Brilliant. Excellent. When I retire, I want to spy on people for my hobby too. I loved Miss Marple and can't wait for the next.

#Booked20 - more than 20 in series (I'm including the collections of short stories too)

Utterly charming! Loved spending time with Ms Boxfish while meandering around NYC. Thankful for the #Booked20 #winter2 prompt, hat/head covering on cover, to compel me to finally read this after having it for 2+ years. #MountTBR @Cinfhen @4thhouseontheleft @BarbaraTheBibliophage

Wow! Just wow! I never read a book in one sitting and King pulled me in and I could not or wanted to escape. Anthropology always interested me and learning about Aboriginal tribes at the same time becoming attached to Bankson and Nell was just the topping on the cake. Wow!

Set in Tanzania, a rich blend of east African spiritualist magic, Hindu folklore (demonic djinns), the Islamic faith, and German colonialism takes readers through history to find where a mganga is hiding. You don't find out what happened to the mganga till the very last page.

First read of 2020
Covers Trinidad and Tobago for #AroundtheWorld19

Full of what ifs and should have beens. All he ever wanted was a place of his own. Since he was a child, he'd been moved around by people who were stronger, especially by his awful in-laws. My heart broke for him. Naipal's subtle humor was delightful.
