Being reunited with the four loveable characters felt cosy and familiar, like slipping on a favourite item of clothing. Just as in the first book, this was full of dry humour, with sharp and witty insights. Funny without ever being βtry hard‘.
This was a lot more action packed than the first, and quite busy at times. Still hugely enjoyable and looking forward to reading the third.
I read this with my book club, I loved the first book and this second one didn‘t disappoint. It‘s a fun and entertaining mystery written with a sense of humour. The characters are great, Joyce being my favourite. Looking forward the third instalment in due course.
I really loved this book. It was better than the first one as I knew the characters. Now onto to the third book
A physical book for a change. It was a Christmas present in 2021.
My local reading group have decided to read it. We decided to read something a little more light hearted after reading Wilding by Isabella Tree. We‘d already read the first book which we all enjoyed so hopefully this one will be just as fun!
Every bit as entertaining and charming as the first book, and it was so nice to spend time with Elizabeth, Joyce, Ron and Ibrahim again (not to mention the great cast of supporting characters) Elizabeth‘s ex-husband, and fellow MI5 spy has stolen diamonds worth millions from an international arms dealer, and he wants her help. Distracted by her current husband‘s increasing dementia, Elizabeth is not at the top of her game; her friends step up.
βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ I love these books.
Another re-read because why not? The first time I reviewed this I said I loved it even more than the first one. I stand by that the 2nd time around too. β€οΈ
So good! It‘s even better than the first one and I didn‘t think that would be possible.
Cozy night with my pup and a fun book!
What a great sequel! I am almost tempted to say that I liked this one even better than the first one; which is saying a lot since I loved that one! It was fun to continue to see the characters grow and uncover another mystery.
This was such a fun installment of the Thursday Murder Club series which I enjoyed even more than the first book. I loved catching up with the members of the club and other returning characters and look forward to reading the next book in the series.
Super light comedy and a nice easy read, I got through this book on a long haul flight which was made much more pleasant by the investigating octogenarians! I enjoyed this even more than the first in the series and am looking forward to reading the third.
#12BooksOf2022 Day 4- April
The second book in the Thursday Murder Club series was even better than the first! Elizabeth, Joyce, Ron, and Ibrahim are at it again, this time trying to solve the mystery of missing diamonds.
@Andrew65
I absolutely love this series and Osman has become an auto buy author for me #12BooksOf2022 #March @Andrew65
Hockey season is in full swing for my son, so I feel like there's never enough time in the week. I did manage to finish this over the weekend though and thoroughly enjoyed it.
This second book in the Thursday Murder Club series is even funnier than the first. The book is really cleverly put together. I could not stop reading. The audio for this is great, too.
This was just as funny as the first! These characters are all delightful and I can‘t wait to read more from them! #Scarathlon2022 #TeamMonsterMash @StayCurious #Spookoween2022 @TheSpineView #31by31 @Catsandbooks #PointsAThon @dieareader @GHABI4ROSES #OutstandingOctober @andrew65 #bodycountbingo @PuddleJumper #LittenListen @aperfectmjk
Starting book 2 of the Thursday #Murder Club series on audio today. Super excited for this, I adored the first one! #Scarathlon2022 #ScarathlonDailyPrompt #TeamMonsterMash @StayCurious
I very much enjoyed this one. Am sure the sunny location helped ππΉππ
Worse places to be reading π πππΉ
1. Just finished The Man Who Died Twice.
2. Strawberry Acai Refresher
3. Possibly go visit @NataliePatalie in Maryland.

