I very rarely watch films, never mind book adaptations, but I think this is one occasion where I preferred the film over the book... 😱

Such a fascinating person! Reads like fiction

#TheChase is one of my favorite episodes. In it, the major aliens in the show and the Enterprise crew are in a race to gather DNA samples from various planets to put together to solve a puzzle.

I thought the message was positive, and it explained why all the aliens look similar 😉

One of my favorite chase-centered books & movies is Catch Me If You Can. It was one of my favorite pieces of nonfiction when I started reading again after vet school.

Wow! This book was not something I thought I would enjoy, but I did in the end. This man is absolutely brilliant. It‘s amazing he got away with as much as he did! I chose this as my true crime book for my 2019 reading challenge. Thanks @jenniferajanes for helping me pick this book!

Disclaimer: I listened to the audiobook. Having seen the movie years ago, I was curious about the book. A great listen, offering more factual information than the movie, and with a surprise ending. Highly recommend.

This is definitely one of those occasions where the movie is better than the book (if you haven't seen it yet, I'd highly recommend it). Abagnale's story is insane regardless of what the movie portrays. I just couldn't get past the repetition, and his dialogue sounding like the script from Grease.

But really, how the heck does someone impersonate a pilot? I crack up if I tell a white lie.

Oh my gosh. It's only noon and it's been one hell of a day. So excited that I get to just relax and read this book for the rest of the day. Is it too early for wine? 😅 (Just kidding...kind of.)

A semi-autobiography of a former con artist who describes his stories of criminal acts and astonishing escapes while being pursued by the FBI. It was adapted into a film in 2002.

Just listened to this as an audiobook and it was super fun. Frank does some amazing things, playing all the systems and people he encounters. He comes off as smart and confident, even after all his machinations fall apart.

I've seen the movie, and finally decided to pick up the book (audio). This was a really fun read, and I found myself laughing and just shaking my head in amazement at everything he got away with -- and at such a young age.

The only nitpick I have is that the story ended quite abruptly, and didn't go into his post-criminal life at all. I wanted to know where he went afterward, and while I could have found it online, I wish it'd been in the text.

Frank Abagnale was a total slippery person. He slipped through cops and FBI's fingertips for years. Cashing bad checks. Passed himself off as a pilot, doctor, lawyer, and a teacher. All before he was 30!

Great audio book. It was a lot of fun I was rooting for Frank quickly. The narration was really good. The only thing I didn't care for was how abruptly it it ended. I would have liked to hear about how he was approached to be a security consultant.

Finally finished this after sitting on my shelf forever! Super interesting read about a guy who was a genius con artist and didn't even graduate high school. I loved reading about the adventures of Frank but I felt some information was repeated a lot and some chapters could have been cut down while still being interesting! Now should I watch the movie?

Frank Abagnale wanted - and pretended - to be several different professionals in order to con companies out of money. This book is 🔥🔥🔥. Highly recommend it! The movie is excellent, too. #Wannabe #90sInJuly
