Following the events of their previous summer at New Hampshire College & the towering presence of Brookline asylum, Dan, Abby, & Jordan have remained in touch but can't seem to move on. Dan is persuaded into going to see Felix, another summer school student who has been institutionalised ever since, by Felix's mother & he tells Dan that he has to return to Brookline & gives him the co-ordinates for three addresses there.

OutsmartYourShelf So the three friends find themselves on campus once more, this time as 'prospies' (prospective students). They will need to sneak away from their guides to check out the addresses, but Dan has more problems - namely he has started to see the ghost of a young boy everywhere. Is he literally haunted?

OutsmartYourShelf I actually thought this was an improvement on the first book. It was much pacier, less focus on Dan & Abby's romance, & Jordan was at his best with the sarky comments. There were no big surprises but the story is unfolding nicely & I'm looking forward to the conclusion. 4🌟

OutsmartYourShelf @Sace I hadn't heard of it before, I happened to buy the 3 main books at a charity sale & they've turned out to be quite good. 1mo

‘Once you get in, there‘s no getting out.
Because it turns out Brookline was no ordinary psych ward. And there are some secrets that refuse to stay buried.‘

This is a good, quick read. Teens in a college prep program get caught up in a mystery involving the asylum‘s dark past.

3✨ As most seconds books, I didn‘t like this as much as the first one. It still was pretty creepy involving a hypnotist causing the campers to do horror things. It ended on a sadish note too. 😭 #SeriesLove @Andrew65 @TheSpineView

This isn‘t a time period I read about frequently. The Author read the book The Woman They Could Not Silence and was inspired to use it as a jumping off point in her Christian fiction story set on the Oregon Trail.

I had a hard time deciding if this book was a So-So or a Pick. I loved the story concept but at the same time I struggled with keeping all the characters straight in the storyline. I wish the story was more focused. It was also slow in some parts.

I found this book just ok. It was disjointed and hard to follow at times. The alluding to a labia relationship was distracting and felt like it was added as an afterthought.
