I love a book that makes you scream, “WHAT??????”
Twisty, suspenseful mystery about a couple of missing persons cases and the detective trying to solve them. Told in multiple perspectives, this book has deeper themes of moral dilemma, parenting (what would you do to protect your child?), and marriage. Good read! Audio has multiple narrators, but the mystery elements required more of my attention than a typical easy audio listen. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 ❤️📚
This was a roller coaster ride of an audiobook! While it did have its moments of seeming a little too far fetched and convoluted it was still wildly entertaining and I couldn‘t figure out how it would all play out. I enjoyed every minute and would definitely recommend. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
8/30/24 completed 6/10 got better at the halfway mark… unfortunately would have liked more of the ending!
Gravitated to the colorful cover. Stuck around for the good mystery and cleverly disguised twists.

“From the author of the Reese‘s Book Club Pick and the New York Times bestseller Wrong Place Wrong Time comes a new heart-stopping thriller in which a missing-person case unravels deeper, darker secrets that lead a detective to an impossible moral choice.
Not everyone who is lost should be found…”
This was so fun figuring out the truth. Well written and fast paced. I will definitely be adding McAllister‘s other books to my tbr.

Another strong one from McAllister. There's a lot of complex layers going on, which keep the pages turning and your mind whirling. I had a couple of things figured out but not everything, which is how I like my thrillers.
12-31-23: My 105th finished book of 2023 and my final book of 2023 pictured here with my new glass mug from my youngest daughter which is full of wine on this New Years Eve night! What a twisty one this was. Julia Day is a DCI in Portishead who is investigating yet another missing girl. Between that and helping keep her daughter safe from a serious allegation, DCI Day is trying to keep it all together. Happy New Year! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️📖#️⃣1️⃣0️⃣5️⃣
Soooo much fun! Lots of twists I didn‘t see coming!

A young woman mysteriously disappeared in an alley. Everyone is suspicious. Everyone has something to hide.
"A mystery that will immediately pull you in with a shocking twist"

I couldn't wait to read this one. I got up early to start reading it. So far I like it.

Four stars for this thriller about a cop who is tempted to become crooked to protect her daughter. I was definitely surprised a lot by the plot developments and there were surprises unfolding until the final pages. I still liked her previous book better- Wrong Place Wrong Time- but this was very good too!
Here is a picture of me reading with all 3 cats!
At first I did not like this as much as Wrong Place Wrong Time. There seemed to be too many perspectives and I wasn‘t seeing the big picture. But once it started coming together it was great. One twist made me literally gasp out loud! Just like her previous book, the author does a great job showing how far a parent will go for their child but in a completely different type of story. I really enjoyed it.
I seldom give 5 stars to a mystery/thriller because I typically find at least something in the story to gripe about. I‘m thrilled to tag one as my grid favorite!
5* = Loved It, want to shout out loud about this book! I do/will own/keep a physical copy. A+
4*= I liked it, would love to discuss. Solid B
3*=Meh, no need to discuss. Avg C
2*=Nope D
1*=DNF F
I wanted to love this, as I thoroughly enjoyed Wrong Place, Wrong Time, but this didn't quite hit the same way. Much of the detective work and scheming just seemed so far-fetched. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was riveted to this one and found how the story weaved together to be thrilling mystery writing. I don‘t always understand the nuances in the why or when of mystery vs thriller, but which ever one this was - it was very good. I really like this author!
I listened to the audiobook of this, made it my little ritual while I was doing the dishes at night. It was intriguing and relaxing, I loved whoever did the voice for Julia Day. This is a solid crime novel, I enjoyed it and would read more books from this author centered around Julia. This book really wasn‘t twisty or shocking, just a good British crime novel. Felt like I was watching a tv series lol
⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
Bailing for now. The jumping POV‘s is not allowing me to settle into the story. It may be I‘m not in the right mood for this one. If I hear good buzz I may give it another try later. I did really like her previous book.
Started this one last night. Woke up with a migraine, so didn't get any reading done, but hoping to read some before bed.
I truly enjoyed this book. Five bright shining stars for Gillian McAllister‘s new book, Just Another Missing Person. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Woo hoo! I can finally see the pictures on Litsy again. 🎉 I was starting to get worried. Picture of my cats, Sophie and Albus, for attention. 😆
Highly anticipated read from one of my favorite authors! Just Another Missing Person by Gillian McAllister. ❤️
I really enjoyed the author's “Wrong Place Wrong Time“ so requesting this ARC was a no-brainer. The first half was a bit slow & I didn't really enjoy it much due to the main character. The second half of the book actually saved it though. There were some good twists & the main plot line itself was very well done. Verdict: first half slow & MC was difficult to empathise with, but the second half pulled it round with some well-timed twists. 4🌟
