Things really escalated in this volume. I loved that now what seemed to be contained in Wisconsin has broken free and strange things are happening in New York.

There were some truly gruesome panels in this volume and the artists did a great job.

I'm still unsure where the story is headed, but I'm loving the build-up. Plus, there was a bonus Revival/Chew crossover that was excellent.

My second read of this graphic novel was just as great as the first. I decided it was time to finish the series for #Scarathlon. @Clwojick

In a rural town something strange happens when people start coming back from the dead. I love the mix of small town characters, the supernatural, horror, and the mystery. There's a lot going on in this first volume and I can't wait to see what happens next.

For one day, the dead came back to life in rural Wisconsin. But there‘s definitely something different about them. Brutal murders have happened around town, the CDC has placed the town on quarantine, and wails can be heard in the woods.

I‘m looking forward to reading more in this series. +16 #TeamHarkness #Scarathlon2020 #Screamathon2020 #ReadLikeHellathon

The lady at my comic book store suggested this series to me since I like Locke & Key and Saga. So far so good. This one sets up the story pretty well. I look forward to Volume 2.

Volume 4 took some turns but also had some very satisfying moments. Still creepy. Still a great story.

I really liked this volume - the Dana in New York section was great, and I am interested to see what happens with the investigation into Em‘s murder. Will keep reading the series!

Finished volume 1 and immediately proceeded to volume 2. Keeping the town in quarantine means you meet lots of quirky locals but the best character is the younger sister, who has become an avenging angel.

The undead come back to life but only in rural Wisconsin and also there are some murders. Zombie noir!

Loved this one. It seems to get mixed reviews but definitely enjoyed it. Not quite as good as Harrow County but a similar vibe. I picked up volume 2 and 3 yesterday. Hoping to see the characters fleshed out a bit more. Graphic novels are definitely growing on me. 🖤

Meh. This comic series has a great concept (the dead in a small town start coming back to life, town is under quarantine, cop must solve murder in this environment), but it falls short. I liked the idea that the dead are revived as their former selves rather than zombies, bit that is where the originality ends. Stock characters with shallow motivations. Ridiculous or predictable plot points. I just don‘t care enough to keep reading.

This series was great... highly recommend. There was a sub plot I wish they had skipped but a pretty solid series otherwise. I'm sad to see it go. #screamathon #horror #graphicnovels

Okay so for an actual review of this: the second trade is definitely good on its own, but I'm not sure that I'll continue with the series. The story is officially going way too slow. I feel like two minimal things have happened to further the entire story, even though wild events happened every other page of this book. It's good, but I'm not invested. Too slooooow.

Just put forth ~maximum effort~ and read the second trade of (this listing!) and the 5th Lumberjanes. Because I've read two comics today about a zombie apocalypse and I rlly need some Jen and Jo in my life. Jo is my fav camper but I think she and Jen are tied for my favorite characters in the series. I wish I didn't identify with Jen so much...but my neuroticism levels are at all time highs. Just like hers. 💛😱

The Revival comic series (which is a super cool not-quite-zombie series) is set in my hometown of Rothschild, WI. It's a pretty small town, and I was actually home visiting my parents when I found the first volume of the series at B&N! This building was less than a mile from my childhood home, and it also housed the library (which I would ride my bike to most days in the summer). #setinabelovedlocation #17booklove

Midwest noir is apparently my jam. Officer Dana Cypress is assigned to the Revitalized Citizen Arbitration Team after her small Wisconsin town becomes home to some undead residents -- including her sister. She juggles a disapproving father, dangerous job and increasingly agitated populace while trying to keep everyone safe (including her son) and solve her sister's murder. This is an awesome introduction, and I can't wait to delve deeper.

A little zombie-ish, a little "Stranger Things"-y. A great sci-fi pick with an interesting twist on some common ideas. Bonus: if you've ever lived in Central Wisconsin, there are lots of references you'll get but probably no one else will!

This is literally the building that housed the library I rode my bike to almost every week growing up. This is so trippy. Walk in those doors and turn right for the library, left for the city hall and police department.

So, this series takes place (or at least begins) in the tiny Wisconsin town I grew up in! Has your hometown ever been featured in a book/movie/show?

SGJ Yeah, but just because in the one who included it. 8y
Yournewfriendsams I love Jeffrey Eugenides' books for many reasons but one being there's a lot of metro Detroit shout-outs, which is where I'm from ☺️ 8y
BookishFeminist Yes- the show Mercy Street is takes place in civil war era Alexandria, VA which is where I live now. Also just about every political thriller. 8y
