For this #Recommendsday, I am looking for app and/or #audiobook suggestions!
The boys and I love listening to audiobooks in the car, and I love how many e-audiobooks are available through our local libraries. So tell me, am I missing the Golden Ticket of reading apps?
P.S. I know it's a bit ridiculous to have 8 apps for reading and *still* want more... but what can I say? Reading is my favorite.

KCorter @bookwrm526 I am okay with paid access if the app is amazing. I paid for the expansion to Serial so I could read ahead. Do you have a favorite? 7y
haileybean There's the books amino app, which is a social media app like this one. It seems to be a lot more YA centric. I think if I read more YA I probably would have liked it more. 7y

bookwrm526 @KCorter I use both Scribd (one audiobook per month) and Audible, which has a variety of options for number of books you get. Neither is particularly fantastic but I listen to a LOT of audiobook 7y

Caterina LibriVox is a free app that has public domain audiobooks read by volunteers. It's pretty good for being completely free! 7y
Larkken Podcasts!! I use Overcast to keep up with a variety of serialized fiction or other stories. Some of my fave atm include NightVale, Lore, Fiction for driving across America, Selected Shorts, and Snap Judgement. 7y

Mc_cart_ny I love Audible for audiobooks,but you have to purchase them (occasionaly you'll see good free ones). Narnia and HarryPotter are both great for parents and kids to listen along😊 7y
mjdowens No worries. The only one of those I DON'T have is Cloud Library and I am about to add it to my apps. 7y
CaroPi I also have a few... Have you tried #bookout? Is good to track your reading times. Also their costumer support via #twitter is pretty good 7y
ohyeahthatgirl I love my Podcast Addict app for short stories! The New Yorker is good, and the ones that @Larkken mentioned. 7y
Paula3 Audible is fantastic! I have a 6yr old & an 11yr old and we go through 3 books or so a month, just by listening to and from our after school activities. Kids stories go on sale pretty regularly. We loved the Fablehaven series by Brandon Mull :) raising readers ♡ 7y

KCorter @Paula3 Three a month?! That's great! It's amazing how much story you can ingest just while listening passively in the car or while doing chores. I love it! My boys even pick a book over music sometimes, and I couldn't be happier. :) #RaiseEmRight I'll have to check out Fablehaven. One of my friends at book club said her boys loved it as well. 7y

KCorter @Heretherebedragons They do! The Goodreads app isn't as powerful as the webpage. However, it is perfect for the features I use on Goodreads (tracking, adding to lists, searching for recommendations, etc.). You may need to stick to the webpage for groups, quotations, and adding content other than text to your reviews. 7y
