#letstravelaugust @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @OriginalCyn620 I love this series that takes place in futuristic #NewYork, in 2059. The setting is always a big part of the story. Credit for these great drawings of Eve Dallas goes to the artists.
#quotsyjune19 @TK-421 “...without warning, he turned his head, looked five pews back across the aisle and directly into Eve‘s eyes. It was surprise that had her fighting not to jolt at that sudden and unexpected punch of power. It was will that kept her from blinking or shifting her #gaze. For one humming minute they stared at each other.” Roarke and Eve‘s first moment together.
I have read so many books in this series, out of order. Everytime I try to read them all in order, between finances and library lack I never get through them. Moved to Henderson, NV and it looks like between Henderson Library, and Las Vegas Clark County Library, I may FINALLY be able to read this entire series in order. Starting from this first book - and I must say, I think I had forgotten how much I enjoyed them.
@DannyHattan thanks for the tag @Eggs #whatwouldyoudo 1️⃣ Eve Dallas 2️⃣❤️❤️❤️ 3️⃣she‘s a total badass, she‘s smart, loyal, caring and snarky 4️⃣I‘m tagging @Stacypatrice and @Lovesbooks87

Good news - there is a whole bunch of books in this series
Bad news - you may add 40+ books to your TBR
Books # 45-48 that I‘ve read in 2019! 📚
45. “Naked in Death” (In Death # 1) by J. D. Robb ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨/5
46. “Opposite of Always” by Justin A. Reynolds ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
47. “A Princess in Theory” (Reluctant Royals # 1) by Alyssa Cole ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
48. “The Fever King” (Feverwake # 1) by Victoria Lee ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨/5
Great murder mystery. Complex female cop and steamy romance set in an interesting future. Loved it.
I recently acquired all of the books in the In Death series for an excellent price. I didn‘t know what to expect, but after a slow start, I finally got sucked into book one and really enjoyed it. There are some predictable plot points that I figured out early on, and it is a bit dated, but overall I‘m excited to keep reading the series! 4⭐️

I went on a business trip and promptly got sick. Thank goodness I had Naked In Death queued up on audio to distract me from how bad I felt. It‘s the first in a romantic suspense series set in 2058 in NYC. Eve Dallas, the MC, is a detective assigned to investigate a series of heinous murders on prostitutes (a legal profession in the US in 2058). I will definitely be continuing the series. #femaledetective #booked19
For anyone wanting to start the In Death Series by J D Robb, the first book is currently available for 99p in the U.K. and $1.26 in the US. Although no small undertaking as the 48th and 49th book are due to be published in 2019.
Anybody read all of these?

A #blameitonlitsy read. This is exactly what I look for in a romantic suspense! Loved the mystery and the characters.

Not really sure how I managed to miss this series that began 23 years ago, but glad It finally found its way to me... now how do I ever get through all 49 and counting installments.
Decided on a reread of the start of the series. I adore this mystery series that takes place in a futuristic NYC, and the earlier books are, for the most part, my favorites!
I saw this thing of Facebook that said “Who is your favorite literary couple?” Sooooo many people said “Eve and Roarke.” So I‘m like, who the heck are they?? And so, here I am. Starting the first book in a million book series, I‘m not even mad. I think it‘s just what I‘ve been needing.
Another series recommended by my sister. Eve Dallas, a tough detective investigates 3 brutal murders of prostitutes in the year 2058. Published in 1995, I found some of the "futuristic" elements outdated. Also, some major trigger warnings, which I wish I would have know about beforehand. I probably will not read anymore of this series, but it was a well written thriller.

One of my favorite murder mystery series is the In Death series by J.D. Robb (aka Nora Roberts). She said in a 2011 interview with The Guardian that Shakespeare‘s Much Ado About Nothing is one of her favorites because “it‘s a brilliant romantic comedy.”
I also love this photo of her b/c it‘s so Eve Dallas.
Sometimes I make good decisions when I can‘t sleep - mostly not but this decision to go back and reread the In Death series was aces. This one introduces Eve, Roarke and the near future setting in a quick, gritty detective novel with a nice side of romance. What‘s not to love? On to book 2! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
So, last night when I couldn‘t sleep, I decided I wanted to reread the entire In Death series from the beginning in order. At 47 books, I may have bitten off more than I can chew? Let‘s see how far I get...
1. Is this a horror story? Fake coffee?????
2. Interesting that Eve is referred to as sir by lower ranking cops
#manicmonday @JoScho 1. Eve and Roarke - In Death series
2. Yuki and Brady - Women‘s murder club series
3. Leslie and Ben/ April and Andy from Parks and Rec./ Dre and Bo from Blackish 😊
4. I don‘t want to say for fear of jinxing them and they break up. Which would break my heart😊
1. The ENTIRE In Death series (all 47+ of them!)
2. Mamma Mia! (And yes, I sing the lyrics to every song as loudly as possible while watching....and no, I am not a good singer!) 😫😫🤣🤣🤣🤣🤷🏻♀️💃💃🎤🎤🎤
3. Pasta, Chocolate, Cornbread (and no, not all at the same time 🤢)
4. I‘ll tag @Bourriquet76 , @ReadingRover or anyone who‘d like to play.
Thanks for the tags @JenlovesJT47 and @eanderson ! 🤗🤗

