😐
Bit underwhelming and an abrupt ending.
Gorgeous psychological descriptions of what goes on in Edward's mind, but all in all I was missing something.

Low pick. Very low pick.
A fea fantasy, with the basis set around Camelot, King Arthur, knights of the round table but also a spy element It does have the usual tropes but I liked that it was very different fast paced, I liked the characters so was a pick for me I will read the next one out in September.

First goal met for #AwesomeApril readathon
This is my second book finished for the #AwesomeApril readathon hosted by @Andrew65
I reread this book for #LitsySciFiBookClub and loved it just as much this time around. The MC, Elma York, has this charisma about her that draws you in. She fought many uphill battles to reach her dream of becoming an astronaut and did it with a dignity we rarely see today. 5⭐️
I made more progress in this book tonight. I have 2 hrs and 4 mins left in this book.

“…every word an author writes causes ripples, like tossing a stone into a pond. And you don‘t know where they‘ll go, or who they‘ll touch, or when they might come back to you. I think everything you do is kind of like that, too.”
The crushing tragedies of adolescence require patience and trust and solid friendships characterized by unconditional love 💕

Read with #SheSaid for April, it‘s a well-researched & well-written look at why the Second Amendment was set up to fail Blacks from the get-go. The author expertly pulls facts & data together & it had me both horrified & angry.
The last sentence says it all “The Second is lethal; steeped in anti-Blackness, it is the loaded weapon laying around just waiting for the hand of some authority to put it to use.”
It started off okay but quickly became disappointing. Uneven pacing & writing, poor character development & world building. I won't even go into the plot holes. Gigantic ones that make me wonder what the actual idea was supposed to be because it really came across as a bunch of fantasy scenarios and tropes thrown into a pot and stirred but none developed.
It‘s a duology, but it didn‘t interest me enough to pick up book 2.