Just as enjoyable as the first in the series. His characters are wonderful...loveable with foibles.
Okay onto the second of this series and am kind of hooked. An old colleague/husband of Elizabeth is in hiding in the neighbourhood from the London underworld accused of stealing 20M pounds in diamonds. Murder and chaos results and the team of septuagenarian and octogenarian nursing home residents undertake to investigate the resultant murders. Light, cliched but overall a lot of fun
I am in absolute love with this series and can‘t wait for book 3 to be released. These characters are so lovable and I root for every single one, even the bad guys!!
Cold brewπ§keto cupcakesπ§and a nice morning catching up with my latest comfort-read of octogenarian crime solvers! I hope very much to be as much of a battle axe as Elizabeth someday.
Has anyone else seen a movie with a bunch of aging superhero‘s set in a nursing home? I cannot remember the name, but it has similar vibes to TMC. I wonder if osman watched it while writing?
There are so many great titles beginning with the #letterM! I had to go with this one though. I loved it!

A lovely holiday read. Another murder mystery to be solved by the four elderly friends from Cooperβs Chase retirement village. Everyone - police, spies, criminals - has a human side and friendship wins the day.
I just couldn't stop listening to this (which is good for my husband because I did more #chores than normally, so I had an βexcuseβ). So yeah, I just love these characters. I ended up preordering the next one (again, thanks, @ChrissyReadIt) and will only have to wait for a little over a month, so... perfect timing!
#DogsOfLitsy
The usual humours mixed with multiple murders & a clever plot made me love this one even more than the first book!
It did get a little slow at times, but the witty banters & friendship between the members (of Thursday Murder Club) from the retirement village made me giggles out loud & reminded me not to underestimate your elderly! I want to join their community & be as sassy as Elizabeth & Joyce when I grow old! π

I loved the first book so much β€οΈβ€οΈ. I had to download the second one (also so that a lot of y‘all thought the second one was even better !!!)
Again thanks @Chrissyreadit
This was delightful. Not sure why I waited so long to read it after loving the first book in the series, but I read it today and highly recommend it. I will definitely read the next one when it comes out! The writing style just really makes me chuckle, as you can see in his author blurb. π

If you liked the first book, you might like the second even more! It‘s clever, charming, funny, and poignant.
The mystery has multiple murders and stolen diamonds, but the great characters are what really shine. I especially love Elizabeth and Joyce! π§
When a man from Elizabeth‘s past shows up the group finds themselves with a new mystery to solve.
Picking up this book was like reuniting with old friends. I love the Thursday Murder Club with all of their quirks. I agree that this book was even better than the first. I cannot thank @AmyG enough for kindly sending this book my way. Cannot wait for the next installment!
This one was even better than the first in the series. I keeping trying to decide which of the main characters is my favorite. I think probably Elizabeth because she‘s just so clever, but Joyce is fun. I especially like that the book features some journal entries from Joyce that bring in new layers of the story with a lot of humor. Ibrahim, Ron, and Bogdan are also great. I‘m ready to read more of their adventures.
This was my #BookSpin for July
Saw Litsy reviews for this series and picked the first two up for my plane ride to Ireland and back. Perfect vacation reading, so thank you, Litsy! And Ireland was AMAZING. π
The intrepid members of the Thursday Murder Club are at it once again! An ex-husband from Elizabeth‘s secret past suddenly resurfaces & inserts himself into her life. Murder & mayhem soon follow. A malicious mugging of one of their own, stolen diamonds, organized crime, & spies add to this ingenious, at times humorous, novel. #ThursdayMurderClubMystery
Happy Fourth of July! Preserving our democracy, as imperfect as it is, is more vital then ever this year, with its promise of inherent rights for all at risk. #starsandstripes #USIndependenceDay #humanrights #coffeeandbooks #porchlife #JulyJam
I know that I will read the weekly section for #CL and #SBR and finish my two current reads. I am pretty sure I know what‘s next. The Prophets is off my #NYWD list and my July #BookSpin and Ghost is for #AuthorAMonth and is my July #DoubleSpin. Love when I can knock off two challenges with one book. Looking forward to both.

Another trip to a nearby library in Avon, CT.
Fabulous. Even better than the first in the series. Elizabeth and Joyceβ¦great characters.
#Bookspin finished. @TheAromaofBooks
I think I loved this one even more than the first! Can‘t wait for the next one.
#BookMoods #SecondInASeries I loved this 2nd in the series as much as (if not more) than the first!