Complete joy right now visiting my folks. We love being up here in northern Michigan. I am sitting my a rocker, with my coffee and stack of books, wrapped in a fleece on this brisk summer day. Pure happiness! ❤️
I enjoyed this so much! I‘m so excited to have another long series to read thru!
At first, I wasn‘t sure how I would like the futuristic setting, but it was early in the story when I got really into it. The same with the romance between Eve and Roarke-I was worried it would water down the detective/crime parts of the story. It didn‘t though! I like Eve and Roarke a lot and am excited for the next installment, which I need to get my hands on ASAP.
I started the In Death series this morning! This is different from what I normally read because it is set in the future but so far I like it. Has anyone else read this series?
This should be just my thing. But I don‘t like Eve or Roarke or the relationship dynamic between them & I didn‘t care who the villain was.
Being Nora's fan of writing, absolutely loved her new take on thriller and future fast forwarded century.
Reading the series for the second time. I really like Eve Dallas as a character, and I love the futuristic setting, but Roarke didn‘t seem so appealing this time around.
Maybe it‘s because I‘m older (& hopefully wiser) but I found him very pushy and a bit controlling. I‘ll see how his character progresses. New rating: 3 ⭐️
Mystery – quite good. Setting (NYC in the not-so-far-off-future)– worked. Characters – not quite as believable as I would‘ve liked. Romance – quite a bit for a hard-core murder mystery…though I guess I‘m not complaining, just not used to it in the mysteries that I usually read. There are over 45 in the series now, and it sounds like people like it! I‘ll try at least one more. #murdermystery
Second time reading this and I literally remembered nothing. Based on my Goodreads rating tho, it seems like I enjoyed it more this time. I like the futuristic aspect (can I please have an Auto-Chef now?!). Definitely looking forward to continuing the series.
Absolutely stunning day here in Reno. Took a nice walk along the Truckee river downtown earlier (saw a guy walking his cat 🙄) and now relaxing in the backyard reading for a while. If only my annoying neighbors would go inside or at least STHU. What‘s your Sunday weather like today?
An okay read, but definitely *not* a cozy mystery. Prefer not to see things from the villain's POV. Had some issues with the very 80s-inspired future world building. Eve and Rourke are entertaining enough characters, but I had trouble believing their relationship progression. Might continue reading the series, but not any time soon, I don't think.
I have been hearing about this series for years (45+books) and the amount of books daunted me to be honest. I'm so glad I read the first book! It was so much better than I thought and it kept me guessing at who did it. Roarke.... Oh my! Brilliant read that keeps you turning the pages.
The scene this morning. Loving this book but also mildly terrified of it.
My friend completely unexpectedly, given her PhD and all the posh literature on her shelves, recommended this series to me ages ago. Still haven't got around to it.

I find the #indeath series to be #bingereads. Book 45 is released this month and that doesn't include the numerous novellas. #autumnreads
I was able to get out into the wilderness today! Then started reading the tagged book that I got at a local (amazing) used bookstore! So far it's a lot of fun #BlameitonLitsy
Eve is one of my favorite strong, #independentwomen. Roarke has his hands full trying to tame her! I love listening to Susan Ericksen's narration of the series. #audiobookstogo
#augustgrrrl
It's not hard to see why the In Death series is so popular, especially if you like romantic suspense! Set in a futuristic NYC, a badass murder detective meets a smoldering, savvy businessman with a *slightly* illegal hacking hobby (LOVE ROARKE ♥️). Now to add the other 45 BOOKS in the series to my TBR 🤦🏽♀️
On that note: ever think of ALL the books you want to read in your life and have a panic attack that you may not ever get to them all? 😩
Not terrible. Not surprising. Enjoyed it just enough to give book two a try.

#sweetsummerstack is typically a romance novel at the beach. This year, however, I'm determined to make progress with the In Death series. Seriously, how is she so prolific? @Liberty
I love this entire series! I read so many series and in most of them with each new book they switch to a new pairing and the stories don't feel complete. I love how well we get to know these characters and the world they live in! This is one of those series that O revisit often and will probably keep revisiting for years to come!
Ignore the horrendously ugly color of my walls! We are getting ready to paint and it will look a lot prettier once we do! But this is the beginning of my little book corner! Everything will change after we paint but for right now i think it looks cute! Not all my books are here yet! Im still moving in! #bookshelf #decor #jdrobb
Eve Dallas fits the definition of a #workaholic. It's a good think she has a such an attractive husband to help her get her mind off of work😉. #indeath #jubilantjuly
