Atmosphere was cozy and the plot was so much better than in the prequel. This was much better structured.
I had a good time with this one!

“I am learning that it is important to stop sometimes, and just have a drink and a gossip with friends, even as corpses start to pile up around you. Which they have been doing a lot recently.
It's a balancing act, of course, but, by and large, the corpses will still be there in the morning, and you mustn't let it spoil your Domino's.“
I love the Thursday Murder Club. The characters are wonderfully complex-clever and witty. The mystery is well crafted and I love the way it unravels. It was a delight to read.
The 1st book in this series was hard for me to get into, but by the end I liked it. This 2nd book felt like the author hit his stride & I loved returning to these characters. I‘m firmly invested now and can‘t wait to keep reading. This one included an ex-husband, Some stolen diamonds, and more from my favorite character, Bogdan. I loved that the mystery was intriguing, but it‘s truly the characters & their relationships that keep me turning pages.
I flew through this second installment and loved it. A lovely group of companions on a rainy Saturday. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
4 Stars • Elizabeth, from the Thursday Murder Club, receives a letter from her supposedly dead ex-husband, Douglas, claiming he's in danger due to a diamond theft from a past heist involving a criminal named Marcus Carmichael. The club, including Joyce, Ibrahim, and Ron, investigate after a local drug dealer's death seems linked to the diamonds. Their sleuthing involves navigating local crime, corruption, and espionage.
This was just as fun as the first one. I liked seeing more backstory on some of the characters. The side characters were just as great as the main four and gave the feeling of catching up with old friends.
I already liked the first case of the Thursday Murder Club. Their second case is even better. I thought it was even funnier than the first one. And I liked that the story focused more on the life of the members of the club. I am looking forward to read the next one.
Enjoying the sun in Switzerland before the summer ends - with a nice murder mystery. 💀💀🕵️♀️🕵️♀️
This series is so comforting to listen to. I think this narrator adds a lot to the experience. #comfortreads
I‘ve been on a mystery kick lately, and while “cozy” mysteries aren‘t normally my thing, I really enjoy this series for its unique group of protagonists of seniors in a retirement community who may be older, but certainly are not doddering. The characters are all wonderfully drawn (particularly Elizabeth and Joyce) but all the characters, even the supporting ones, are unique and add to the fun. Can‘t wait to read more.
Love this series!! It kept me guessing and I just love the characters. 💖🦊 This would be a great series to take on holiday.
The Thursday Murder Club is back! Someone from Elizabeth‘s past arrives at Cooper‘s Chase asking for help and Ibrahim is attacked. The clubbers are on the job to find justice for their friend, solve some murders and cash in on a financial windfall. The characters are well written, the plot twisty and the friendships stronger. The narrator, Lesley Mann breathes life into Osman‘s delightful novel. 4/5 ⭐️ for our witty clubbers.
I so enjoyed this! This is a new to me series and quickly becoming a favorite - delightful plots and even more delightful characters.
Great part two of a series!

Tagged was my first book I finished in 2024 - right after midnight. It was actually the reason I stayed up because I was enjoying it so much! So I definitely recommend this series, waiting for the third one to become available from my library. 😁
This was an absolute delight! Continuing the misadventures of an odd group of friends, which includes several retirees, some police and a hot guy with questionable morales. The mystery is fun and them unraveling it is so much fun. Great first read for 2024! 5⭐️

