m not mad at it. Matthew needs a therapist and Bryde needs to take a long drive off a short cliff. Excited and anxious about Greywaren in Oct.

MsRadioSilence I like my other cover better, but that copy is in the middle of a floating bookshelf and it‘s too much work to get it down for a picture. 3y

Ronan Lynch is one of my absolute favorite characters, so I am really enjoying this trilogy spin-off about the Dreamers. Only complaint: not enough Adam!

This was one of my most anticipated books of this year and it did not disappoint. I listen to these because I adore will patton‘s narration. The dreamer/raven books are some of my most favorite on audio. Plot wise this was unpredictable and unnerving and I‘m very invested in book 3! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

June wrap-up post at last! Favorite of the month is tagged. No bingo (despite One of Us Is Lying ending up with two spaces), but at least I read my #bookspin! For #pennyperpage, I have what I think is my highest month, $14.57. I haven‘t been tracking my purchases on Litsy, but rest assured I am staying within my budget—the #pennyperpage constraint actually helps me feel much better about budgeting and spending money on books.

YAY!! I actually cleared my #BookSpinBingo board this month!! I actually have read a lot of great books this month & am not sure I can choose a favorite, although the tagged is definitely in the running!! Definitely helped my odds this month by giving The Perfect Horse two squares & putting several middle grade books on my list. Still satisfying, though!!!

I need book 3 NOW!!! Absolutely loved the second installment of this trilogy, even when it went directions I wasn't anticipating. I will say that this book does NOT stand alone - I even went back & read the last fifty or so pages of Call Down the Hawk to give myself a refresher. Sometimes a middle book can feel like filler, but there is a lot of forward action here & I loved it.

Pictured is the OwlCrate edition's reversible cover!!

MidnightBookGirl Yeah, I wish I had done a quick skim of Call Down the Hawk, but I did really enjoy this book, and the audio is narrated by Will Patton whom I really like. That ending though! Book 3 is so far away!! 3y
Eggbeater I just finished this yesterday. I thought it was great. That ending really surprised me. 3y

Soubhiville What a cool cover! 3y
Andrew65 Well done 👏👏👏 3y
TheAromaofBooks @MidnightBookGirl - I read maybe the first chapter of Mister Impossible & then realized that despite just reading CDtH last month I genuinely couldn't remember how it ended. The recap definitely helped haha Sometimes I feel like books need a little “In our last episode...“ intro like they do on TV shows 😂 (edited) 3y
TheAromaofBooks @Eggbeater - Right?? I love it when an author does a twist like that in a way that makes the pieces fit instead of just doing it to jumble everything back up again. I can't wait until the final book!!! 3y
TheAromaofBooks @Soubhiville - It goes with their reversible cover for the first book & I just love it!!! 3y

This book has amazing artistic imagery and is beautifully surreal. It is billed as YA, but I think adult fantasy fans would like it, too. I am enjoying getting to know Declan's character better and loved that the ending took such an interesting turn.

Yay!! I love these mid-month readathons hosted by @Andrew65 !! Today kicks off #JoysofJune & I'm hoping to hit 3200 pages by the end of the week.

Started the tagged book last night (I did have to reread the last few chapters of Call Down the Hawk to get my head in the game haha) & I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Stiefvater writes stories that it doesn't sound like I should like, but I always do.

Andrew65 Good luck 😊👍 3y

So it took me nearly two weeks to pick up this book after it arrived; in my defense, we moved into our new house around the same time. In this sequel to Call Down the Hawk, Ronan & Hennessy continue to manifest their issues under the tutelage of the enigmatic Bryde. I can't express how much I love these characters, the interweaving of art and nature into the narrative, the expression of alienation and the yearning for belonging. Book 3 please!

Not as good as the Call Down the Hawk, but I enjoyed the humor as you can see my cat is a "Hand Cat" ???? so she stole my book for a whole day. Those pesky Hand Cats. This was an ideal second novel in the trilogy. I'm nervous about novel number 3, that's all I'm going to say, but I definitely recommend as a read. 5 ????? #BookSpinBingo @TheAromaofBooks #fantasy

I finished Mister Impossible last night. Well. Maggie Stiefvater certainly can tell a story. She's particularly strong in the way she constructs her characters. They are always complex, always feel so real. This book engulfed me. A little less action than the first book, but not weaker. The twists blew my mind. Can't wait to read the final book but at the same time I don't want it to end.

Fantastic book mail today! 💕📚 The Broken God is the third in a great fantasy series, and The Betrayals is a new stand alone by the same author who wrote The Binding, which I absolutely love! 😍 And Maggie Stiefvater is an auto buy author for me, her writing is such a delight! This is the second book in The Dreamer trilogy! #bookmail

Clare-Dragonfly I haven‘t bought or borrowed this yet because I can‘t decide which 😅 I borrowed Call Down the Hawk but it was so good I know I‘ll love this… 4y
