I remember reading this book when I was a teenager and loving the book. My library had the ebook so i checked it out to see if it was how i remembered it. It was. I rated this book a 3 out of 5 stars.

Pink and Say | Patricia Polacco

@BookMarkTavern

I have two that I would use to teach my reluctant reader students in middle school: PINK AND SAY by Patricia Polacco and FAITHFUL ELEPHANTS by Yukio Tsuchiya. The first one occurs during the Civil War, and the second one during WW2. And yes, both are #tearjerkers. 🧡💜💛

MissyD Ohhh. I love pink and say. I will have to read the other one soon 1y

BookmarkTavern Those both sound interesting! Thanks for answering! 1y

Grab a box of tissues and anything else you might need to feel some serious feelings, because things on my book podcast are about to get heavy (and maybe a litttttle melodramatic). Episode 249 brings you a conversation about Lurlene McDaniel‘s SIX MONTHS TO LIVE and the origins of so-called “sick lit.” 💔 Listen at the link in my bio!

Current progress for my #Roll100 lists for this year. I‘m hoping to completely clear both lists, so I‘ve been pulling from it to finish challenges whenever possible. ☺️ @PuddleJumper

KateReadsYA Wow I love a coloring opportunity, gonna have to do this one soon. 2y

Pickpick

This book is a collection of short stories set in the Shadowhunter world that center around James Carstairs/Brother Zachariah. These were really good emotional stories. My favorite story was The Land I Lost where Alec rescues then adopts Rafe. It was also one of the least depressing stories. Cassandra Clare is really good at #tearjerkers 🖤

Now that my tree is up ive been getting nostalgic! When we were little my cousin and i always used to compare presents. One year the only thing on my list was books, a lot of books. My parents bought every book on my list. Most were Lurlene McDaniel books. The look of horror on my cousins face still makes me giggle! These books may have been morbid to some 10 year olds, but these sparked my love of reading! Life isnt always puppies and horses! 📚

Notafraidofwords Are you kidding? She was my favorite author ever !!!! 6y
Notafraidofwords @bookish_wookish it was always about someone dying and then like a romance. 6y
EH2018 Just found a couple at a book sale! I devoured these when I was a teen 6y

#TearJerkers - 2 books that immediately popped into my mind with today‘s prompt.

I don‘t read a lot of books that make me cry, so it‘s easy to remember the ones that do!

#ReadingResolutions

Jess7 I agree! Me Before You was super emotional and I really want to read The Art of Racing in the Rain. I‘ve heard such good things! 7y
SilversReviews Loved THE ART OF RACING IN THE RAIN. 7y
Cortg I read both of these. The book that had me ugly crying (thank goodness the fam was out of town that weekend) was Night Road. It was my 1st Kristin Hannah book and OMG. It was a long time before I read another book by her. 7y

Laughterhp @Cortg I‘ve never read Kristin Hannah, but I recently picked up one of her books and was told it‘d make me ball my eyes out! So I‘m nervous to read her now lol. 7y
Laughterhp @Jess7 The Art of Racing in the Rain was great. It‘s a dog story and dog stories always make me cry! 7y
Cortg I have Winter Garden on my TBR shelf at the house. I really want to read it but other books just always seem to pop up and get in the way! 7y