Book 2 in the "Thursday Murder Club" series about crime-solving pensioners, was entertainment for Mrs swynn and I during our long holiday drives. It's hard to find stories we both enjoy, so I'm happy to report that TMC was a hit, and we would "read" another one together.
My December #doublespin did not disappoint. I enjoyed being back with the Thursday Murder Club.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Just as much wholesome fun as the first in the series. A lot to love, and just what I needed in my ears on a tough day.
My reading goal this year had been 90 books (Actually it had been 25, then 50, then 75…I‘ve surpassed my expectations and thrown myself into reading again) and this book will get me to my goal. I loved the first instalment of the Thursday Murder Club, and cannot wait for more. YouTube has some wonderful interviews Richard Osman had when promoting these books and it‘s made me thirsty to read them all. Will let you know how I get on! #RichardOsman
This series just gets better and better. In this novel we find out a lot more about Elizabeth‘s background and how she is still pretty much top of her game. Dead men come back from the dead, spies, intrigue, diamonds, murder, mayhem, plots, triple crosses, what more do you want? It‘s probably in there. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book flies and I loved it as much as the first. The title itself - when an explanation was provided at the end, added alot of heart to it.
I am so glad any time I stumble upon a new series that I love ❤️. This is the 2nd book in the Thursday Murder Club series, and it was just as charming as the first. The characters and their dynamics together are so lovable, and the mystery is always satisfying (although I did correctly call this one early). I already picked up the next 2 books!
And this post catches me up on my finished reads over the last five or six weeks ✔️.
I enjoyed this one so much more than the first. I was laughing out loud quite often and man, I hope I have a gang like these folks when I am retired.
Book 12/14 for #14books14weeks2023 (really stretching those 14 weeks….)
I'm really enjoying this series. The characters are so interesting and complex, and the mysteries are fun but serious.
I liked this one better than the first one in the series.
A fairly easy start to my holiday reading. It was a bday present two yrs ago and I was in no rush to get to it but as with book 1 this is a fairly gentle crime story in which the 4 pensioners combine to solve a mystery. Here, Elizabeth (ex mi5 operative) is confronted by her past and some disappearing diamonds. It is an easy read, but the series is probably too gentle for my liking. It's still definitely an easy holiday read.
The first one was fun. Then, the second one was just okay ….

This was one of no more than five fiction books available for sale at the Denpasar airport and I was desperate. Admittedly, one of the other books was Sorrow and Bliss, which I loved. But still a pretty poor showing.
Anyway, I would not have picked it up under other circumstances but I found I thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters were very funny and it was a lovely read. I will be returning to the first.
Elizabeth's ex-husband seeks her help when he comes under suspicion of stealing diamonds worth £20,000,000.
An excellent combination of thrills in the story and laughs in the characters' interactions. A bout of insomnia made this a very quick read.
My library hold came available for book two of this series & I couldn‘t resist reading it this weekend. I think I enjoyed it even more than the first—I adore this group of seniors & their friends (especially Bogan)! The author does an excellent job of combining humor, heart & a few thrills into an entertaining & absorbing mystery with multiple twists that kept me guessing. I can‘t wait for my hold on book three to come in!

I just absolutely adore an author who can make me laugh, cry, and gasp all in one sitting. A perfect second book after a perfect first!
There was a sale today at a local book store, so naturally I made a day of it ☺️ Here‘s my eclectic #bookhaul, plus a puzzle for good measure! Bookish Sundays are the best kind of Sundays. Besides, I was chomping at the bit to get the second Thursday Murder Club book after finishing the first late last night!
5-3-23: My 46th finished book of 2023! The Thursday Murder Club is back in Book 2 and this one was a lot of fun! So much happens and the septuagenarians don‘t miss a thing! Murder, diamonds, the mafia, mistaken identities, and Elizabeth, Joyce, Ron, Ibrahim and Bogdan are on the case, or cases. When an unexpected visitor, someone from Elizabeth‘s past, sets everything into motion, it‘s up to the club to sort it out. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️📖#️⃣4️⃣6️⃣
Second book in the series, even better than the first.
Fun, funny, clever and touching.
These books feel like a cheerful battle waged against ageism, all the assumptions people make about, underestimations of, senior citizens, all the while giving these older characters rich inner and outer lives that are more than just busting simple stereotypes. 1/3
Ah, Joyce, always willing to look on the bright side of murder. 😬🫣🙃
Mobster defeated by Zoom. 🤭😂
Joyce: definitely the kind of character who sparkles. ✨☺️
Just renewed my library card, I am not using it often but they even have a decent original version selection ;) just no jo Walton in English...
Love this series. Starting the next immediately.
Love. Love. Love. Love. This. Book. Couldn't love it more! Even funnier than the first one and I didn't think that was possible. The dry, unassuming humour, the vivacity of the characters and the clever plot just kept me so engaged. Next one please!
