Amiable Holy cow, I literally noticed this word in a book about an hour ago! It's like you were looking over my shoulder. In my bedroom. While I was reading in bed. Which would totally be weird. 😄 1w

Cuilin Yes. It was a staple child‘s birthday party game, along with Pass the Parcel in Ireland in the 70‘s. 2w

Cuilin Pass the parcel, the host has a gift wrapped with many layers of paper. The game starts with everyone seated in a circle. Music is played, the gift is passed around. When the music stops whoever is holding the parcel unwraps a layer, this continues with the music starting and stopping and layers being removed until the last player to remove the last piece of paper gets to keep the gift. 🎁 2w

CatLass007 @Cuilin That sounds interesting. I have been at holiday parties with other adults when a game of “Chinese” Christmas party is played. Everyone brings a gift, maybe gag gifts or maybe the same type of gifts, say mugs. This doesn‘t work well with large groups because it takes a while. Everyone puts their anonymous gifts on a table or under a tree. Each person is assigned a number or maybe it just goes around the circle. The first person (cont)⬇️ 2w

CatLass007 chooses and opens a package. The next person has the option of taking the gift from the first person or choosing a wrapped gift. It‘s fun but occasionally can be frustrating. 2w

CatLass007 I guess the closest I‘ve ever come to playing blind-man‘s bluff is playing Pin the Tail on the Donkey. 2w

Amiable @Suet624 I used to be a daily news consumer. I read WaPo, NYT, the Atlantic, local news sites, etc. Since 11/6, I can't do it. My eyes skip over anything that at a glance appears political in nature. My brain has disengaged. Where I would once get inspired or irritated into action, I now find myself shrugging and saying, “oh well. That's what they voted for. Not my concern.“ Even though it most definitely is going to be my/our problem(s). 2mo

And my faith in the majority of the people in the US has gone kaput--draining right down the proverbial swamp. 2mo
