Read this recently, was not a big fan of it. I liked the concept, but the mc was really annoying at times.

Exploring themes of grief, starting over, finding oneself & family, this novel follows a woman rebuilding her life by running a family bookstore after a loss. It‘s a sweet, tender story with likable characters, but fell flat for me. Reading in short spurts contributed to a sense of detachment. The mystery of a family treasure felt underdeveloped & the story resolved too conveniently. Overall, a charming tale & an enjoyable read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 /5 ❤️📚

Um, so I only recently stumbled on Book Outlet (after hearing about it everywhere) and they‘re currently having a sale… so my finger slipped and I bought some books. 🫣

Once the movie crosses the 3 million mark, the production company will say something like, this movie has captivated more than 4 million viewers. And people will say, “Ooh I heard this film has attracted more than 4 million viewers already, shall we watch it too?“

Such a charming tale! Told in two timelines, a story of love, loss, independent women, and rare books. With a little magic thrown in.

I really enjoyed this, I thought it worked really well as an audiobook. Shaun is grumpy but loveable bookseller, who did make me feel guilty for owning a kindle. And not so guilty about my hoard of books. He paints vivid images of his customers and staff - not always favourable but usually very humorous.
