I felt like this was a solid, well put together about the history and evolution of American bookshops. Did you know Benjamin Franklin had a bookshop? Did you know there was once a fascist bookshop in LA, that sold and promoted propaganda? This book is full of interesting facts. It shows how the ways in which we get books have changed over time—from street books, to indie stores, to big corporations, to billionaires like Amazon‘s Bezos. ⬇️

JenniferEgnor It also shows how bookshops have been and are, liberal spaces, promoting critical thinking, the advancement of our values, and activism. Books were not always available to everyone, and what was available was once very limited. Reading spaces were not always accessible to all people, either. Historically, bookshops have been safe spaces for marginalized folks, and remain so today. Right now, the right to read is being threatened like⬇️ 8h
JenniferEgnor never before. This is something to remember as you read this book. Books, libraries, and reading spaces are just as essential now, as they always have been. Books save lives. Many people would do well to realize that. 7h

Instagram kept feeding this up to me as an ad and I bit the bullet, expecting it would be a bit of a disaster IF it ever arrived. But it did and it‘s gorgeous! I‘ve only been to a few, including this library in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. This is the perfect book to curl up with and daydream ❤️

If historical fiction doesn't send you down countless Wikipedia holes, is it really good historical fiction? This one had me looking up articles on my phone in the middle of the night. 😂 I liked it a lot.

kspenmoll I enjoyed this too & yes, many rabbit holes to go down! 1d
Ruthiella When I read books like that, I wonder how I managed in a pre-internet age with usually at most an atlas for locations and a dictionary to look words up! 😅 1d

So I just finished The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore and am going to start The Christmas Tree Farm so here are my thoughts. Pumpkin Spice Cafe gave the Gilmore Girls vibes that I love and I really liked that book. Cinnamon Bun Bookstore is my favorite of the series so far and gave me rom com but not hallmark vibes. I love HANSOF and the spice, while not the spiciest thing I read was so dramatically different than PSC that it threw me for a loop! 5/5 ⭐️‘s

#WeeklyFavorites @Read4life

My favorite book of least week was, Bookshop Cinderella. I probably never would have read this one if it hadn't been for #LittensLoveRomance
Just goes to show, never judge a book by its cover.

Read4life Glad you enjoyed it! 💙🦋💙 5d

I read this book for #LittensLoveRomance hosted by @StayCurious. Total fluff and the definition of a beach read. I liked the characters, especially the FMC, Evie. The plot was good. I felt the ending was a bit rushed. If you like feel-good stories with little tension, this would be a good book for you. 3.5⭐️ #Read2025 @DieAReader #ShelfSweeper @Tove_Reads @Andrew65 #JumpStartSummer
