I forgot to include this #JumpStart2024 Second book for this Readathon @Lizpixie
Second book read in January 2024. I love this series. 2nd book of the Wellington Years, a continuing of the original Kate Daniels series. #SeriesLove24 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView #ReadAway2024 @DieAReader @GHABI4ROSES @Andrew65 #JoyousJanuary one of many goals accomplished for this one. This one was about going back to life they wanted and were meant to do. Lots of great fights. 2 bingo spots with this one. #ISpyBingoJan @Clwojick @TheAromaofBooks
#JoyousJanuary @Andrew65 will be spent on 3 #BuddyReads. #PemberLittens #JaneAdjacent #InDeathLongReadathon #LitsyLoveRomance and my own book Magic Claims.
I think the world building for this new series is even more exciting than with the first series. While listening to Magic Claims, it seemed like my eyes just got bigger and bigger with each new development. If you are a fan of the first Kate Daniels series, you should run, RUN to add Magic Tides and Magic Claims to your library. So much fun! All the ⭐️✨🌟💫🌠☄️🤩
My #20in4 final. I didn‘t make 6 books but I‘m happy with that I finished 2 books and 3 novellas. I finished 45% of Chilling Effect before DNF‘ing it and started The End of Everything, which I hope to finish by the end of the month.
Thanks Andrew for hosting! This mini readathon definitely got me out of my recent reading slump.
Kate & Curran are one of my favorite book couples of all time, so of course I love this new spin off series. I love this new storyline of their new life and realizing that they cannot escape their power and leadership. Kate especially comes into her strengths in this book and I cannot wait to see what Ilona Andrews comes up with next. I do recommend reading the Kate Daniels series first, you will be missing a lot if you start with this series. 5⭐️
Another excellent tale in the series! I am excited by this one as it makes me hope that more Kate and Curren novels are forthcoming.
An ancient magic has held a town hostage and Kate and Curren accept a forest in payment to free the town. Much magic and politics happens and the world expands some more.
4.5/5 stars, I really really want another full series.
This was everything I expect from IA: action, mystery, adventure, strong characters, snark, and an overall great ride. Kate and Curran get wrapped up in a struggle against mysterious forces and start working toward their own future. The timeline is a little weird if you‘ve read Blood Heir and Iron Covenant, but it all works (and the authors have a timeline explanation on their blog). Not a great standalone, but perfect for fans.

Pretty good reading week. Finished my commute/gaming audiobook and managed to read one by eye as well.

This week my goal is to keep up with my current reads. I will definitely finish the audio but I'm kind of in a slump about eye reads so we'll see.
Next to Martha Wells this is probably my favorite author(s). I loved being back in this world with these characters and seeing how they are living their lives now that their overarching story arc has ended and they are in their happily ever after. I think I really enjoy the most the relationship between the main characters because their union is based on trust and a complete understanding of who their partner is.
