Wow, I haven't been on Litsy in a couple weeks and August is somehow almost halfway through? I've been busy and stressed with work and life but still reading! Here's my very late July wrap-up with 23 books read, 1 DNF
I'm super behind on reviews so gonna try to catch up on those this week!
#MonthInReview

24 books finished in July! August here we come! My favorite from last month was In the Lives of Puppets by TJ Klune.
Here‘s what I read and watched in July as well as my thoughts on what I watched.
Firefly Lane - My mom and I watched this on Netflix. My mom liked it. I didn‘t. Maybe I‘ll like the book better.
Elemental - My birthday was on July 9. I went to see this with my mom. I really liked this. It was cute.
Oppenheimer - I went to see this with my stepmom, my brother and my sister in law. They liked it. I didn‘t.
@Andrew65 I did get all my hours read and a few things for school done!
Parents basement flooded with a pipe breaking and several inches of standing water for hours whilst they were out yesterday so not able to take pic of my reads! I did DNF after 50 pages a bunch from my TBR -but least it‘s off the pile!!! Phew…elderly parents and floods do not get along. 😵💫😵💫😵💫
My July TBR. I won‘t get to all of these but I will for challenges like #SundayBuddyReads #CampLitsy2023 #TitlesAndTunes #hashtagbrigade for #Pemberlittens #BookedInTime #DiverseCozy #SeriesLove2023 + my virtual foodie book club & leadership books for work I will. The others are “hope to get to” although I am in the midst of two of them & you never know what will just pop up & grab my attention.
💯 #moodreader
Looking ahead to my July TBR. Here‘s my #bookspin list. Lots of #AuthorAMonth, some #CampLitsy23 and #Roll100, and a few new additions to my shelves. Can‘t wait to see what‘s picked!
Happy 4th! 🎆🇺🇸
July I will be focusing in on my #cybils award reading - mostly elementary and middle grade speculative fiction with some random graphic novels thrown in. I don‘t have a ton of plans besides physical therapy and some family low key plans so hoping to have a fun July full of good books and fun.
@TheAromaofBooks #bookspin
Here is my #JulyTBR that I think is set. This includes continuing or finishing up series, some horror for #summerween, my #roll100 picks, my RL book club pick-Demon Copperhead and just things I feel like reading. I am going camping at the end of July and have a light activity month, so I anticipate lots of reading. I will, as always, be participating in #bookspin #doublespin & #bookspin
Still two books behind but starting adding my books back that have more than 200 pages.
#bookspin
My July Stats: 12 books read & one in process which is good for a month that got work busy. Finished my books for my virtual foodie book club (reread), #SundayBuddyRead & #PemberLittens (Longbourn is still in process) & one book tour review #ARC 📚I popped in a few library books & a couple of cozy mysteries & reread a childhood favorite.
My top 3 were probably Wordslut, Last Summer at the Golden Hotel & Mr. Malcom‘s List, but I enjoyed them all.

July was a slow reading month but I did get some “shorter (🌶🌶) novellas read that aren‘t included in my stats. No BINGOs either unfortunately.

Today, I‘m sharing the books I read in July. My goal this month was to finish reading the Dorothy Must Die series. I started the series in 2016. I‘ve had the 3rd volume of short stories and the 4th book sitting on my shelf since 2017 so I decided to finish the series. Since I finished the series, I‘ve been thinking about it a lot. It was so fun and magical. I‘m experiencing a book hangover.
Of course the dogs and cats book was my favorite for the month, but I also really enjoyed the Jason Reynolds series. #wrapup
#BookSpin #DoubleSpin #BookSpinBingo #BookNookBuddies2022 #SeriesRead2022
My choices this month. A #chunkster (Winter) & a long awaited #SeriesRead. I also listed is a little bit of play/more #Impulse reads.
I made my #bookspin list last week but forgot to post it. So here is also with with my #bookspinbingo board.
#bookspin is a romance book
#doublespin is Excellent Women for the #pemberlittens & I‘m planning to read The Watsons as well.
Left room for lots of mood reading and probably continuing the Icehome series by Ruby Dixon on KU. Also joining #littensloveromance in reading Boyfriend Material 💙 Lastly, spots for #roll100 & #authoramonth books
#BFC2022
June went surprisingly well for me. I read LOTS of queer stories and ate high folic foods more often. The uni draft isn't finished yet but that is due to ongoing medical complications.
Due to said complications, I'll have to be similarly chill with my July goals:
- High Folic foods 5/week
- Read at least 2 fairyloot books
- Tidy 1/week
@wanderinglynn
My #bookspinbingo list for July! I‘ve got a few reading challenges and requests in here as well as a couple from #LMPBC
Ahh! @TheAromaofBooks I have been terrible about posting my #bookspinbingo results & my list. This is my stack to pick from in July. I read 21 books last month so it's not too far over. 😁
It‘s the 1st July Baby! Wooo! This is my over ambitious July & August TBR pile. Can‘t wait to jump into these over the summer! 😎 🍹 🌞 #mounttbr
For my July TBR, I will be continuing with the Dorothy Must Die series. I‘m using Storygraph‘s Up Next feature to show what books I have to read next. I‘m hoping to start reading the last 2 short story collections and then maybe start reading the first and second book in the series. I don‘t know if I will get around to reading the 3rd and 4th books in July.
My July #bookspinbingo board!! I didn‘t do as well this month as in previous so fingers crossed for July 😆🤞

Only 6 books read in July, not my best, but I did get both my #bookspin and #doublespin books done!

July was a terrible reading month for me, hit a bad slump. Let's go August!🌞
Loved The Cold Vanish and enjoyed Can you keep a secret? Didn't love the other two.
July Wrap Up- 12 Books
Women Authors- 9
POC- 5
LGBTQ- 2
MtTBR- 4
Countries: Argentina, China, England, Israel, Palestine and Bounty was all over the world ( France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and the Western Sahara)!
My bingo card. I fell off at the end of the month because I had a few ARCs that I needed to read that were not on my card. I finished 22 overall. But only my #bookspin square 20 which was The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot and it was ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Looking forward to August. 🤗
Lots of stuff going on means not a lot of books read, but they were all pretty good. Maybe I‘ll get to more in August.
July's reads
Best of them:
Thursday Murder Club ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Blacktop Wasteland ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Worst of them:
Only Skein Deep ⭐
