One Hot December | Tiffany Reisz

Hard as steeland hotter still!Never mess with a woman who carries a blowtorch in her backpack. Welder and artist Veronica "Flash" Redding's playful sense of evil sometimes gets the better of her. Like when her insanely handsome, wealthy, suited-up boss gave her the most sensuously wicked night of her lifethen dumped her. Yep, revenge is a dish best served hot.Only Ian Asher isn't letting Flash get away quite so easily. He's not ready to forget the intensity between them. The searing heat when they touch. And the deliciously demanding control Ian wields in the bedroom. Now he has only the holidays to convince Flash that they belong togetherand that even the most exquisite, broken things can be welded back together."

Of the three books in the Men At Work based around holidays, this was second best. If you're looking for something more focused on Hanukkah (but lightly) this fits the bill. Ian is Flash's boss and they hooked up six months ago. Ian is a goody-two-shoes wealthy son of a Senator. Veronica is a lady welder, hence the Flash nickname. This book was just as spicy as the previous two but there was some added light kink in this, too.

This is the third book in Reisz‘s Men At Work trilogy. I didn‘t like it quite as much as the first two, but it was still a pick. The steaminess was still there, but something about it didn‘t grab me as much. It wasn‘t quite as humorous to me as the first two so maybe that was the problem.

Jas16 This was my least favorite of the three as well. 3y

Here‘s my december #bookspin #doublespin #bookspinbingo list. Most looking forward to reading kitschy nr 20 tbh, it‘s that time of the year again... I‘ve also joined the #WinterGames2020 (so this should be 35 early points) but have to confess I‘ve not quite gotten the hang of it yet. What to do? When to do? How to do? But who cares, as long as it‘s fun!? #readnosereindeer

TheAromaofBooks Looks great!! For #WinterGames I just kind of go with the flow - I'm not as into it as some folks get, but it's all good fun. The points spreadsheet is really going to help me keep track, I think! 3y
Heideschrampf @TheAromaofBooks me too! I‘m not planning of going all in, but i‘ll try to keep updating the spreadsheet. I‘ll probably forget after two days anyways^^ 3y
Kangaj1 I have The Shadow King on my list too. I tried reading it once and backed away when I saw no quotation marks. Now I just know going in that it will take a little brain power to stay with it. Heads up! 😀 3y
Heideschrampf @Kangaj1 lucky for me that i bought the audiobook then 🙈 3y

Finale to the “Men At Work” trilogy. I‘ve really enjoyed these books. This one is set at Christmastime, but isn‘t very much of a holiday read as far as plot goes. That‘s ok because it‘s a lot of fun. Flash is a female welder and artist who is struggling to sale her art; Ian is the wealthy heir to a construction empire. A little more insta-lovey than the rest of the series, with lots of banter and humor. A great read for the weekend! #novelnovember

Very enjoyable steamy romance, though the first in the trilogy was my favorite. Light to moderate domination and bondage play.

Welder Flash has had a thing for boss Ian for months, but after one night together he abruptly dumped her. What will happen when she gives her notice and walks away from him - will he follow?

Tentative plans for December. Some of these are Arcs from a friend that I am excited for. If I read at least 7 books this month I will have made a record 130 for 2019.

kimmypete1 You can do it! 7 books is less than 2 a week! 4y
MidnightBookGirl I am so excited for Spell Hacker! And IQ, Nevernight (esp on audio) and The Passage are all great reads! 4y

I'm going pick for this, though it wasn't my favorite in the series. The plot was fun - an edgy, blue collar female welder who goes by "Flash" (a nod to Flashdance) and her former boss who comes from a well-to-do family, with a Christmas/Hanukkah backdrop. But let's just say that "those scenes" aren't as steamy as I was expecting based on the precedent set in the previous books. Ha! #romantsy

callielafleur Ahhhh I love Tiffany Reisz! Have you read The Bourbon Thief? 6y
swishandflick @callielafleur Yes! So good! Her Original Sinners series is also fantastic 👌🏽 6y

Book club liked this book! Great banter, lots of sex (though it could have been steamier, tbh) and characters I actually cared about. (Link: http://www.cant-talk.com/2016/12/pancake-sex-book-club-one-hot-december/)

This is the last book in Reisz' sizzling Men at Work holiday series. I loved that this one had a blue collar heroine. She's a welder with short punk rock hair and tattoos. It's opposites attract for this h & h and their banter is the best. #romantsy

Jas16 I loved this entire series. I agree her banter is the best. 7y

Happy Friday, Littens! 🎉🎊 It's been a long and craptastic week, but everything is looking up because the weekend is finally here! I'm hoping to get a lot of reading done since the cold weather seems to be settling in for good here in the Mitten. I have quite a few books that I'm currently in the middle of that I'd like to finish and some that I'd like to start. I'll list them in the first comment. What are your weekend reads? 📚🍰☕ #readforever

It's so hard to believe that were at the last month of the year. I still have 10 more books to go to reach my Goodreads goal of 60 books read in 2016. And of course for my last TBR of the year, I didn't pick short books. Nope, I picked long books. Because why would you try to make things easier on yourself, Mandy?? 🎄❤📚🍰☕ #readromance #readforever

The final novella in this seasonal series was just as fun and sexy as the previous two. All of these feature couples with a high level of equality. No damaged alpha-holes or needy girls. Again the holiday theme is really light and in the background and this one features both Hanukkah and Xmas.
