Went to visit my grandma at the cemetery for Mother‘s Day this past weekend. 💚

I feel your presence
as the breeze gently blows by.
A whisper of you.

Unbelievable ~ after almost 10 years of being on Goodreads and entering Giveaways, I received an email on Monday and the book arrived today. Frankly, I hate the word “offended”. I can‘t imagine a better time in my life to read this book and make that ONE change to rid my heart of anger.

CogsOfEncouragement Congrats! I really loved this book. I have to guess you found me by my posts about it. Enjoy! 2mo

Renewed love for the Psalms as these paraphrases spoke in clear words, expressing the various emotions experienced daily. #christiannonfiction #psalms

⭐️⭐️⭐️I didn‘t have any issue with the message of this book - I almost fully agree with his premise that we can choose to be unoffendable, reacting to people‘s anger with love. The reason I didn‘t love this one is because it felt very repetitive, &there were moments that felt like Hansen didn‘t allow for healthy ways to deal with our anger, it should just be dismissed. So it was fine for what it was, but I wish it had been a bit less…or a bit more.

“Okay. So this may sound like the dumbest thing you‘ve ever read, but here goes: you can choose to be unoffendable.”

This book is gutting and yet full of hope. The awful story of Levi Lusko‘s daughter dying just before Christmas is just so heartbreaking. Seeing how her family coped, what they chose to do, is incredible - I don‘t know that I could do it. A very inspiring story for any of us who have experienced the worst news ever. Great on audio ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If I‘m physically reading a book, I like to have some lo-fi music playing on YouTube in the background to help me concentrate on the book I‘m reading. I don‘t think I would be able to concentrate on any other kind of music. I like talking about my favorite artists and new discoveries. Music is one of my favorite topics to talk about besides books so this is perfect for me. I enjoy participating in this.

4✨ This book was about those that either had someone pass on who came back to comfort them, or those who passed the veil for a brief time. Those that came back provide encouragement that there is something else after this life. As a person of faith this brings me comfort that this life isn‘t the end. That those we love and miss who have left us are still out there waiting for our time. I wish this was actually written in the POV of the witnesses.
