I love Kelly Bishop even more after reading her memoir about her life in show business. From ballet to Broadway to Gilmore girls, it‘s all fascinating!
My daughter and I were supposed to be in London over the weekend but 💥 🔥 cancelled our flight 🙄 so we did a book crawl around Charlotte all weekend instead 🤷🏻♀️ not the same, but not all bad! 19 bookstores, plus one free ARC from one of them for spending too much money 🤣
A conversational deep dive into Bishop‘s impressive career. You can‘t deny how hard-working she is. I found the book a bit difficult to connect with. I think I would have connected with it more if some of her reflections had been woven in earlier. The end resonated, as she shares poignant insights on caregiving, loss, and embracing aging. If you like show business memoirs, I‘d recommend the audiobook. ⭐⭐⭐/5 ❤️📚
I have always been a Gilmore Girl Fan. I listened to the book with Kelly Bishop as the narrator. I enjoyed listening to her story and what she had gone through to get where she did. There were times I cried, which surprised me, but overall, it was a wonderful read.

It was lovely to listen to the voice of Emily Gilmore for the duration of this audiobook. Bishop seems to be, for all intents and purposes, exactly who I expected her to be. She has had a long, successful career in the performing arts, and is an advocate for women's reproductive rights. Don't expect her to dish any entertainment gossip in her memoir - she keeps it classy 😉

My #bookspin pick for December…ack! I finished the challenge! 🙌🏼🥳
So looking forward to Year 5 of this challenge! Thank you, @TheAromaofBooks 🥰
I will admit I knew nothing about Kelly Bishop besides Gilmore girls. I knew she was also in Dirty Dancing, but that was it. So learning about her life and her struggles and just dedication to dancing and her career was amazing. I loved this! And having her read it to me was perfect.
As a GG fan and acquiring an admiration for Emily Gilmore during my re-watch (and long-winded voice note discussions with a friend and fellow fan), I‘m so happy I got to listen to the audiobook. Hearing Kelly recount her wonderful career and life experiences was such a treat!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My daughters and I love The Gilmore Girls and I loved this book. Only about 1/4 is actually about that show, but Bishop has had an interesting life in the entertainment business. Her accolades include a Tony award as an original cast member of “Chorus Line” on Broadway. I mostly listened to the audio and it‘s great. (Emily‘s voice! 🥰)
My library hold finally came through, so excited! 🥰

A bit late with my wrap-up, but this weekend was just crazy.
The Third Gilmore Girl was definitely my favourite.
Listening to this ✨️mahvelous✨️ audiobook while I work the bookshop today. 📚🤍
I thoroughly enjoyed each second I spent listening to this audiobook.
I find Kelly to be the force of nature I'd always pictured her to be. Hearing her desires and struggles, and how graciously she accepts life and its circumstances was such an inspiration.
In Kelly Bishop‘s memoir, she shares how she went from her childhood in ballet to Broadway and iconic roles in A Chorus Line, Gilmore Girls and Dirty Dancing. This book isn‘t really gossipy at all — the biggest controversy might be her take on which boyfriend was right for Rory! — but I enjoyed it. I especially liked how she shared her relationships with her second husband and with her Gilmore TV family. I was excited to see her on her book tour.
I had no idea she had done so much! No prizes for the writing, but felt honest.
This was very engaging, quick and a bit surface level but an interesting look at Bishop's life. I appreciate her general attitude about being in the entertainment industry. She is the perfect balance of confident and gracious. She worked incredibly hard and both appreciates and enjoys her life. Her poor husband, I didn't know who Lee Leonard was before this, his health struggles were incredibly sad. Now off to watch some GG
I really enjoyed listening to Kelly Bishop tell me about her life. The majority of this is her time before Gilmore Girls, but it was delightful to get a look inside her life.
This was lovely - I‘m a hard core GG fan, and was so interested in learning about Kelly‘s life! I had (incorrectly) assumed that GG was her “big” role, but she has truly done it all! (45)

An utterly fantastic road trip listen. I love Kelly‘s voice, her stories, her attitude. No notes.
Really enjoyed hearing Kelly Bishop talk about her new memoir The Third Gilmore Girl tonight. My picture isn‘t great but the conversation was!
